In this 1955 children's religious and cultural educational film, viewers are introduced to the origins of contemporary American Christmas celebrations and to other common Christmas traditions around the world. The film starts with American children preparing a carol for a pageant. Their teacher informs them that the pageant will also feature children from different cultures demonstrating their own Christmas traditions. Many of these traditions are also the origin of American Christmas customs that the children know and celebrate themselves.

Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Merry Christmas to All!
And to all a good night.🎅🏼
The host is Fran Allison of Kukla, Fran and Ollie. I have a very faded Eastman color print of this.
My mom was Prussian and Italian, so I got the Double Barrel Christmas. Tree and Star and Nativity Scenes in Every room. LOL Christmas was Thee Bigg To Do. 4' tree on a 4x8 platform with trains and villages, tinsel garland on every doorway, wreathes on the front door and back door and side door, farolitos down the driveway, lights outlining the house, pile of grass on the porch, cookies and whiskey for Santa, spray snow stencils on the windows and that giant styrofoam Santa's head. the velvet sunset painting would come down and the Santa head and two sconces would go up with tinsel garland strung between the scones under the Santa head. BIGG To Do. LOL now look at me. Santa anyone?
A very nice film.
fröhliche Weihnachten!

🎄TRUE HISTORY 🙏🏻🇺🇲
Sooooooo, teaching children about different customs and about being happy and a bit of history??? Lets put and end to that.
One of the mothers found out they were learning about other lands and started screaming about speaking english.
Hahahaha! Bible stories! Hahahaha!
Jeremiah 10:2-4
[2]Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
[3]For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
[4]They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
@@Isaiah-14.29 Hahahahaha! More Bible stories! Hahahaha!
