Nobody can surpass the legendary and incomparable Bee Gees in terms of songwriting. They were featured in the Book of Guiness as the most successful songwriters of all time. Legends and brilliant
He sang from his heart and sole. His unique haunting marvellous voice will never be forgotten. No one will ever be able to sing like him ever. It was so unique. Sounded like a heavenly angle. Loved him. Truly missed. RIP Robin 🕊🕊🕊❤️❤️❤️
If memory serves me correctly, this was recorded at Avery Fisher Hall in NYC in 1974. I was at that show & saw the recording truck & equipment there. I was thrilled to later hear it on the radio, knowing that I was at that show! Some of the best memories of my life are the Bee Gees concerts that I attended in the NY, NJ, & Long Island area in the '70's! I was a teenager & my friends & I were hard core Bee Gees fans and went to every show that they did in the area. In 1971 & earlier years, they had a full orchestra & Maurice played a grand piano!! Later, the orchestra was smaller & Maurice didn't play the piano as much. In 1975, they played two nights at Central Park - went to both shows! Great times, incredible memories! I would be on a natural high for days after a show - it was pure magic!!🙂
Thank you for the information! I always wondered where this was recorded. It was an amazing show. I wish I could be there too!! On the orchestra part, I think they toured with a full orchestra in the earlier years because they worked with Bill Shepherd, their musical director who did the orchestrations. I always love to see Maurice play the piano. He also said in interviews that he loved to play it. They are all amazing talents. So happy that you have all these wonderful memories of them! 😊
@seeingautumn6651 You are very welcome! Weren't they wonderful and magical?! And isn't it so cool that there is so much stuff available on youtube now?!
@seeingautumn6651 Interesting about the orchestra! I bet it was also extremely expensive and they probably had to eventually cut back. But I remember being so disappointed when I went to one of their shows and saw that the orchestra was no longer with them....
@Espy Slays I can spot a true 'Robin-addict' a mile away!Lol..and honey-child you've got Plenty of company!..and Very proud to say I'm one of them!..'Robin'... NOTHING like this Magnificent Man and his Magnificent Voice!
@@deeb3077 I love Barry's natural voice also, but his falsetto was appropriate and compelling for certain songs. I do feel he over-used it, and I think he knows it.
@@deeb3077 A good example is the very popular later song "Alone." It doesn't do very much for me, because I feel it would have been so much better if Barry had sung it all in his natural voice.
He did a lot of falsetto in the pre-‘75 era on harmonies. But sometimes the mix of Barry and Robins voice gave off a harmonic that had almost gave another “voice”. It’s astounding to hear it even in live recordings. So it wasn’t a studio overdub. Amazing.
They could have had a 5 hour concert and not gotten to all my favorite songs. This blew me away because this concert ( King Biscuit 1974) had 2 songs I always wanted to see or hear performed live. Let there be Love and Don’t want to Live Inside Myself- two of my favorite “ Deep Tracks”. I love their 70’s 80’s and 90’s R&B based music but songs like this are what made me a die hard fan in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I played those records till the grooves were worn out and they skipped. Just an awesome band. Truly beautiful music in every era of their career.

@@KowGamesBr Boa noite, amigo, este Bootleg é um item fantástico e muito nítida, é realmente a qualidade de transmissão de rádio, se não me engano, a única que deu uma "chuviscada" no som foi em "Words" , mas muito colecionável. Tom D I Know Right!?😭 And to me, they were at their very best in the early days...(everything before the 'Fever' period.) Not that I don't love a lot of their later music ...but those early years were the absolute best to me!!
+Gloria Mary Haywood I love all the Bee Gees material including their Falsetto stuff, they turned that style of vocals to be the best and most powerful style of vocals anybody else could even compare too, they also continued to grow musically with the changing times and had platinum albums for the rest of their career, they never made a bad record and gave us 50 years of music. I have a soft spot for the music with Bill Shepard as a Orchestra conductor and loved the sound of a orchestra background and Bill Shepard was the best their was but in "75" it all changed and had they not they would of fizzled out, cause music changed and the folk era was over, the Bee Gees are the 6th biggest selling act in music history with over 220 million records sold. but in my opinion they're number 1 and nobody can beat them vocally.
I'm certain it's Robin, because of the way he pronounces words. Listen particularly to the last word, "orchestra." Here is an example of Robin's speech patterns - a 2009 clip where he spends a full 90 seconds explaining how "Massachusetts" was written, before launching into a gorgeous version of the song. m.ua-cam.com/video/VDdjk1HBIvo/v-deo.html

Makes no sense for me, to overdo Robin's role here. They're equal, not one better than the other. Barry more of masculine and on the rockin' side, Robin bringin' in his blue-eyed-soul abilities. Maurice fullfilling the chorusses to perfect three-part-harmony That's all. No need to push up one of them. They stand together on a high level of their own.

Wow, Robin truly had the better voice for certain songs, and this was one of them. Love them all, but Robin is my favorite.
