With the launch of our latest last, the Thurman, we based the design on the legendary Munson last and we wanted to create a video that would dive in deep and talk about the story of Edward Munson and how he came to designing THE most recognizable and popular last that's held in high regard to this day. So come with us on this journey across time to discover why to this day, a Munson inspired last, is the last you need to get for your feet!

The Corcoran Jump Boot is my all time favorite boot, even better than my Builder Pros. My next pair will be on the Thurman last.
Nicks Handmade Boots, you guys are raising the bar. Leading the competition.
You guys are the best for offering tactical boots with the Thurman last. I ordered as soon as I saw it was available.
Very informative, well done!
Nicely done! Always enjoy the history of boots.
Well done guys, can't wait for my next pair. Currently have 2 and want at least 2 more. Worth every penny.
Excellent tutorial. First off, hats off to you gentlemen, for keeping the art of handmade boot making alive and well, and for continuing to garner well deserved attention, to it's importance, and/or relevance, in this "throw-away society" of ours today. This is truly an art worth appreciating. I believe that lectures like this go a long way towards educating consumers on the origins and importance of this craft. In life, understanding is key. Productions like this help to garner a whole new generation, of "boot nerds." Please keep up the good work. Cheers....🥃
Love this format keep these historical videos and coming. And would be awesome to commission a full documentary that is brand agnostic and get the local Spokane Historians involved...
I enjoyed this video since I enjoy learning about technology and history.
Loved the video. Now i want to try the munson last. I think redwing did a iron ranger in the munson last a while back.
Hoping to see these in W&C leathers.
Awesome Video, I would love to hear you explain exactly what the differences in the different sections of the last are. I understand there is more toe room, but is the heel and instep area exactly the same and just things forward of that changed or did some slight changes happen all over the last.
Wish y’all would get the sweatshirt you’re wearing, in the larger sizes, back in stock!
He estado viendo sus videos y se ven maravillosas sus botas, quisiera obtener unas, próximamente solicitare un par de urban drifter, saludos!!
Ya'll should make your HotShot boots in Thurman lasts!

Done!
Please make a boondocker Nicks!
Are there any plans to extend the Thurman last to the extended widths....like F?
Interesting and informative. While the other PNW boot companies appear to want to continue business as usual Nick's has been on an all out social media assault such as collaborating with other UA-cam boot personalities. As well as greatly expanding new styles and lasts. The website is easy to navigate and makes purchasing hand made boots less intimidating. Sort of a yelp review but these guys are really on to something big.
Munson was _against_ structured arch support in The Soldier's Foot and the Military Shoe. See page 50, point (o). Structured arch support is definitely a Nick's thing, via Otto White. But I haven't seen any suggestion that it was a Munson thing or a Russet shoe thing. Just the opposite.
Thanks for sharing!
