Hi friend! I have a couple of existing videos on these topics linked below and more to come :) Some of these are from when I was at a previous job so things have changed a little. Your experience as a dietitian really depends on the area/specialty and environment/setting that you work in! My experiences are just one of many! Do you need volunteer hours to become a Dietician? And what does the interview process look like? I am based in Canada and my local university interviews the selected applicants since it is a competitive program.
Hey Ireany! I'm Michelle and I live in Rio. Could you make a video on why you decided personally to become a RD? In the U.S. you guys have much more requirements to one than in Brazil, even the grad school is quite different! It is every interesting tho.
Hello,I'm a foreigner and currently studying bachelor's degree(food and nutrition) in my country .Let me know,do i need to have bachelor's degree from U.S accredited school?
Hi Ireany, 1. why did you decide to become a dietitian instead of biochemist back then? (I’m being indecisive on which route I should take) 2. Which undergraduate school did you go to? Tysm!!
Hey there! I decided to become a dietitian because of how much I loved nutrition. Most of the career paths for biochemistry are in academia/research or lab work, both of which I am not really a fan of. I started out as a biochem major at The University of Texas at Austin because I was interested in going into healthcare but wasn't sure which field to pursue. The major met most of the prerequisites for graduate school regardless of which healthcare profession I decided to pursue, whether that's pharmacy, medicine, dietetics, etc.
Hi, one more question, when did you start the internship, like is it after completing the MS program or whenever student enter the program they have white coat ceremony? Thanks
Please help me I have completed my bachelor's in food processing and engineering a d masters in microbial and food technology from indian university. I want to become a registered dietitian for that please guide me either i took another masters in nutrition and dietitics or go for dietitics intership in usa And which university is best to go
Hey there! You will need to have your coursework evaluated to determine if it meets the ACEND requirements. You may have to take some additional classes and will probably need to complete a dietetic internship as well. Here's some information from the Academy's website: www.eatrightpro.org/acend/students-and-advancing-education/international-students They also have a list of accredited US schools and programs on the website that you can look through to find one that best fits your needs.
Hello…coordinated program in nutrition and dietitics in Dominican university (illinois)with duration of one year….will that be as valuable as a two year masters degree?very confused..please help with this clarification 🥲
The value of the different degrees varies from person to person. I can't tell you for certain which one would be more valuable. You have to weigh the costs and benefits in your own situation for that. But if you aren't eligible to take the RD exam in 2023, you will NEED a master's degree to be eligible to take the exam in 2024 or after, regardless of what you did for undergrad.
hi ,can you make a video about your working life, how you feel about being a dietitian, the salary etc? would love to see that😊
