That was another great adventure from you guys. Enjoyed that a lot. We went into a fuel storage mountain once and one of us passed out as the result of the air quality in there so be careful :) Thanks a lot for sharing and Greetings sfrom WW2HistoryHunter
The steel wire on the floor of the pump room is the wire armour from the steel wire armoured, (SWA), cable that the thieves had stripped for the copper. More worrying were the transformers they had gutted for the copper windings; older transformer oils contained PCBs. Another fascinating explore Thanks.
Terry Lee thts wat I was thinking aswell!!!! Bloody amazing. And all we really think we did was fly n bomb n plan n stick together. So to speak, if tht makes sense
This is a fascinating insight into WW2 logistics, as are all your video's, keep em coming. I was intrigued by what looked like a fire blackened section of the tunnel. I would have thought a fire down there would be a devastating thing and one that could not easily be put out. I had to smile to myself when I saw the fire extinguisher stations on the wall at each shaft entrance, the term pissing into wind came to mind....... well done guy's.
That was something else! Those massive oil pumps at the end were fantastic. There were probably many more of them located throughout the oil reserve. Looks like some places were on fire? I wonder who set them and if anyone felt foolish afterwards? I am too old to do an adventure like that but thanks for sharing!
I didn't know that the we were using Metric in the those days. I love these videos, because the explorers also impart factual information about the exploration. Subbed.
Looks like they had a pretty major fire in there at some point in time. A beautiful big pump at 19:37 That deep drop as you noted behind the pumps were likely just fairly shallow (1 or 2 foot deep) spillage drains back to the tanks.
Visited this place many of times, such a great place and really interesting. i have seen every part of it. Even the engine room which is a swimming pool of oil. Great video! shame it's boarded up currently.
Really amazing how soot affects the lighting in a video ,another epic video keep up the good work.I have seen some pictures of this location before it was so oily really impressive structure.
Hi folks that place need to be restored as a museums what were those lovely engines down below kind regards from Mark in Cornwall biggest fan in Cornwall
IKS Exploration yes was back in the 50s. He told me there were some areas they didn’t take them something about amo storage i’m guessing thats in the section you couldn’t get to
Hi IKS, FYI just finished watching series 3 of the crime drama 'The Tunnel'. In episode 3 there's a scene in Dover that looks like it was shot in this complex. You can even see an old fuel pipe running along a wall. I half expected to hear Ian calling out "Ello?" haha
This is such an amazing site, it should be restored but my god they will have some cleaning to do. I can't understand where all the oil came from. I know the engine room had a sump under it but that would cause all the oil to leek. Maybe vandals were in there as there is stripped copper wire everywhere. What beautiful machinery though. Great vid
@ 9.47 on wards the ceiling and then the walls start to turn black, this is soot residue from a fire at some time! must have been horrific to have been down there while a fire raged :-0
You guys could sell your foot steps as a video sound effect....BBC sound effect volume 4 ..B side ..track 5 ...echo footsteps 20 minutes long ..ps another great vid
I’ve been in there a few times, incredible place. Gives you a massive headache after a while, but an amazing explore, I’m glad you filmed, as we never did.
It's just disgusting how something that is so special to our historical heritage can be left to be destroyed to thieves and idiots whom don't have any respect.
The one's up Scotland way have slightly wider pipes and you can get through on creeper boards pulled through, as seen on a TV prog called Underground Britain.
Ian you should check out the other fort opposite darnet fort on the river medway on the hoo marinina side it would be a shorter boat ride across to the no man's land hoo fort is not so flooded like darnet fort.have a look on Google maps. Love your explores keep them coming respect to Chris to.👍
am I right in thinking we are not allowed to post the location of these sites as it seems no one else has but with the right amount of research anyone can find the location
Good evening gents, I live in the area where the roads are that you show at the beginning and end, in fact I know those roads very well. Would I be correct in assuming these furnace fuel oil reserves are in the area where I live?
That was amazing. It's a semi ruin now but to think of the effort involved in the construction of that bunker. I wonder how many hundreds of tons of oil is still down there. It should be harvested for the good of your country. Who to tell about it? You can be sure the navy doesn't care!
can i recomend hiking poles then if it is wet you can check there is no holes under the water, dust mask, and gloves and some way of checking gas. please dont get hurt.
This is the requested re upload of a video that had playback problems. This is parts 1 and 2 put together into one whole video :)
you editing skillz have got soo good folk keep up the awsome videos
IKS Exploration thank you. I really enjoyed this explore
Thanks
love the footage you got
Lucky it's location was kept secret so well, that being destroyed at the right point during the war could have made the outcome very different.

WW2HistoryHunter I'd be investing in an air quality meter / budgie if visiting deep / partially sealed places was a regular occurrence.
yes that could be a gerat idea. Thanks.
WW2HistoryHunter love your videos
Thanks for that Matt. IKS gives us amazing material i think.

