Sydney, I think a video that goes more in depth about coaching and the education/credential part of it would be great! That could be helpful for people who want to become a coach but also for people who are thinking about hiring a coach for them to know what to look for in a coach. Love the video so much!!
Katelyn, a brief answer would be - it depends on what you want to focus on within the health & wellness industry. There are no rules or regulations in most US states in order to call yourself a coach/trainer, however many jobs will not take on candidates who do not have the credentials and/or experience. Yet, that does not a stop people from creating their own businesses etc. which is why it's important to be mindful of who you are trusting to guide you through your own personal process to ensure that person is well educated and experienced enough. There are so many ways to become a health and wellness coach and even many colleges now offer accredited programs to earn the certifications that interest you. I say pick an area and just start and as Sydney was saying, you'll eventually build your knowledge base and toolbox whether you are looking for a coach or working to become one. I have so much more I could say, because I had so many questions at the start of my own wellness journey as well my journey to becoming a wellness professional; but hopefully this was a helpful start! Well wishes 😊
@@asiadenicethank you for the info! I have a coach that I love and know the value of them, but also have been considering getting some certifications not for a business but for the knowledge. I am a nurse practitioner and would love to extend any knowledge I have to my patients and family and think some of the certifications would be helpful to have. Thanks again! I hope you have a blessed day!
Love this so much, especially talking about moving to more Whole Foods / well rounded rather than just macro friendly. That’s why I look at it as more of a wellness journey now than just fitness!
Sydney this was SOOOOOOOOOOO helpful. Thank you for sharing this information! I really feel like you hit on a lot of different areas that I struggle with. And man did the starting over part really hit home for me. Love this video!! I definitely will rewatch this when I am feeling overwhelmed.
I relate SO much with being the same height since fourth/fifth grade, having a period before it was spoken of in class, and developing hyper awareness to my body at a young age with long lasting image issues. Thank you for your inspiration today and every day!
I totally get where you're coming from! Gaining confidence and sticking to your goals can be a challenge, but it’s all about finding what works for you and staying consistent. Keep pushing forward, and don’t forget to celebrate the small wins along the way! You got this!
I love the mention about alcohol!!!! I was sober curious for so long and felt such awkwardness around going out and not drinking. After watching your videos it inspired me to choose my personal values around alcohol and I’m so happy I did :)
This video hit home with me. My sister and I are also 3 years apart, me being younger and total different body types. I grew up always being uncomfy in the summer at the pool and whatnot. You are my biggest inspiration when it comes to the gym and this video really gave me a new level of love for you!!🥹🫶🏼
One thing that we try to do with our friends is doing something or extending the date after dinner to doing something more active / fun. It ensures you don’t over eat so that you don’t feel sick for the after event/date planned and you are still being active and moving instead of going home and heading straight to bed! (Walking around the mall, roller blading, ice skating, go karts, there are so many light activity date ideas!)
Hi Sydney love your videos! Not sure if you’ve already done a video on this, but i’d love to know if you have any tips on how to prevent injury and how to recover/prevent DOMS? I’m sure you probably have a warmup or post workout routine which in my opinion would be great content
I’ve been struggling with chronic costrochondritis (sternum injury) meaning I can’t do any upper body workouts or use my arms to carry or lean on- it has held me back so much as I’m going on 2 years but I’m learning to do the things I can like walking and lower body workouts but it can be so discouraging i just keep trying to remind myself it’s a blessing do be able to move what I can
Would love a video on education of how to track macros of foods you make at home! For example, homemade chicken salad and then how to track the macros of the portion size you weigh out. This is something I struggle with so much!
The umbilical hernia! I have one and haven't had it removed, but am super self conscious about it😢 How can I workout until I'm able to have it removed??
Agh 😭 that’s how mine was too from birth! I got hernia surgery years back to have it fixed and have mesh in my belly but then a few years back I had my abdominal separation repaired (also have had since birth!) and had 3 hernias down the center of my abdominal muscles
@ was recovery hard? And was it worth it? I’ve had doctors tell me it’s not necessary unless I’m in pain, so I don’t know if insurance would cover it or if it’s even worth the hassle. But you can literally see my belly button through my shirt sometimes, and I’m in pretty decent shape. It’s frustrating.
Girllllll you are so smart! Thank you sharing your knowledge and experience 🤍 I have learned so much from you but this video was chefs kiss 💋 I want to send it to everyone I know who is looking to up level their fitness!!
love this 🤍 such a pure soul and an inspiration
