Congratulations for being an expectant mother. I am sorry that the expected baby has cleft lip and palate. Please watch videos in my channel. I can assure that these babies lead normal life like any other child born without cleft. Yes, no doubt, there is a need to visit hospitals quite a few times and requires 2 surgeries during first year of life. If palate is operated around 9 months without any complication, the speech is likely to be almost normal. Hearing also may not be affected significantly. You need to be mentally prepared to bring up the child with few challenges. Rest is job of surgeon and his/her team of care givers. Don't worry, God is there to help you.

Sir surjey ke kitne din bad neasal stent lagana hota hai aur use kitna fayda hota hai please jarur jabab dijiye
cleft lip nose surgery ke baad nasal stent ya conformer 2 weeks ke baad lagana shuru karna chahiye. Isko minimum 6 weeks lagana chahiye. Par baad mein bhi 1 mahine aur lagana achchha hai. Fayada to definitely hota hai, par surgery ka substitute nahi hai. conformer se shape maintained rahta hai aur swelling thoda jaldi jata hai

Meri beti (4.5yrs) ko cleft palate ki problem thi. Iska cleft palate ka operation PGI CHANDIGARH mein hua tha. Pahla operation 18 month mein hua tha. Par isme fistula problem ki wazah se dusra operation 3 months ke baad fir hua. Hum speech therapy bhi Kara rahe hai. Par beti ko bolne mein problem hai, iske nasal sound aati hai.

Speech therapy continue rakhiye. Yadi improve nahi hota hai to 5 year mein speech assessment karna chahiye aur jaroorat hui to endoscopy karna chahiye. Uske baad decision lete hain ki aage kya karna hai.
