Thank you for this. I too am a "church girl" !! My hair still has relaxer on the ends but I was thinking to start doing two strand twist to achieve the look and only flat iron when its time for a trim every 10-12 weeks. previously was getting a silk press every 6-8 weeks with protective styles in between like knotless braids or sew in weave.

I tried this banding method with low expectations but in the morning my hair actually looked amazing! I thought it would ruin my curls or be flat but it preserved my wash n go so well. Thank you for these tips!

What am I doing wrong? One dawg on day,that’s all I get. Frizzy and dry after one day!😢
Same with me I’m trying to get it down 😩
I use 2 leave ins one light one slightly heavier then I use a shea butter I mixed with Ayurvedic herbs and an essential oil then I add my gel. Refresh as needed
Try switching up the products you’re using!
I have to use the LCO method. No matter what I use, if I don’t seal with oil before my gel, it will get dry & frizzy. I use Melanin hair care deep conditioner, leave in conditioner, and curl cream and aloe Vera juice is the liquid & I mix avocado oil, grape seed oil, and jojoba oil for the oil in my LCO method.

Super stretched hair can get super straight. If you stretch it with bands a single time, it will likely look lightly blown out.

The banding doesn't work for me! It crushes my curls, and ruins the patterns
that can happen depending on your hair type, and it usually works better for more coarse hair and if you use heavier gels!
