One of the best party members of dragon quest in general. Is of the more heavy hitting thieves, has quiet a lot of history from the get go. Has a good set of skills both effective to damn hilarious. Man, my pal Yangus can help me in any situation. Now only if I can improve his mp Pool due to his poor magic growth. Seeds alone are bit hard to come across during the early stretch.
Thank you for this video, wanted to remind myself of the DQ8 characters, Yangus is one of my favorites (though really, it's hard not to love them all :D). I'm really thinking towards dusting off my PS2 and plaything this game again, it is so amazing. FF7 and DQ8 are 2 of my favorites jrpgs, and even though i played FF7 before this one, I'm leaning towards DQ8 more because of the amazing atmosphere in the game and possibly some of the best voiceovers in a video game :)
The only thing that bothers me about this is that when the plank breaks off, Yangus is hanging on the far side of the bridge from the wagon. But somehow when the bridge breaks, he ends up on the close side of it.
It occurs to me that we never did figure out how the Hero helped Yangus "go straight". I wish we did; Yangus is one of the best characters in the game, but he didn't get nearly as much backstory as Jessica or Angelo.
Actually, this was the moment he went straight. It is implied that when the game starts, it wasn't too far off from when Trodain fell, as such Yangus turns a new leaf when someone actually helped him, despite the fact he tried to rob, then attacked them. As he mentioned, most people took him as a thug based purely on appearance, so that someone would do an act of kindness for him was all it needed (Especially sense he did make an attempt to turn a new leaf before this)
I think one of the hidden heroes of this game were the translators. "Poetic Justice, nay Divine Justice!" Brilliant.
"Put a sock in it."
Quite possibly one of the game's best lines.
One of the best games ever.
+sideshowshogun29 No way.
+sideshowshogun29 agree, the game is awesome, just finished the game, so happy lol
@@-Constrick- yeah, it IS!! dragon quest 8 and 11 are great, but I like all dragon quests, I even LOVE 6 and 7
"Premission!? PERMISSION!? YOUR bridge lies within MY kingdom, you oaf"
The video was at this part as i was reading the comment xD
I love Yangus. He's such a good hearted idiot :)
COR BLIMEY!
i Love how this game is an epic tale of Friendship and bravery
And Family.
DQ series has and always been about family
Yangus can be surprisingly deep sometimes...
Too bad Yangus dropped his iron axe along with fallen bridge.
Hehe then he wouldn't have been stuck with the club
Sorry for the Kazing but I ended up giving Yangus the unarmed route. Yangus is a damn good barehanded fighter. One of the best really in this game.
Articus Ramos
that's because he has the highest strength in the game unlike others that kinda do look they have to rely on a weapon.
Fine choice to save money, his thin air and knuckle sandwich is real killer. ps. thanks for interest this old comments.

His greatest skill is being able to just annihilate King Metal Slimes on the metal slime cliff
This is why DQ8 hero is my favorite choice in Smash Bros Ultimate
He's the goodest boi
I agree. Character development in videogames in something you don't see anymore =p
I shoulda known a bird wouldn't get a story like ours, guv. Still, no skin off my nose. - Yangus
"Are you thirsty? Are you thirsty? Are you the King?" This is the fast forwarded clip that is also played in reverse.
Yangus is life.

My god Trode’s voice actor is immaculate
And that's how I met my fictional husband

Cool. Looks like 0 people are birds who wouldn't get a story like ours guv.
Well, no skin off my nose

There is that DQ8 prequel where you play as young Yangus in a mystery dungeon setting, kinda like Torneko's game
BULLA!
YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT 3:34
Let's go. KNICKERS?!
Pants?! What about pants?! YOU GOT PROBLEMS WITH PANTS?!? YO GONNA HOPE YOU GOT NO PROBLEM WITH EM.
