    Got a love it when you're missing a screw or when you have one extra.

    The video was helpful. I was confused if I should leave window up or down. But the blame here is on Nissan. Why didn’t they leave an access door to the handle so that we don’t have to take all that stuff off? Not all girls come with a boyfriend/mechanic. 🙄

    I appreciate the video. I am getting ready to change my daughter's Altima handle. I got a bit skeptical when I heard you mention the words "interesting" and "intense". Knowing what I know about Nissan they over engineer everything and there seems to be a thousand extra steps to repair what should be a simple repair. I wonder how many WTFs? were said when the video was sped up in timelapse?
    Thanks again

      No sheet A 15 minute video with over 45 minutes fast forward . A true god forsaken nightmare. My car has three out of four broken

      Woulda been nice if u explained stuff as u did it. Instead of fast forwarding thru everything..Not good when u try to explain stuff after the fact instead of why u are doing it..Good thing there are clearer vids of this on u tube that actually explain stuff..
      Great try though...

    worked great thanks alot. for me the 2 hardest parts were getting rods back onto new handle and more so remounting motor and arms so window goes all the way up and all bolts line up on inner metal panel. was pain in the ass but its done!

    Good video. This job is a bit of a pita but worth doing yourself, all I’d recommend is putting some strong tape over the top of the door holding the glass up, makes it easier for realigning the power window bolts

    The new after market door handles are stronger than the original ones? if not you will have to do this over and over again, I got 3 broken ones so far, Nissan got great engines but cheap plastic japanese parts.

      RICHARD F yeah we have found a wide variety of quality when it comes to plastic parts, the door handles especially as they are used as levers, APDTY has been selling door handles for over 14 years and we spent the first 6 years going through a few sub par manufacturers, we now have a manufacturer that reinforces the handles, especially the weak points, they have been excellent and we don’t worry about them anymore, lots is options exist online though and cheaper is definitely not always better

    I only wish mine worked when it was replaced. Tried the blue adjustment where the rod sits, but seems like it's off by 10mm. Compared the new handle with the old and looks identical. Can't figure out why it doesn't work. Handle works from the inside also works from the outside if I manually push the blue plastic where the rod sits.

    Its way easier to take the window out before taking off the black inside panel. You have more room for your hands.

    I reattached the original broken handle, using a combination of super glue and baking soda. I still have the aftermarket replacement handle at the ready, should the patch job fail.

    I followed this method of leaving the glass in, and it worked fine. I rather not remove the glass from the door. I unbolted motor and window track from regulator as shown in video.

  • @IvanRossS
    @IvanRossS 6 років тому +2

    Thank you for the video but it's a total fucking nightmare I wish I knew before I start pulling everything out... here's a little tip: you do not have to remove speakers, there are two little holes that covered my round tape and I recommend you to srew in track first, before you screw a cover all the way around. It's easier that way to play around with a cover then trying to align holes on track for the bolts. Also lower down a window just a little bit if it's all the way up.. u gonna have big pressure on a track and it's very very hard to put them back on

    How much is the labor cost?

    • @Russell-rc6qq

    So window removal isn't required?

    • @Russell-rc6qq
      @Russell-rc6qq Рік тому +1

      It's optional and recommended but not required. This guy did the job the hard way. The easier way is to take the window out and keep the window regulator intact with the sub-panel and remove the whole unit.

    I have a 2004 Nissan Altima which ALL FOUR door handles have broken in the same exact fashion in which this guy is fixing. HOW about, instead of repairing these after a few years, you guys make a door handle that actually lasts as long as the car does? Novel idea, I know. ALL FOUR. I have NEVER had a car (and I've had plenty of different makes and models) where the door handle broke. Not once, not twice, not three times, but ALL FOUR. Love your cars, your door handles suck.

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  6 років тому +3

      Don Snyder yeah so your beef is with Nissan and really all the other car manufacturers that design these car, we are an aftermarket parts company and in the same boat as you as we r just trying to help fix the car back to its original condition for as low a cost as possible, when possible we redesign a part but the cost of that is extreme and we have over a million part numbers so we can only do that on very small quantity of part numbers

    DO NOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS IN THIS VID... THIS IS COMPLETELY WRONG...WATCH OTHER VIDS ON THIS FIRST AND JUST PULL THE BOLTS AROUND THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF INTERIOR PANEL...THEN PULL THE 2 WINDOW BOLTS AND REMOVE IT... PANEL WILL COME OFF WITH EVERYTHING ON INSIDE ATTACHED...AGAIN DO NOT PULL ALL THE BOLTS ...YOU WILL CAUSE YOURSELF A LOT OF EXTRA WORK AND AGGRIVATION...
    You need to pull this vid you told people the hardest way to try to do this... With the most work and aggrivation....
    AGAIN DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS VID...WATCH OTHER VIDS ON YOU TUBE FOR THE ACTUAL WAY TO DO THIS AND A LOT LESS WORK (EASIER)

    You really need to work on something first before trying to teach others how to do something. Not trying to be sarcastic, just stating the facts.
