I remember seeing this performance back in the 80s. As was just a teenager but blowin away! Since that day Cry Me River is one of my all time favorit Song and a huge fan of Mari Wilson.
Iain Meek I wholeheartdly agree. Too many comments here about her hairdo from people who plainly don't know good (seems such a weak word to use for this) music if it hit them over the head.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon on 3 July 1983, I heard this song for the first time by Mari during her performance at Parkpop in The Hague. Stunning it was!! Great to hear her wonderful performance again
Great version of the song, followed very closely by Alison Moyet. The slower tempo by Mari suits the song. Saw Mari Wilson & The Imaginations at Hatfield Polytechnic back in the early 80’s. And what a fab concert it was! Had and still has a great voice. Well done to Neasden’s Queen of Soul.
I learned Cry Me A River for the first time with Mari Wilson singing. Since then, I have heard many other versions and couldn’t find any finer. This song is just made for her.
I saw Ms. Wilson, and The Wilsations, et. al 'all those years ago' (a-Hem!), and, it was one of my favourite live performances I recall. It was full of fun, pathos, and - above all - drama. The 2 violinists a rare video appearance of 'The Prawn Cocktails.
As far as I know, it's Nick Holman on piano. I know his brother Tim who lives in Portreath, Cornwall. I believe Nick was brought up in Cornwall but now lives in London.
It's not a 'jedward' hairstyle, strange or a copy of what you see today...it's a 1960s beehive hairstyle, somewhat more emphasised than what would have been seen at the time. Her fashion and songs were influenced by early 1960s pop music and culture.
Elton Johns Sorry Seems to be the hardest word sounds an awful like the piano in this song. Just a stating what sounds like a familiarity. Mari Wilson is amazing.
this has to be my favourite version of what is my favourite song, and probably the one i emulate when i'm singing it in the shower. alison moyet did a very disappointing version
I forget Julie London's original. London was a mid level semi Hollywood star who displayed some surprisingly good chops long into her career. though a pop music star, London did do a rendition of her song in the first big budget rock and roll film, The Girl Can't Help It(1956) featuring the legendary Eddy Cochran, amongst many others. I really dug pop singer supreme Dinah Washington's take on this, brief though it was. Listening to Mari's I can say you should check out Dinah's . It's pretty darn awesome ,if incomplete. Gonna switch to Dinah's version. this is sadly pretty lame. though I did love Ms. Wilson's Just What i always wanted .Her chops are not up to this one. All my love. xox
highly underrated singer absolutely super talented
Look mum, no auto-tune. Just talent and years of hard work.
Still wonderful 😊 '23
"A propper singer".... So underrated! Pure talent! 💜
Gosh its good! I remember Mari Wilson back in the 80s but I don't think I realised just how good she was then.
Awesome! I cried. I'm a 47-year old man who usually listens to punk, metal, techno, thrash, hip-hop and indie - and this brought tears to my eyes!
Remembered this as if it was yesterday...sigh...
Her hair is so fabulous!
Off the charts great!
my all time favourite song ever. ........
She rocks!

If I could hit like 1,000 times here, I would. Always a stellar piece of her live shows
Brilliant vocals. Lovely piano timbre. Ace strings. All wonderfully tired and worn out.
Iain Meek I wholeheartdly agree. Too many comments here about her hairdo from people who plainly don't know good (seems such a weak word to use for this) music if it hit them over the head.
Mari Wilson made me discover "Cry me a river" and I ended up singing it myself, with her in mind. Beautifully done...
A slower, more heartfelt version than I've heard previously. It's very effective and very well done...

Many tears shed over this song. I love this version
Sweet, sweet and mellow. Marie’s voice is to die for and cry for☝️
Best rendition I've heard of this song!
She's 62 and still performing. Looking good for her age too.
Amazing
She does everything right with this song. Also, all three women get bonus points for terrific hair.
Beautiful. Shes singing from her soul xx
AWESOME, What a talent, what a voice.
Wow. I only knew her from "just what I've always wanted. Great voice, great performance!!
Wow - just wow! Brilliant composition.

So many singers have covered this song and it's my favorite.
The covers are beautiful, but they could never do it like her
omg...i love this
A lovely lady...still going strong...xx
Beautiful ❤️
I was NOT expecting her to be as good as the others I've heard.... BOY was I wrong! Wow!
Absolutely beautiful. I remember seeing it when it was on and being blown away.
she is awesome
What a great singer she is.
Always loved this version the best :)
Smooth as silk!!!
still remember this from the show McCallum, all those years ago
Flawless!
Awesome indeed! just brilliant
flawless
This is such a wonderful performance, very moving
sweet 🎶
Really beautiful and wonderful

Beautifully done. Thank you!
This is just...WOW...amazing LOVE vocals - take that today's crop of Auto-Tune, mime-to-track pop stars.
Beautiful.
Wow a great version and sung beautifully.
Beautiful
What a voice Marie has got.
Magic
best ever
I'm pretty sure this song was the opening and closing theme for 'McCallum'. Really nice version.
C’était génial 👍 qu’est elle devenue

Awesome! Excuse my French but fuck your modern day rapping and the like, this is what you call talent
Totally agree with every word!
Her Trademark. The Queen of Neasden soul did "hive" like nobody. Just ask Peter Ashworth (and his snap).

😳🎤💎
Ever since I heard Susan Boyle limp version of this, I've been looking for the real thing - found it!
The Queen of Neasden.
Who is that on piano?
Elton Johns Sorry Seems to be the hardest word sounds an awful like the piano in this song. Just a stating what sounds like a familiarity. Mari Wilson is amazing.
I also like Julie London's.
Best version after Streisand's
this has to be my favourite version of what is my favourite song, and probably the one i emulate when i'm singing it in the shower. alison moyet did a very disappointing version
That doesn't look like OGWT to me . . . . .
Possibly because Whispering Bob's not there.
I'd choose Alison Moyet, but not by much.
love the song.....can't get past her "Trollie Look" however :-Þ

first time time that a white singer equals a black one
she had the jedward hair doo first
I can't believe this hair 😕it's creepy wtf
If he uses the word plebian to describe love chances are you're barking up the wrong tree, love
Hair styling brought to you buy the electric company.
That is the most distracting hair ever.
