Me too, but I still kick myself in the ass for not making the last tour. A friend asked me if I wanted to go to Indy to see him & Joe Walsh & at the time I really couldn't afford it. My heart broke when I heard he passed.
I'm 62, and I regret to this day not seeing him in concert.
There quite simply will never be anyone like Tom Petty. We miss him so.

Tom has been healing people for a long time.
I'm 41 now and Toms music has been part of my daily life for as long as I can remember, he was my Dad's favourite musician, my Dad was a musician too and he'd rarely play a gig without a Tom Petty number thrown in, one of my earliest memories of my Dad was him excitedly buying Full Moon Fever on CD and taking it home, playing it to death while teaching himself some of the tunes. Tom Petty died nearly a year to the day after my Dad died. The last song I ever heard my Dad play was Into The Great Wide Open. Part of me is convinced that my Dads spirit snatched Tom Petty's from this world just so he could play Jeff Lynnes parts in some cosmic afterlife Wilburies jam night 🎸❤

@@nubevida His music is woven into the fabric of my life. Signposts along the way for all of us. I have never mourned a celebrity in my life except for Tom. I got to see him in concert not knowing that it was literally one of his last shows ever. I can’t explain adequately all the synchronicities that are associated with his music in my life. Those were small moments when my soul felt seen and recognized. When you are connected to the ethereal realms where music comes from…it comes from that place where we are all one and we know that we are all connected. When I was typing out the hearts I couldn’t stop at one…one wasn’t enough to express my gratitude for his life’s work and presence in my life still. Another synchronicity! Thank you for that!!

Love, love, love Tom and the band but educate me people. What does this honor do for Tom? Was a degree or doctorate something he had always wanted but hadn't gotten around to? As it stand it feels like UF stands to gain more by offering this to Tom than than the other way around. But if his estate is good with it then who am I... I guess I just like it more when people are honored and esteemed while they are still around to accept and receive this kind of thing. It not like Tom hadn't already left an indelible mark on the arts and in our culture 20 years ago. Personally, I think it would be cooler if they named a building after him if they haven't already. Who know, maybe they will! 💘🎸
