Mark Cuban is the coolest. You can tell he's the type of owner that would smoke blunts with his players. Dallas Mavericks winning the 2011 NBA Finals was like winning two of them because it was against LeBron James, Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh.

Cuban is a real one. A few years back a couple of my social media friends were posting pics with him. Turns out this cat was just hanging out in downtown Detroit by himself amongst the people. No entourage, no bodyguards, nothing.

People don’t give the 2011 Mavs enough credit for how they influenced the game. They had 4 of the top 10 three point shooters of all time up until that point. Kidd, Peja, Jason Terry, and Dirk were all top 10 in career 3 pointers made. That will legit never be replicated
Not to mention others like Caron, DeShawn Stevenson and Shawn Marion who could all stretch the court

As a Heat fan I really do love hearing Cuban speak. He’s probably the most interesting owner to me. He also has always been a owner players love that played for him and players who never did. He’s been crazy at times, but overall I think he is well respected

One major aspect for business/selling that's overlooked is simply having the ability to be present and articulate in the moment. That's it. Most people spend that time going "uhm, and so like ..." or avoiding eye contact, feeling the awkwardness of talking to a complete stranger and asking them for money. If you're just there in the present moment, and are verbally fluid...that's a huge advantage.
2011 I went for the heat. When they lost I went to court and practice the one legged dirk shot all summer. 🚀

After hurricane María devastated Puerto Rico back in 2017 JJ Barea moved to help in any way he could his home country. He and his wife got together with a couple of friends and started collecting basic emergency supplies. Word got out and within a couple of hours they had so much they didn't know what to do with it or how to get that stuff to the ppl in the island.
Barea's wife suggested he talk to Mark Cuban and he thought she was kidding but she wasn't. "Text him, you got nothing to lose" -she said- and so he did.
Mark Cuban replies: "check your email".
Five minutes later the pilot e-mailed JJ asking "when do we leave?"
Long story short. Mark's private plane made 5 trips to Puerto Rico even though Barea had only planned for one single trip.
Wherever you are Mark Cuban, the Mavs and the ppl of Texas, thank you so very much on behalf of the ppl of Puerto Rico. To JJ Barea and his wife, thank you so very much although in your case this is no surprise at all. It's just the way you are and we know it.
