every time i open yt i tell myself “if there’s an eric haugen video within the first couple recommendations, im dropping everything and playing along.” goes without saying that every time i open youtube im playing along with ya
Eric always blows you away with awesome, unique & brilliant sounding geetars, just another good reason to always catch a new 'pearl of E,H musical wisdom '
Eric Haugen, Man ! Your content is Top Tier! Had I had your instruction from the beginning I would be a happy and content player, My playing and ability on guitar is kinda like the buns lettuce tomato pickles onions and cheese with no beef! I’m starting over with your Ingenious ability to teach and know the heart and minds of who you are teaching, you are absolutely a players player and a genuine guitar instructor, your content speaks to not just the guitar but the heart of the player!
I got the exact same model shown in the video but left handed. It’s an absolutely gorgeous guitar but you gotta switch that pick guard for a black one. The default one is so ugly!
Dude, seriously, our lessons are EXACTLY what my playing has been in dire need of. I have been feeling so underwhelmed by the "widdling" I normallly try to do with my playing, this is just great work, keep it up man.
I love your lessons, 🎸Eric. This one is no exception. Thank you for reminding me that I don’t have to be the best thing people have ever heard. I’ve taken it to heart. And I’m a lot happier for it. Thank you so very much.
Ever since I learned your method of charting songs, my desk is also full of them. Today's epiphany, simply adding the D bass note changes that D-shaped F chord into a Dm7. It's been right there the whole time. Brilliant! Thanks, man.
the rabbit hole goes down deeper Maj7 chord is formed from a minor triad and Min7 is formed from a major triad Maj9 is formed by adding the 9th on the min7 chord whereas Min9 is formed by adding 9th on the maj7 chord
I had a similar epiphany recently when I was learning the chords for Steely Dan’s “Peg” and having trouble going from the Cmaj7 to the Gadd9/B. It suddenly hit me that three of the notes in the Gadd9 form a Dsus4 chord. Let the bass player handle the low B, and presto, it turned into an easy transition back and forth.
Thanks, Eric 🙏🏻 I've been recommending your channel to a few budding guitarists. There's a good reason. I appreciate your method and instruction, as well as the laid-back manner in which you teach. Happy belated Friday Be good to you ✌️🍕🤍
Stoked on this video. This is a favorite channel. That is a favorite guitar. I have one with a cutaway, same pickups, D'Addario Chromes flatwound strings, and burgundy body. What great tones. I removed the pick guard to show the f-hole and hear it breathe acoustically. I write in so many genres on this thing. Shout out to Traffic for "Low Spark..." It plays nicely on this model guitar. Thanks Eric! 😎
I just spend a good two hours learning, looping and jamming to this. It unleashed some amazing creativity. Great points about K.I.S.S. I'm totally guilty of over fills and ego. Thanks Eric. Fantastic lesson.
You always make it all make sence. Then I go to implement and it`s gone. I wish I could afford private lessons with you Eric. I am a trained vocalist so the theory and musicality side I get. I can`t get my brain and fingers to communicate. Thank you for all you do
you're right Eric sometimes the most simple sounding things (from a guitarist point of view) gets the audience fired up. I can't tell you how many times I've seen an audience go ape shit over the guitarist using the tremolo bar lol
Now there's a great idea 💡As for the 5th Avenue one thing kind of turns me off as it seems there's many models available over a wide range of prices... what to get? Looks great though.
‘I’m a bad mufukka’ LOL! That’s why I focused on arts and crafts. I have too much anxiety to prove myself in a crowd. Art is a solo thang, if it sucks it’s just you. Much easier to convince yourself and bullshite everyone else that it’s actually good when it’s just your work. Other artists might think it’s crap but it’s your word against theirs. They aren’t painting the canvas with you 😄✌🏽

I second that
Third….who ever gets sixthseses is going to be very happy
This guy always has amazing tone and is probably the most musical teacher on youtube.
"Doesn't have to split the sky with awesomeness; a simple fill will do." Eric Haugen
Off the subject Eric, love your indoor plants. Your doing a great job there.
that's one of the nicest looking guitars I've ever seen, so classy
Eric always blows you away with awesome, unique & brilliant sounding geetars, just another good reason to always catch a new 'pearl of E,H musical wisdom '
I just DL all of his offerings, doing that , one has to flick him some coin. You feel guilty, otherwise

Another wonderful experience hanging with EH. Such inspiration
I have the exact same guitar, its so cool that i have a chance at watching someone playing it. Absolutely beautiful!
Love that fiddle. I've got the single cut kingpin with 2 p90s. Godin is such a slept-on maker. What a gem.
They are utterly fantastic guitars!
people fear the cherry lol
I got the exact same model shown in the video but left handed.

