Happy Birthday Matt! Ah Founders beer. Y'all are true Grand Rapidians. What an awesome spot. It just dawned on me that Georgie is better traveled than I. ;-) Cheers.
Thanks again for taking us along. We spent all last week in W Michigan. Attended a grand daughter's wedding in Borculo. Visited Grandville, Wyoming, Rockford, Cedar Springs, Lowell, Grand Rapids, Wayland, Mount Pleasant and Shipsewana, IN. The weather is cool there and the trees are still green with just a few starting to turn. Stay safe and well. Oh, yeah - we visited three different Meijer stores. We really miss them here in Arizona. When we got back we went to Phoenix and watched the Detroit Lions tie in overtime with the Phoenix Cardinals.
I'm getting ready for for work when I see your notification so I stop to watch. Wishing I was there or anywhere for that matter. You guys are awesome hope you feel better and HAPPY Birthday.
Very talented Jessica, carrying lines and camera and negotiating all the foot obstacles leading your boat through the locks. Terrific shots of the boat's hull slicing through the beautifully calm water. Nice artistic shot. I could feel the serenity. Happy birthday, Matt! What a great place to spend it. Sorry you were under the weather, Jess. Feel better...
Sailed there 25 years ago , went into the pub , the only English in there , the Scots had lots of fun with us sasanachs , but we never paid for a drink all afternoon ,but they just kept coming to the table, went back to the boat, and dove of into Loch Ness. The monster never got us but the water was freezing. Thanks for the memory, happy sailing
I have been watching you from the very beginning You both are so enjoyable to watch. The views are amazing. Thank you for bringing us all a little escape each week.

It's too bad the castle visit was so expensive. The price of admission seemed excessively steep compared to other castle visits in places like the Med. It would have been nice to see the grounds and the castle up close and personal.
I think the Med is all around lower pricing that in the North. The low cost and the warm weather is calling us right about now... but not until at least next year. Matt
Hi from West Michigan! Love seeing you drink Founders (although I am in Bells town). Great videos - Scotland looks amazing! Rig Question: I see you have a Walder Boom Brake AND a couple more blocks and tackle aft of the boom brake. How do you use the boom brake versus the tackle? My S2 11.0 is on Muskegon Lake - I think you guys started there long ago?
Great boat and great place to sail! We kept ours on a mooring at Toresens marina and loved it. The boom brake's friction line is tensioned by the block and tackle on the side deck (it's also the tackle that lifts the dinghy). Tighten the tackle to engage the brake, and release it to allow a gibe. The line goes from the starboard toe rail to the boom, down to a block (just a snap hook) and back to the tackle. Matt

2 things... how can you have haggis and not talk about it??? What was it like? Also, why did you play the Price Is Right loser music when you showed the dark structure in the background? I didn't get that. Thanks!
I didn't know that you descend through the Caladonian Canal to Loch Ness. The 'monster'? I think that's been over for years at this point it's like an annoying kid in the back seat, everyone wants him to just stop.' Of course they'll take your tourist money. And haggis?? Okay... just get it over with: kilt, bagpipe, a bit of bad Gaelic pronunciation .... Just get it out of your system... When my son and I were there in 2018 we were in a monster camper - if you think they don't make catamarans for the road, rent a large camper in Scotland. We sought out the best views of the loch. We parked/camped along side the road on the SE bank high up on the ridge, thinking this is pretty spectacular. Of course the best views are from where you were. Two years later from 'ah, sailboats are just a fantasy' to practical and amazing. If it wasn't for the pandemic I'd be falling off some dinghy right now learning to to sail, or pestering (again) some patient boat broker. Caladonian Canal max width (Wikipedia) 35 feet, 10.7m, so catamaranadable! (credit me for this ridiculous neologism) Michigan raspberry beer, or was it pop? Vernors? Probably too hazardous to export.

Thanks! ;-)
(credit me for this ridiculous neologism)
Michigan raspberry beer, or was it pop? Vernors? Probably too hazardous to export.
