  • If it wasn’t for those huge roots, I would have dug the holes. I took the day off, doctor, groceries, nap. Tomorrow, I put the solenoid n bevs car, then the next day, I’ll get back to work on the fence. I’m so close to being done I can taste it!

Amazing that Breezy can JUMP up like that at 15! Lucy Belle is a happy dog! You must have the BIGGEST Backyard in Waskom. Old roots never die, they just get bigger and harder.. If you can't beat em, OUTSMART em! Happy Day!

Breezy has had very good health, except for his teeth. I’m hoping he’ll make it a couple more years. We normally have the yard to our house closed off from the dogs unless one of us is down there, but the yard to our house is still plenty big enough to make a dog feel like they are running free.

When I was in the Army, we had a lot of vehicles that sat in the motor pool that didn't move except for exercises. This caused a lot of problems. Just like Bev's car. You have to drive a vehicle so it will keep working.

Brad, it's probably too late now, but you need a root chopper. I made mine from a 7 foot length of Schedule 80 2" pipe from a scrap dealer, and an axe head from the same lad, that had a crack through the eye. I cut the hammer part off and forges the eye more or less closed, then cut a slit to fit the axe head in the pipe and welded it. You place the pipe in the hole on the root, Axe head is edge down then the pipe is vertical.lift the pipe about 2 feet and drop it a few times (Don't let go, you don't want that to fall over on your head...) and the root is gone in no time...

I only have one more hole to dig, and hopefully,,,,, I never have to do this again. If I did, I would certainly make something to beat those roots into submission. 😂

When I dug my ditch to drain water from my screen porch, I hit a root that ended up being part of a stump.
Took me 3 days with a pick axe and a blow torch to cut deep enough to lay the drain pipe 🤨

I’ve seen some really triggered people leaving nasty comments on peoples videos, it’s mind boggling to think a few get kicks out of being so mean and hateful.
I told my mother the other day that I would never have thought people can be so hateful to others.
Putting up fencing is not for the faint of heart, it’s hard work sometimes.
The fur babies are a true joy that makes life better.
Have a blessed day everyone and stay healthy!

The keyboard has sure changed society. When you’re safe from a nose punching, some folks feel emboldened to say what they want with no repercussions.

If it's not a root, it's a rock. A backhoe would have been very nice to have in this type of situation, but that would have been too easy, can't have that. Who would have thought the end would be an uphill battle?

The end, doesn’t want the good times to end. I took yesterday off. This morning I worked on Bev’s car. Still not starting. Starter replacement is next. Now, I’m going down the hill to conquer the roots.

Breezy chasing rabbits! Thanks for including it. Reminds me of days when 3 of the 4 in our den were napping. One of them was chasing rabbits, too. (Treasured memory).
Another memory is when many (most?) people, replying to YT comments, were unhappy with the 500 character limit. Days before smartphones, when people used physical keyboards. Seems that fewer people comment these days or use far less than those 500 characters to get their message across. At least that may have stopped some ignorant Karens who don't take time to 2 finger a comment. Suspect it takes more characters to complain than to encourage a content creator.
    ? Smartphone, 1 liner? Keyboard , motor mouth? 🙂
Hope your doc visit went well. Prayers for you and your back, today.
God Bless. Godspeed to you and Charly, this Tuesday morning.

I think society in general has descended into anger and hatefulness. I think the keyboard is just one indication, another is how evil and vengeful some folks get when they have a steering wheel in their hands.

@@bctruck That's why I dread taking Sis to the big city for doctor appointments. Traffic is crazy. But, sometimes I do have to laugh when that fool, weaving in and out of traffic ahead of me, ends up at stoplights at the same time I do.

Lucybelle is 12 years old. I remember the day we brought her home. She was 5-6 weeks old. Way too young to be taken off her momma. The guy was on his way to the pound with her. All our dogs have found their way into our lives.
