In Dynasty warriors 6 When Me and my brother fought lu bu we played Rock Paper scissors To Decided Who distracts Him While The other one Kills dong zhuo
Lu Bu wasn't that hard, even when your stats is low, just use hit and run tactic. if your health is low, just hit with Musou attack, run away, Musou full, hit him again, until he died.
It's very unclear. The whole plot was set up by Wang Yun. First he invited Lu Bu over and said that one day he can marry his apparently beautiful daughter. Lu Bu really liked that idea. Then Wang Yun invited Dong Zhou over and made the same offer. Dong Zhou being the self-centred tyrant he was demanded he take her as a con-concubine immediately. Upon hearing this Lu Bu was enraged and decided to slay Dong Zhou. Or so that's how the story supposedly goes.

Damn 6 was great as my childhood... I remember running to Dong Zhuo... When I reached there, in the middle of the fight I look back, then shit... It's him.
According to the three kingdoms, Lu Bu actually retreated when he fought Zhang Fei, Guan Yu and Liu Bei at the same time because they would run circles around him with their horse and it caused him to tire out and retreat. So I guess it is possible to defeat Lu Bu with the trio after all
I love dw3 the most becuz 1. The Soldier has genuine fear in his voice. 2. Lu Bu just runs straight past them TO YOU. 3. He 1-Shots a CAPTAIN within a blink of an eye.
Only in Dynasty Warriors 8 you can see Lu Bu not totally invincible but still a beast to be reckoned with. Dian Wei held his ground against Lu Bu in Hu Lao gate and Sun Ce managed to push Lu Bu back for a moment in one of Lu Bu’s mission campaigns.

Dynasty Warriors 3 was prob the biggest one. Since your level and weapon was so low in the beginning if you use your special. it won't stun him but instead just phase him out so he can still hit you while in animation. So the best option while he goes for your commander you just go right by him to Dong Zhou. But yea, he's a complete havoc of a monster.
Me I figured when I first played Dynasty Warriors 6 that it would be easy found out the hard way the dude was a monster I had to max out my character before I could finally kill him
Granted that Japanese voice acting is really good, the english version of Lu Bu at Hu Lao Gate in DW4 was much funnier. Soldier: "IT'S LU BU! LU BU'S COME TO DESTROY US! Lu Bu strikes him Soldier: "UUUUOOOAAHH"!
I remember lu bu from DW4 very well every time he appeared I was like oh no not this monster again. and if you accepted his duel that was an absolute nightmare and his strong attack where he stabs you and lift you Into the air followed by him just evaporating what hp you had. Bonus if you knock him from red hare you can take it for yourself.
His arrival in DW6 was so good. coming from DW5 where you have to beat him first before the main hu lao gate open into this cutscene after the siege gave me chills back then. although to be honest, DW8 Lu Bu is the most troublesome for me. keep him i the air long enough with fire based attack is usually the besr strat (other than red hp strat) but not in DW8 i guess. keep him in the air too long and he will just back flip and do aerial musou and nuke your progress.
i remember running around in circles until my musou recharged then attack lu bu repeat the process ... got ultimate weapon for zhao yu after defeating him
heres what the difference between history of 3 kingdom and dynasty warrior at batte of hulau gate 1. real 3k history doenst have any records about battle of hulau gate, its only in the novel 2. zhao yun didnt join the battle when the warlords fighting lubu and dong zhuo 3. caocao and lubu already know each other before this bsttle in the real history 4. sun jian's son sun quans is only 9 years old by the time they fight lubu. and sun shanxiang is still a baby (wu forces)
Would also like to add that while Lubu was indeed a skilled warrior in actual history, he’s more of an archery guy, and he’s definitely not the monster in combat that the novel made him out to be With that being said tho, I really like his novel counterpart, something about the idea of a Chinese Kratos just sounds epic
One of my childhood gaming nightmares. DW4/5, Hulao Gate, hearing the cutscenes jingle, followed by entire army morale drop SFX and Lu Bu starts to kick everyone asses. Good times.
I like how in DW9 a nobody soldier has anime combat commentator ability: being able to freely talk during a slowed/stopped time. he might secretly multiclassing as a bard too.
my first time fighting lubu on dw3: "What are these peasants afraid of I can take him B-)" Also me: gets K.O'd in one hit immediately regrets decision future me: continuously knocks him off his horse and runs away but accidentally killed diao chan XDDD

I took red hare and machao and was just going to the enemy base but sometimes when I did it in 2P mode we just tried to smash lubu so hard that he never ever touched the ground again and got him down that way. It was a good time.
It's always funny to me that they actually need everyone available just to fight him, it's like he is Thanos in the DW universe 😂 but then again... he can one shot you easily in the early game.
I remember when i was a kid on DW2 i play with my favorite character (Dian Wei) all the time when he appeared. I try everytime to beat him in Normal but even normal difficult the game was hard... So i start to play with each character on Easy, Normal and Hard 😆 at that time there's not a lot of content in the game! it was a classic beat em up.
I like dw9's depiction of him. But the best memories wld be dw4 and 5 because he was super OP! Even on easy! And i really missed the bodyguard system from 3 and 4! The nostalgia!
When I was playing this level first time in DW6, my friends challenged me to defeat lu bu. I thought what's there in one man but when I went to him, I got death in 3 hits instantly. From that day, I fear lu bu whenever I play as opponent to him!😬
Dw4 did it best imo. The duel feature made it even better. Like being in a cage with a lion. But seeing whole groups against lubu in 8 is an extremely close second.

I never played the others but in dynasty warriors 6, your horse is very powerful. I can defeat lu bu at Hu Lao Gate with low level character but lvl 5 horse. It took only 2 or 3 hits from the horse.
First real encounter with lubu was dynasty warriors 3 was playing as Zhang fei, luby walks up on the scene and I'm like okay, red horse dude looks like a doof and the peasant soldiers are scared, I'm a famous officer so this should be simple. It took me f seconds to realize who this dude was and why I shouldn't engage. Then I accidentally hit and killed diao chan... I also found out lubu can spawn new horses too !!
