My mom visits India for the first time - finally meeting my husband's parents in Jaipur

- My mom finally reaches India! We've been trying to schedule her visit for the past two years now but due to the pandemic restrictions and other issues it's been getting postponed. She took a direct Finnair flight from Helsinki and landed in Delhi early morning. This was her first visit to India and she was obviously overwhelmed. Right after she landed we took a cab to Jaipur to meet my husband's parents. It was the peak of summer so we didn't want to spend too much time in Delhi. Not that the temperature in Jaipur was any better but the comfort of home always helps. Anyway, the trip for us started from Kerala and we had long layover at Bangalore where we went to what I think is the best lounge in India. It ended late night in Jaipur with Vinod's parents and his sister Sangeeta. My mom brought so many gifts from Finland. It was a wonderful meeting of two cultures :)

Congrats Johanna, you are the best trooper. Keeping both families happy and together. Not many daughter in laws do it. Annika has met her little cousin now and both are in same age group, it will be exciting watching them grow up together ❤️. Vinods mom must be having a ball of time with two grandchildren and house must be full of laughter and running to catch these little ones.

Annika is like my mom, she’s all mine😂. That’s okay bringing all the Finnish gifts. In India gifts are normal when visiting families and I’m sure they love the thought.
We gift family in Finland too if we dont see often 😊 but it’s just that bringing so much food that isn’t really going to be eaten/used is just so much waste 😄

Yesss, i’ve been looking into those flights for our next Finland trip but goddammit flights in general are so expensive now! 😱😄

Haha yes that's why she was carrying it like that, even with a mini lock on the zipper which we told her was actually useless but she still insisted using.... :D For all the advice she got from friends and family in finland, she was too stubborn to take our advice about India hahaha!

Dosa/idli is quite a lot better for digestion than chicken or kfc which was important to my mom 😊 most Finnish people would find it very weird to have chicken for breakfast anyways! 😄

I've worked with several Indian nationalities at Spectra Laboratories but never heard about the historic sites until you started videoing them. I got more than one hundred procent from this visit to Jaipur. To see Vinod' s family was the most important prize. I fell in love with them . It was so nice to be there in Jaipur.

Mummi is writing. Yes I was very tired when I came to Delhi airport on early Sunday morning. The visa control took a little time because of my papers. I was a little afraid what's going to happen me 😅 the Queuing before the conrol was very fast I think that Delhi airport was very easy to come to the country. It is easier than Helsinki- Vantaa airport
Then the next excitement was where do I find Johanna and Vinod and Annika ? And the first person I found was Johanna. My weight disappeared one hundred kilos. 🤣 And then I felt it on my skin. I came to sauna a mask on my face. 😅
I was a smelting mummi standing in front of my dears and the reason had gone. Am I going to hug my dears or not ?
I think that the slowest tourist came to India that morning 😄

Coming into a totally new environment n the anxiety of getting thru the queues n onto your lovelies waiting on the other side. I too travel by myself to see my loved Ones in Ozland. Their immigration n customs r very meticulous.. been very fortunate, treated very well so far.

It was quite hot in early June but much more bearable in a home environment than if we had been just as tourists there! 😊
Finally got to see the video of your Mom in India. I recall you had mentioned this about 2 months ago , but hadn’t seen her in your subsequent videos except for 1 or 2 of them and I figured she must have gone back. Anyway great to see her meeting up with Vinod’s family and Anika’s new little cousin. The Bangalore Lounge was really a great place to chill , was surprised how nice it seemed. As was the place in Jaipur where you all had Brunch. Your videos cover some really nice places in India in your Traveligues and gives good ideas for your viewers too. It would have been great if your sister Nina had accompanied your Mom. By , i am sure your Mom must have travelled back to Finland, hope she had a good time in India , especially the thawing , roasting heat of Rajasthan and Delhi at this time of the season. Probably she could have come during Dec, Jan. Anyway bye from Mangalore and the US 😊.

Annika got pretty quickly close to my mom while we were travelling around and they got to spend more time alone just the two of them - which for me was the most important thing 🥰

Yes I enjoyed my visit to India 💯 . This was an amazing vacation . Johanna and Vinod showed me super historical places and daily life at Vinod' s home and travelling by car , by bus and by train.
