If you’re curious Phil, Destiny before the 21 second clip you saw on Twitter had just spent the past 3 hours going through about 6 or 7 Trump supporters on Twitter like he was doing some Elden Ring boss rush lmao. His main opponent was a woman who’s entire career consists of gassing up Trump, but only 20 mins into the discussion with Destiny it came out that she didn’t know that people actually broke into the capital (she straight up thought there wasn’t proof before Destiny linked multiple videos of it) and she had zero clue about how Trump poised fake electors from 7 different states in order to try and get them passed in the chaos of the insurrection. Even posed with this, they would deny, deny, deny - full shaggy defence. This is why Destiny says he’s done with the kiddie gloves for conservatives, because they’ve hit a point nowadays where they are literally traitors to the US constitution and are completely separated from reality.
While I don't completely agree with Destiny on a moral level, it has been very funny seeing every conservative talking head who made violent threats on Twitter expose themselves as absolute hypocrites by trying to morally grandstand over Destiny. The 100% reality is that the 2/3rds of the U.S. and vast majority of the world's population agrees with what Destiny is saying, but most never said it out loud or only to close friends and family.
It’s closer to 50% than 2/3rds and that goes for the world’s population as well. There are many populist and right conservative movements with a lot of support (40-50%) in many countries from Latin America to Europe. I had no idea who Destiny was before this. But his facial expressions made me crack up so much! I wouldn't say something so crass about the firefighter, but going to that rally and bringing his family says a lot about his character. Destiny's entirely right in that you can objectively realize it's a bad action without feeling much empathy. Him being shot and killed is protecting his family is obviously terrible. In reference to the Destiny situation, there's a paradox about a tolerant society and how it's supposed to deal with intolerance. Supposedly the solution is that a tolerant society cannot be tolerant to intolerance and will lead to it's inevitable downfall and so a tolerant society cannot be tolerant of intolerance. I think this is similar to what Destiny is saying: A party riddled and bolstered with discarding empathy should not be critical when the other party discards their empathy toward them. Not feeling empathy for people who routinely refuse to empathize with us doesn't seem like some terrible, evil thing to me. I would never call for violence and I would never cheer for it or endorse it but it makes it harder to shed a tear when those who were attacked tend to spew the most hate. I can't help but wonder how much empathy the Republican party would express had Biden been the target of a threat instead

One of my biggest problems with Destiny is that when he does make a good point. He manages to make it in such an awfully angry and bitter way. That he tanks any good from the point in the first place. Making me not want to deal with it. I will look elsewhere for my moral standards thanks.
When it comes to Destiny, a lot of what he said on Piers... came from a place where someone was being truthful but not presenting it eloquently and mindful to not roll in the same paint the others are painted in. Dave Rubin has said some vile shit and the amount of people like him, it'd be a war to call them all out. My understanding of Destiny's argument is that from a personal view point, Corey Comperatore's death is a tragedy but from an impersonal/group perspective, he was part of a group that promotes rhetoric that includes violence and division. Destiny is basically saying play stupid games, win stupid prizes but for a group. I only partially agree with Destiny. It is harder to use that logic when it comes to a group tan an individual that does something dangerous and ends up with bad consequences. I do think that both sides are responsible for increasingly extreme rhetoric and that from my perspective Trump/conservatives have been responsible for a larger amount. Destiny's wording is also more extreme than necessary and doesn't help the situation with regards to rhetoric becoming more extreme.
I agree destinys optics are aggresive, but right wing media pundits are not acknowledging trumps attempt to undermine the democratic process. It makes me wonder what percent of trumps loyalists even know about his calculated attempt to falsify electoral votes. Given this dont you feel the anger for these types is warranted?

