    Just my 2 cents, I have used Spearpoints brand recently and really liked the catch ratio, but I have used Trapper brand forever and I seemed to catch more with them. And I totally agree with the EWG brand. MUCH love to you and your family and thank you for all you do!

    • @tragikk03

      EWG is a type of hook bend, all brands sell extra-wide gap hooks (it's just the name for the actual wire-bends, the actual shape of the hook)

    great video. My dad and I got a new boat, fish finder, trolling motor all that stuff. been hittin it hard lately and we found two or three spots with just huuuuge pockets of bass. but they are all down around 20-35 feet. we just couldn't get them. i tried dropping a senko down with no weight but think it just kinda floated around down there instead of sinking. most of the time I run a 1/0 owner mosquito for nose hook dropshot. I don't typically rig it weedless unless I'm powershotting. 9/10 times I throw a dropshot, it's a tiny swimbait nose-hooked... Keitech fat swing impact 2.8-3.3 or a smaller, finessier, swimbait (lots of threadfin and tiny baitfish in my waters)
    Appreciate the honesty and lack of marketing. - I think 3/0 and 4/0 EWG hooks don't really have the problem with what you called "wallowing" (prolly spelled that wrong but you know what I'm saying), but idk... I think it's personal preference...
    Some guys say EWG hooks have better hook-to-land ratios on the big girls, I think it's what you like or what you learned first is typically what a guy will prefer

    • @Grimey_Fishing
      @Grimey_Fishing 3 роки тому

      My cranking combo is the only setup I spool with straight fluoro. Everything else is braid or braid to mono or fluoro leader because I have a bad habit of getting excited and rushing my cast, which often gives me an overrun. With the braid, I can get a backlash out no matter how bad it is and the line is fine when I'm done. If you're going to make the switch, just remember that braid has virtually no stretch, it floats, and it's visible to line shy fish. These things can be good or bad depending on your situation.

Then picked up a 5 pound large mouth cranking ledges. I did experiment more on speed. I cranked the snot out of it and she took it. That sums up 10 hours of my life😂😂😂. I did try a spoon for a bit.
