Amazing how it's changing the color. I know one hydrangea that's changing the colour from white to blue and then to red. I took a cutting and I hope it will bloom next year 💕
Hi there, That sounds beautiful!! Id love to see pictures of that hydrangea. Feel free to post pictures in our Facebook group, Favorite Hobby Gardeners.
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful! Cooler nights and extra water at the end of the season can have a big impact on how much color you get off your panicle hydrangeas as well. You can't control the night time temperatures, but you could try giving it a bit of extra water in September :)
(EXCELLENT VIDEO) To everyone: Have yours turned that strong fuscia color or just a dull rusty color? I just bought my first one and as I drive through my NJ neighborhood. I don’t see any vibrant hydrangeas (except the limelights). I’m getting discouraged. Thanks in advance. 🌸
Like your Hydrangea bush! I picked up a Fire Light Hydrangea 'tree' last fall. It's about three feet tall and the trunk is about half an inch in diameter. Planted it in full afternoon sun. I noticed the flower blooms started about a week ago. Hoping the afternoon sun here in St. Louis isn't too much for the blooms as the year progresses. If it does have problems, I'll have to transplant to a shadier area. Also picked up this spring five Fire Light Tidbit bushes. These are a dwarf and will grow 2 to 3 feet tall and about 2 to 3 feet wide. Plan is to arrange the bushes in a circle around the Hydrangea 'tree'.
Wow Mark!! They sounds AMAZING! I didnt know there were Fire Light Tidbits. I wish I had room for those. They will look pretty in a grouping. Feel free to join our facebook group: Favorite Hobby Gardeners so you can post pics of them as they bloom. We'd also love to see the tree. Mine is facing east in Oklahoma so it gets very hot mornings. Sun is usually off of it by 2pm. But it handles the sun well until about then. This year I will try to water mine more toward the end of summer and start of fall. Read back through these comments. A friendly viewer suggested more water will help reduce the brown mine had at end of the summer. Happy Hydrangeas to you!!! Dont forget the pics. 😊
It’s interesting. I have a Strawberry Sundae one with panicles that are deep red where they face the sun and pale green on the other side. Yours held up pretty well considering the Oklahoma sun and heat.
That is interesting. I love the pale green color too so I’d be very happy with that combo. I was hoping mine would end the season more of a maroon red/pink but as you see, I think the sun was just too hot. It’s facing East but this past summer was especially hot. Maybe next year will be a smidge cooler & I’ll get the dark pink instead of crisp brown. 😂
Hi April, It was recommended by Nettas Nursery in the comments below to water more at the end of the season. Im going to try that this year to see if it helps mine get more pink, rather than brown. Id love to know if that helps yours too?
laurenpage3301, This Fire Light can handle more sunshine than most Hydrangeas. Oklahoma has a VERY hot summer sunshine so I planted it in my East facing garden. It gets morning sun. But, in OK that morning sun is VERY hot.
Hi, the flowers looks so lovely. How long that your fire light hydrangea grow into the current height in the video? Thanks.
Hi Luki, it’s only about two years old in that video. It has now grown taller than me, about 6’ tall!!
Love, love, love the way you did this! I would love to see other hydrangeas and other flowers through their season!
Thank you Kathy. Ill see what I can do. I have another video on my channel that is similar about the Wygelia
That is one healthy Hyrangea love the color of the leaves and stems as well
Thank you Martin

Thank you for your advice!! I will definitely try that next year.

New subscriber and also a new gardener. Lets do this! The firelight is my favorite.

Bought 3 firelights an I love them❤❤️🔥🌺🌺🌺
We'd all love to see them. You can post pics of yours in our facebook group, Favorite Hobby Gardeners.
Did your fire light produce strong fuscia colored flowers? Thanks

Here in TN mine turn brown before they get very pink. Same for my strawberry vanilla hydrangea. Heat resistant but don’t get very pink.