Simple, humble, human. Love you, man, thank you for inspiring us to keep grooving!

One hell of a beauty that guitar!
Beautiful guitar
Watching this, I forgot how much I really enjoy this guy - keep rocking Mr. Haugen!
Just yet another brilliant lesson.
I’m a metal head and rocker and that is a cool looking guitar .
I just spend a good two hours learning, looping and jamming to this. It unleashed some amazing creativity. Great points about K.I.S.S. I'm totally guilty of over fills and ego. Thanks Eric. Fantastic lesson.
Thats a sweet Godin 🔥 LOVE your channel Eric. Always great style and ettiquette tips.
Eric you’re seriously giving us diamond at salt’s price. thank you so much!
Thanks, Eric
I knew that was low spark from the first hit. Great tune! I've had a few 5th Avenues too, nice work from the Canadians!
I love your skill and approach to playing guitar, thank you for always giving homage to great music and your tone is always impeccable
Concise, to the point, and sweet.👍
Whew good lord that guitar! Great vid - I really love your style of playing AND the way you deliver this info to us.
Thanks so much Eric. The real guitar Guru
Your lessons are informative, interesting, practical and entertaining, !!
You are cool funny guy
I love your videos, I watch and play with every each of them even though I am a teacher myself.
Thank you so much for your effort
Intelligent approach. Thanks.
Great Lesson and beautiful Godin Guitar 👍

Eric, for a younger guy you have great taste in grooves.
You rock brother, keep em coming!
Nice guitar Eric
Great lesson...🎸👍
Love that Traffic album.
Every time I see you play the Godin I wish I hadn’t sold mine almost a decade ago. I still have it tattooed on my arm. …I should get another.
What a fantastic video have a good day also a wonderful weekend Eric ❤😊
Thank you, Eric! ✌️😌🎸
Another great guitar with a very useful lesson. 🤙👍👏
Love that deep tones on lower strings, kills me.... My Joe Pass hollow body has that sound ...
LOW SPARK baby!!!! Love it
Great video, excellent advice
Great sruff Eric, as guitarists most of us are prone to over playing - and nobody wants to hear it!😬
Playing along on my Casino. I will definitely be playing more in low mid? register
Great video man. Tasty riffs!
you're right Eric sometimes the most simple sounding things (from a guitarist point of view) gets the audience fired up. I can't tell you how many times I've seen an audience go ape shit over the guitarist using the tremolo bar lol
Great song.

Nice Godin!
Hey buddy! You are a really nice falla. Love your playing. Makin pizza while watching this🤗
Thanks!
Would not be surprised if you do a Steve albini tribute of some sort down the line
I have a 52 ES 295 that somebody gave me. Funky but chic!
I needed this How did you know?
This groove class reminds me of sly Dunbar on " Infidels", Mark Knopfler "Debut" : 'Steppin Out to Angelucci's' ; and Greg Allman "Slip Away"
The intro of this vaguely echoes "Follow me Home" by Dire Straits
Yeah, a good riff or turn around get the whole groove going. And the crowd, if you have one.
Wow can anybody tell me a 70s song that had a similar groove in the intro? All I can think of is Trouble Man
Dude, is that guitar new to you? I just traded one in, and it would blow my mind if you got it!
It is brand new - not used unfortunately :-)
Merci !
Thanks so much Jacques!
Which video went viral? To me all of your videos are viral! But seriously - which one was it?
The "How to be a Good Rhythm Guitarist" vid - makes me happy that is was such a simple concept that caught on!
Seems to me you're basically talking about playing tastefully. And with confidence.
What if we accidentally split the sky with awesomeness?
Groovy
Less is more!

You sold a 5th avenue sir….
Most important rule for the fill: don't step on the singer.
Less is more… am I right?
A little ego problem with illusions of grandeur.
What makes you think so? Weird comment to make.
