Boss G and Snappawrecka are big targets too. Not quite as tanky as Kut, but perhaps a bit more useful offensively as well as in other game modes. That said, if you want to do Elite FOC Mirror...Kut is essential...
Been using Angrax as tank here. Deep strike into top right corner so he can't be knocked back, meaning the Boss skips the Battering Ram and only does a regular melee attack. He's tanky enough to eat some hits and the big target trait is somewhat redundant when you can disable the ram. Then adding Eldryon, Revas, Shosyl and Noble for some firepower
If you moved Angrax behind Screamer killer, He would not get hit with living battering ram. Kut Skoden would get hit with living battering ram, but will not move due having the large target trait.
Gold 1 re'vas survived without an issue against epic screamer killer. So there is that as well. Altho I ill advise to use melee summons. I do think re'vas's summons for turn 1 fine so she takes less damage. So the last attempt which I could watch, I used sho'syl + darkstrider + re'vas + Eldryon + mougan ra. Everyone is gold 1. With highest level being 36 maybe 37. What you have to do, is to just lead screamer killer to the low ground. Then you go up with everyone of your dudes to the high ground. In that attempt I dealt 90K damage. I could had dealt a bit more, but I forgot to slowly reposition my eldyron next to darkstrider. Maybe I could place re'vas a bit differently, so the drones are not trying to constantly defend her and die for her, but I want to switch to kut skoden anyways. 1 extra tip, the boss will like to move next to the highest number of units in his first round, so you can force the boss to move to the same location every time.
Kut might be bit overrated. Easy to get and obviously high armor but poor synergy with supporting units. Might be good with Calgar adjanced. Still in this setup Ulf instead of Agrax would be just great (passive triggering each round).
I'd say Incisus may be useful rather than Isabella with his ability to immediately resurrect. If the boss gets kut skoden low and kills him, Incisus can bring him back.
Kut skoden is worthless you never used his big target trait his passive only works once and his active does little damage might even be better nkt to use it. The boss has super high armor so physical damage is the worst idea and the boss does physical damage in melee so all you need is high armor like bellator or aleph-null or any other tank who's active will actually give more damage. The numbers for kut are not there.

For sure, I've done as much Mirror as I can now and Kut was really the weak link. Almost got him to silver but going to push to Gold minimum
Not as tanky.. A bit of an understatement. At d1, Kut has 2300 armor, while the orks at d1 are still at 600 armor.

True, but I was coming from the perspective that Kut is MUCH easier to get than Calgar

Big target is only needed if you only have 1 unit in melee angrax was redundant.