Another fascinating explore Thanks.
I'm watching this again it's one of my faves
Thanks for re upload hopefully this time will remain as is. Without stopping at 1:01 seconds. Thank you again
Enjoyed this the first time round, googled for pictures prior to the evident fire, and the difference is marked. Thank you for the re-upload.
You had me on pins and needles down in the generator room. Definitely one of your more intense explores! Thanks as always.
Imagine how much this must cost to build Absolutely unbelievable the things we did during the war
Terry Lee thts wat I was thinking aswell!!!! Bloody amazing. And all we really think we did was fly n bomb n plan n stick together. So to speak, if tht makes sense
DEAN WATERS Wars tend to facilitate and require things like tunnels be built.

Just what I was thinking... Lack of oxygen must have kept it from being worse. Would not have liked to have been down there when it started....
Great video. Many thanks guys. ....
The noise in there must have been deafening when it was in operation
Amazing place, too bad about the fire and vandalism. Loved that generator room.
Very interesting video.Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic and the amazing pomps an all, i love it !!
Awesome explore. Thank you so much.
Great video like all your others. Would love to see some exploration of some Auxiliary Unit bunks and GHQ line bunkers.

Thanks for the Fantastic Explorer keep it up can't wait for the next one cheers.😉
Love this climate !!!!! Great pleace :-))) very very good video👍
I must say. The intros are fantastic. Very atmospheric.

Yeah, I agree. The quality of the structure looks like it could easily be opened up to the public, under guidance of course.
This is way cool. As well as the others.
Thanks for sharing
Even though this is a re-run you guys do things just as good as pro's now re-run all of your days out i will watch them again :-)
Hey IKS awesome place. There must of been a strong oily smell down there.
I realy had a déja vu moment and i loved every minute of it. Great!
There is one of this place in hoy Orkney as well.
Awesome explore guys loved it. 🇬🇧🛸
6:15 FFO = Furnace Fuel Oil for ships.
Super! Thanks!
@17:28 that looks like all that's left from electric cable shielding, i would bet some one spent a long time down there to remove the copper cores lol
Really amazing how soot affects the lighting in a video ,another epic video keep up the good work.I have seen some pictures of this location before it was so oily really impressive structure.

É simplesmente maravilhoso !
That was different I loved it
Ian have you ever checked out Darnet fort in the river medway in Kent, it’s completely untouched
We need a boat folk for that one :) it’s on the list to do :)
Great video. Fill to 8 meters (not yards) would suggest this was in use fairly recently?
I should be exploring this place soon. Hopefully there is atleast one entrance open still.
Interesting when we last went all entrances were sealed with concrete and steel.
@@IKS-Exploration Damn. Thanks for the info. Well atleast i got to see some from your video 🙂
@@IKS-Exploration where are the blocked up entrance
my dad went there as part of his training for the navy had a tour of some of the complex
Wow bet that was amazing to see when it was all lit up and active :D

At mark 12 ;49 the electronics are modern when did they close this down
This place is so cool... I wish I could go
Sealed up tight now sadly folks :(
IKS Exploration that’s so sad... I’m curious about how the tanks are arranged and how they work.

I past by there at the beginning of this year, they were doing some GI up there...
Freaking awesome!!!
Another great video thanks. I went to watch part 2 before and couldnt find either, I thought it got took off for some legal mumbo jumbo lol .
This is a nice find good job, Question are the tanks below your feet ?
Here we go...where did the ships dock to fill up or unload oil?
watching 2nd time it still instresting.
15,000 tons of fuel is converted about 500,000 US gallons, the tanks alone are the biggest "rooms" in there...

Have to say even tho this a reupload it's one of my favourite videos. You should go back and explore it a bit more as you missed the massive staircase
we have filmed all that, not releasing just yet as got to many other videos still to go :)
Back to Frnace anytime soon? Maybe take a few days and get to those D-Day beach areas. Well worth it and youll get loads of new content.
Going back this Sunday :)
Jealous!!! Hope it all goes well.
I don't know how I got to your video but bro you're a straight Savage I just subscribed 👍👍

FFO on the pipe means Furnace Fuel Oil
FFO or HFO nasty stuff, they used to have to heat the oil before pumping it as its was so thick, the heated it usually with steam
Looks like the tanks are below you and also a superfund clean up site there not talking about.
Luar biasa panjang sekali bunker ini
didn't you upload this before

Do you have any idea why there was so much oil all over the floor?
Criminals tipped over transformers to get at the copper
In folkestone we had a pipe line down to the hurbour that would pump fuel our at sea round the hurbour if we got invaded
can i recomend hiking poles then if it is wet you can check there is no holes under the water, dust mask, and gloves and some way of checking gas. please dont get hurt.
Good one >how does Chris get that much Beard Growth since last week Folks!
Like a lot of my videos they are recorded and saved until I get round to them :) I have lots of amazing tunnels and bunker locations coming soon :)
I'm having a deja-vu. Anyways, the fire was more than likely started by cable thieves.
Are you all blind in this comments section or does nobody bother to read the description of the video at all?
