I was hoping to make this video last Christmas but I ran out of time. I made sure I would get it done this year though. As I say in the video it looks a scary set up but even though you should try this at your own risk, it isn't really too bad.

This video is brilliant on several levels. I just can't decide what has had the greatest impact on me... Is it that Santa himself works in the shop? (the elves must not be unionized) That he has the good fashion sense to wear a Cactus t-shirt? Or that you can feed a spinning holesaw into a spinning cylinder and end up with a sphere? Or maybe the sphere sanding jig that costs virtually nothing to build but saves many man hours of work. This guy is an effin' genius! Merry Christmas indeed - thank you, good Sir, for these gifts of the mind!

Hi Pask 50 years ago I used a sharpened steel pipe to do the same thing, jumping into the 21st century is great I'll give it a try soon.
Wow. This was the best thing I’ve watched in awhile
the frankly surprising appearance of santa in this video was delightful, and the, "Don't worry, Santa, I can take it from here!" yelled into the empty air of a workshop made it 100x better

Very nice. Great idea with the plastic pipe for making the sanding easier.
Coolest thing I've seen in quite a while. Hole saw on a lathe... never in a million years would I have thought of doing something like that. Fantastic work and the ornaments turned out so great!

I wish I had seen this video a couple of months ago when I was making my Ladderball Game. I ended up buying spheres, but this would have been great. Definitely using this idea in the future!

I'm guessing he could flatten them and glue them up to make another cylinder with offset pattern. That would make for some interesting ornaments :)