The Destiny interview made me so angry aha. He’s 100% right, he might be making his point in a slightly inflammatory way, but he is 100% right. The rhetoric on the right and specifically from Donald Trump has created the violent discourse in America we have now, and NO ONE else on that panel was taking onboard what he was saying. Also, Piers Morgan saying he isn’t on the right??? Ummm, yes he is lol, I’m from the UK and there’s no way he’s ‘neutral’.
Most things that are broadcasted in the UK are highly bias. I have a friend that moved to the states and realized this after a few years. The left and the right both have dogs in the rhetoric fight and BOTH are responsible but constantly comparing Trump to Hitler when EVERYONE says they'd kill Hitler on the spot is extremely dangerous. You can't do that for 8 years and not expect this to happen.

It’s closer to 50% than 2/3rds and that goes for the world’s population as well. There are many populist and right conservative movements with a lot of support (40-50%) in many countries from Latin America to Europe. I had no idea who Destiny was before this. But his facial expressions made me crack up so much! His clip out of context seemed a bit in poor taste, and I do disagree about saying “fuck you” to the guy who died (but he did not sound “gleeful” he sounded angry). But his defense of his statement and argument about how his reaction is getting more heat than the rhetoric of many republicans and/or conservatives is so real. It’s definitely one of those Gen Z viewpoints that I agree with. Kids who grew up in this world we shaped have a different viewpoint than us (coming from a late millennial). They are burnt out and done with all the hypocrisy. They got there faster than us because of what they grew up with. I get it.

I totally agree. It was in bad taste, but his defense makes me understand where he's coming from. I wouldn't say something so crass about the firefighter, but going to that rally and bringing his family says a lot about his character. Destiny's entirely right in that you can objectively realize it's a bad action without feeling much empathy. Him being shot and killed is protecting his family is obviously terrible. I wouldn't immediately question his character that much but the fact that he brought kids to a political rally sounds that he was fan of Trump and trying to get his kids to be too. It was just ridiculous how Piers was constantly interrupting and making pretty brainless points.
Couple year Destiny watcher here.... You know that dark shit you think of but you would never say because of how it would make you look to other people? He just says it. Destiny is right.
In reference to the Destiny situation, there's a paradox about a tolerant society and how it's supposed to deal with intolerance. Supposedly the solution is that a tolerant society cannot be tolerant to intolerance and will lead to it's inevitable downfall and so a tolerant society cannot be tolerant of intolerance. I think this is similar to what Destiny is saying: A party riddled and bolstered with discarding empathy should not be critical when the other party discards their empathy toward them. Not feeling empathy for people who routinely refuse to empathize with us doesn't seem like some terrible, evil thing to me. I would never call for violence and I would never cheer for it or endorse it but it makes it harder to shed a tear when those who were attacked tend to spew the most hate. I can't help but wonder how much empathy the Republican party would express had Biden been the target of a threat instead

When it comes to Destiny, a lot of what he said on Piers... came from a place where someone was being truthful but not presenting it eloquently and mindful to not roll in the same paint the others are painted in. Dave Rubin has said some vile shit and the amount of people like him, it'd be a war to call them all out. But considering the far ends Destiny and Rubin are on, they are platformed instead of people who are closer to the everyday person.

My understanding of Destiny's argument is that from a personal view point, Corey Comperatore's death is a tragedy but from an impersonal/group perspective, he was part of a group that promotes rhetoric that includes violence and division. Destiny is basically saying play stupid games, win stupid prizes but for a group. I only partially agree with Destiny. It is harder to use that logic when it comes to a group tan an individual that does something dangerous and ends up with bad consequences. I do think that both sides are responsible for increasingly extreme rhetoric and that from my perspective Trump/conservatives have been responsible for a larger amount. Destiny's wording is also more extreme than necessary and doesn't help the situation with regards to rhetoric becoming more extreme.
I agree destinys optics are aggresive, but right wing media pundits are not acknowledging trumps attempt to undermine the democratic process. It makes me wonder what percent of trumps loyalists even know about his calculated attempt to falsify electoral votes. Given this dont you feel the anger for these types is warranted?
This call for unification, and all the outrage is, well alot of it is correct. The problem is there is no accountability for one side to have any credibility. Especially if you listen to their recent speeches. It isn't " Violence is wrong and we now understand how wrong we were to stoke it, let's work together" it's " Violence is wrong and how dare you have caused our guy to be targeted!"
