IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad is a World War II combat flight simulator released in 2013. A combined effort of 1C Company, the publisher of IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover, and 777 Studios, developers of Rise of Flight, it inherits the name IL-2 Sturmovik from the IL-2 Sturmovik franchise series (2001-2011) and is included in the general series although it runs the DirectX 9 Rise of Flight game engine, known as Digital Nature and originally created in 2009. This new entity is making the first IL-2 game since the original developer, Maddox Games, was dissolved by 1C. BF109, HE-111, Bf 109F-4

Lots of great sims. Falcon 4 BMS, DCS, Strike Fighters 2, Flanker 2.5, Rise of Flight, IL-2... I can't wait to play DCS and War Thunder on Oculus Rift :D

I dont think DCS has better damage model than this game but it also pretty realistic. DCS is the only sim game about jet that realistic

Great video, except for the lowering of undercarriage before crash landing. On any surface other than a runway, having your wheels down is going to cause the plane to flip over onto its back and trapping you in the cockpit. If a crash landing is inevitable, find a place with no trees, cut the engine and glide in, full flaps and keep your nose up.

I don't know where you went to the flight school and I don't even think you ever was but in my flightschool I never have learned that!
Lower your gear to land but flare the plane before touchdown.

No, I'm not a pilot. I'm just referring to this simulator because in most of those crash landings they tiped over, that's what I meant... watch closely... ;)

smokemagnet The reason is easy: he never learned on a flight school how to land correctly. His flare before touchdown is too weak and in the case he can't flare enough: his airspeed is too low (maybe tailwind).
And then you have to pull the stick the whole time until taxi speed and no mechanical brakes.

If I had a computer lie that, and have Oculus Rift or TrackIR, I'd be so kickass! xD I'm good at maneuvering in aircraft, but my problem is my view. Sometimes I will lose aircraft because they will simply VANISH, or when I use my HAT key to look around the "jerkiness" makes me lose sight of the aircraft. By the time I finally see him again, he's on my ass, pelting me.
