I learned from this video, good job, thanks. Also, very Impressed with your no 'cussing' standards. It's a very good point that younger family members might be watching. 😇
Thanks for a great video? Do you think this can be done at home with hairdryer, solder tin and solder? My phone is 'reverse' charging. And or not taking charge at all. Regardless of MFI cable or not. Thanks for every and any insight.
Hi Audun! Thanks for watching. With a hair dryer? Unfortunately, no. I don't think that can be done. Most pros can remove the chip with only a large soldering iron but for putting a new chip back on you would still need a professional hot air station. I've seen the whole job done with a small butane torch but again, that's going to take advanced soldering skills and can cause more harm than good if done incorrectly. I hope you found this information helpful.
@@audunjemtland8287 the copper stuff is solder wick. It basically captures the solder from the board. A solder sucking desoldering gun would probably not be a great idea unless you found a very small and precise/fine tipped one. These pads are very small. Technically, all of the solder doesn't necessarily need to be removed from the pads. Its probably best to remove all of the old solder and clean the pads but as long as the bulk of it is removed and all of the pads have roughly the same amount of solder left on each pad, then a skilled technician can just flow the new chip right on top of it. Hope that answers your question.
No. The new solder is on the bottom of the chip already. I put the chip in place, heat from the bottom and from the top and the solder under the chip melts to the pads on the board. Thanks for watching! 😊
Ohhh.. No buddy dropped a like yet.. How about I do that for you? Huh? BTW I watched a previous video of yours repairing another ordinary Phone from Apple, Cant help wondering why anyone would prefer such an ordinary brand, especially when there other brands sold for half as much and what's more many more features to them..
Thanks for the like! I'm not going to lie, I do enjoy seeing that "thumbs up" number go up! lol. Hey, KorAllRBare, believe it or not, that last video I did, that you're mentioning, I remembered something you said in a previous comment and I kind of thought that I didn't go into enough detail on that one. It's been a while and I think I was a bit rusty on the delivery of the information. I tried to do better in this video, hopefully I did. KorAllRBare, I will be honest with you, I'm not really an apple user. I'm not sure about the "sold for half as much" statement, my Note 10+ was definitely over a grand. lol. I do think the tech in it is way better, though. I just got this phone a few weeks ago. I did think about getting the newest iPhone for a minute. What kills it for me is that I can't add more storage to it if I want to. Being able to add a microSD card is soooo nice!!! Anyways, I hope you and your family are doing well! Happy New Year! :)

Straight to the point. I like that. Thanks for the video.
