What a treat, thanks , Glen and thanks for uploading! Saw the Frames together with dEUS in Hamburg, what a night, too! Let´s bring this energy back! And see you in the crowd!
@@womanatwittsend We fumbled upon them right about this particular era almost exactly... but in Seattle, WA. My 5 yr old and I. I was a supporter of KEXP.org and they randomly invited those of us in that $tier to free shows w/ or w/o much notice. It was very extreme in the dynamics and volume... especially as we were seated up front... but oh so rich and full at both ends of the spectrum. my son loved it... And then I remembered "THE Commitments"! Oh Glen ;) Life IS beautiful, isn't it!?
@@PHJoy Yes. I have always spoken of his talent, especially during The Frames era, to build a song with so many of his songs. To set a tone. Bring it to a crescendo and then back down again. Cathartic and satisfying food for the soul.
@@womanatwittsend It's funny, it must be endless revolving lockdowns making me really crave the connection of a live gig, but I've been revisiting the Frames a lot over the last few days. For me, the Dance the Devil, For the Birds, Burn the Maps version of the Frames is the golden era. They were so incredible during that period. This gig is a good example and if you search UA-cam for "The Frames Live in Sydney", there's a fantastic gig which brought me right back to seeing them live in those days. But, you're right. Glen's career path has been quite a path. It's cool that he took most his Frames bandmates with him on the journey and kept them as the bones of his live band.
This takes me right back. I saw them whenever they had gigs in Dublin, and when Burn the Maps was launched, I saw them about 3-4 times in a week between various shows in music stores, a radio program audience, in pubs 👍
Wonderful , magic ... the set list is incredible , they performs sieben songs from their last work Burn the Maps , one of the best recordings they did ... the best for me .
OMG...this reminds me so much thje concert ive seen 2010 in hamburg pf the frames...it was the best concert ever..and now this video!! Thanks for posting it, it lightens my day!!! :D
Occasionally in Dublin, but rare now. Glen is a solo artist now, although the band are still his backing musicians (but I think he had a different softer/folky sound now)
sorry to tell, Glen jumped another quality level going solo ! There is too much this kind of loud "Minestrone"-music , one sounds like the other......Glen his a sale, his ! But we all need to grow , to search , to climb .....

Man I hate that I discovered them too late to see The Frames live like this, I love Glen and all but DAMN
Understood and yet we live in an era where via YuTube I have walked so much of Glens path. And it's quite a path.

Hey at least you discovered him/ The Frames.
Favourite moment at 12:09 when Glen flips the bird at the camera; glorious!

I've been looking for Sideways Down live for a while now!! Thanks so much for posting, best band there is! :)
epic gig, epic band.
What a perfect set list!
I'd be pissed too if I had a camera flying over me while I was performing. Good on him.
Oh I love it :D
Thank you!
lucky man! jajaj cheers from argentina!
nice to not have to watch it in bits no mo
Play to us a song from "ONCE"!.. Right, it won't happend until next year.
What’s the flipping the bird bit at 12:10 all about? I’m sure there’s a good story there 😆
fu*k i want more 57 mins is not enough!
Not sure why, but that made me laugh. Think it was the use of the word 'badass'. I agree though.
maybe it has something to do with 15:30.
...and not a cellphone in sight
Thanks for show, it's amazing, but... did you see 12:10 ?! How un-Glen-ish is that?!
I think the sweeping camera coming far too close pissed him off. Always worth getting to know what the context of this was.
Can somebody explain to me that weird accent Glen's doing at 29:50?
Sounds like "czenglish" - when common Czech person try to speak english (find some speeches of our president and you will know what I mean ;) ) :D
Do they still play out as a band at all? I saw them once in 2010 and it was fucking incredible!

Haha, maybe he hates when the Cameras distract his piece of art.
