Love videos with you and your husband together. It's obvious you're such a good team, look what the two of you have built together over the years! It's a *success* story all around--and, yes, love this video.
Re-watching this video today due to mention in recent newsletter, really love watching how these quilts go together. One comment that I have no doubt made elsewhere, though: If you are sewing diagonals and then cutting off the bit at the back, you may want to sew 2 lines instead of 1 on each piece, then cut between, to eliminate waste. So, sew the first diagonal and sew another line 1/2 inch away parallel. (If chaining sew all the first diagonals then go back and do all the secondary lines.) After pressing, cut between the 2 sewing lines. (I line them up using a long rule and use a rotary cutter.) Now, instead of tiny hard-to-work-with scrap triangles, you will have small but perfectly formed HSTs which can be used in borders, doll quilts, and baby quilts. Hope this is useful!
The Harvest quilt and the Cutting Corners quilt are both elegant. You've done it again! Watching the new videos is so very exciting and always an opportunity to learn something new. Thanks so much. Looking forward to what's next.
They're both great! You make it so hard to choose. I am sooooo glad you switched out that stipe in the center of the Christmas prints. It gave the tree a look of a blank space in the middle. It was so much better after you fixed it.
Oh! I square mine up, but just some of them. That's why mine are different sizes. I have to hand it to you Donna your piecing is perfect every time. I love how you press your fabrics and cut each one so perfectly, then to watch you piece each section together so neat and perfectly. I really could watch you all day, wishing I was so good! P.S. I must remember to square them all the same. Ha, Ha.
Rewatching just because I can! Precision cutting and sewing really make a difference. This particular tutorial really helps you with so many aspects of quilting that give many of us agnst. My personal bugaboo is making sure my seams are all going in the right direction when I'm ironing.😨 So many times I've started out so well but seem to lose my way when it comes to ironing in the right direction. I've learned to keep a sample block, ironed correctly, on my ironing board as well as next to me at my machine so when in doubt I can refer to a correct square. It really helps a lot. So, once again, great job Donna! 💙
LOVE THE HOPE AND SEW METHOD ALL DONE THAT WAY WITH ME, LOL, THESE ARE VERY NICE LARGE BLOCKS SO GROWS OH SO QUICK. AMAZING AUTUMN COLOURS AS JUST THAT TIME OF YEAR HERE IN THE UK. GREAT JOB.
Your demo is very inspirational as usual ! Your style of demonstration in every video is used to be so that the viewer gets confidence “ yes, I can do it ! “ This is sucess of your well illustrated videos. Thanx !
Thank you for the time to your way of teaching is grate I’ve been watching u for a year I no I’m slow but just Bought fabric and all I need to make a Quilt ya thank u
"Hope and Sew" method (I like it!) works great when the patches are cut as accurately as Jordan Fabrics (Matt) does. Combined with Donna's organization, consistently straight stitched seams and pressing skills, it produces a proudly satisfying pieced quilt top. And yet, I also like the more carefully matched method with the pin just as well for those of us with less experience. I appreciate the explanation and shots where we see the slight difference in the results. And the accuracy of those strip sets with such a straight stitched seam and the pressing with the uniform amount of fabric on each side, nice! Donna's verbal instructions with her clever skills and her son, James' camerawork (along with producing and editing), are setting the bar higher for anyone producing quilting tutorials on YT. A little off-topic, but I felt some joyful moments of anticipation and excitement for Jordan Fabrics when Donna showed the displayed Harvest quilts with the echoing of her voice in the not-yet-ready-for-opening new retail space. The Jordan Quilts family and staff must be feeling like kids anticipating Christmas.
I bought the pattern & bunch jelly rolls. I’m excited to tackle another quilt. Thanks Donna. It looks so complicated but after watching your instruction I think I can make a quilt top for my bed.
I had the privilege of visiting your quilt shop in late Sept. I was so impressed with your selection of batiks as well as other fabrics too!! I also loved all the kit opportunities you offer!! My daughter lives in Medford so there will be many more opportunities for me to visit again. Great job!!
Ha, ha, love the sew and hope.! We are none of us perfect, but it's fun to try to get close. I watch you for my entertainment and dreaming every day. Thank you.
Another great tutorial. You and your husband are great at picking out fabrics for patterns. I love this one. Plan on making this one sometime in the future. Thanks for being such a great teacher.
This pattern has an Amish look to it. Love it. As always, I enjoyed your tutorials ... now if I can live long enough to copy all of them ... That would be great. ;)

Sew snd hope. Good one. My quilting teacher would say “if you can’t see it on a galloping horse” it’s good.
They're both great! You make it so hard to choose. I am sooooo glad you switched out that stipe in the center of the Christmas prints. It gave the tree a look of a blank space in the middle. It was so much better after you fixed it.
