One day in 2017, Liam became an instant fandom legend when he threw his arms in the air and wiggled around while standing in between BTS leader RM and mat-hyung Jin at an Airbnb in Hollywood. Since then, he's interviewed the guys numerous times and built upon his already successful hosting career with many more K-Pop/Pop interviews for reputable music publications all throughout the industry. Liam is an absolute REAL ONE. He was open and honest about not knowing BTS for their first interview, but it's a true testament to not just BTS's character, but also his own open-minded nature, that he went from not knowing them to full blown ARMY by their next interview. I adore him, and I wish more interviewers did their research and were as accepting as Liam! 💜
I'm tearing up TT.. bts are already legends but to hear the way you talk about them and their future makes me so happy and emotional😭😭💜
Sadly most entertainment journalists are happy to just do no research at all :( You are a legend because you do your work and you care about the people you are interviewing

When other artist management say "receate" I wonder what exactly they mean. There are so many things about BTS that you just can't replicate - at least authentically.
They even recreating that goofy and close friendships between bts and the underdog story of bts. U know groups like ateez. And so many groups. Even if kpoopies deny it its the actual truth.

The fact that just one day is his favorite song solidifies Liam's Army status. When that song came out it was complete chaos in the fandom. That song will always make me smile!
Wow, it’s so nice to see an entertainment interviewer/journalist with integrity! Many other interviewers would run with that information he gained from his 45 min., off-camera chat. You can tell, listening to Liam talk, as well as his aura, that he’s a good person!
Liam is one of ARMY's favorite interviewer...I do love what he is done. Grounded and very very humble.💜 Those interviews in 2017 are iconic.

I feel bad for entertainment journalists now after knowing what happens behind the scenes. Thank you for being open about what really goes behind the interviews. E.Journos face the backlash if the questions are wrong...not their bosses who dictate them.
Taking the time to do your job well, and being nervous about it every time, shows you are passionate about what you do. What a great conversation that everyone, regardless of their job, can relate to. Great interview and conversation!

the tidbits about bts aside, i really admire both of you who literally move away from home to chase what you're passionate about, wow, because it's leaving the place you grow up in and leaving families and friends behind (like, of course you'd get to to make new friends and connections in your now place, but still), I've always respect people who can do that. And also that part about respect is very interesting, and I just realized it's true, there's a lot of burden (?) and responsibility on the the interviewers because you're the front face, not the network or anyone else, so if something went wrong your face and name will be the one the fans associate with the mistake/problem, even if the questions comes from higher up

It's also really interesting how Liam says that perhaps if he were Army, he wouldn't have waved his arms in the air or been goofy with the, cause this might have been embarassing. If I were interviewing them , I feel like I would be extra funny and goofy cause I know how much fun they like to have😂
Just One day is an ICON! That song has such a special place in Armys heart. We are all really excited about the anthology album too, and like you guys said, this is such a perfect time in their career and is a huge move for them. So proud! (AND IT HAS BORN SINGER!! WHAT!!??)
Also as a person interested in the music and interviewing space, and hopefully one day work there, this podcast was wonderful and so insightful! You two are a few of my biggest role-models so this is literally a dream for me😍. Thank you so much for this again!!💜

@ 28:28 nowadays people can be addressed as "musicians" because of their followers but with little to fewer songs and without credits. ok, I appreciate the talents and how great of performers some are(but some are even mediocre). like suddenly some "artist" or TikTok stars would release songs once in a while and it will go viral because they have huge followers, but those who have been working their a$$es off are not even getting the recognition they deserve. I know it's frustrating but that's life, life is just so unfair. 😶for me, I will respect them or may even like their songs but I would only acknowledge them if at least I can see that they're proving that they deserve the hype and support they're receiving while being in the limelight. because some ppl who have it easy tend to be egoistic kinda??
which is why I love BTS so much cuz we all know where they came from, the music they put out and how involved they are with the crafts, how much they inspire ppl. I love that despite the unfairness of life there are still genuine people winning over it and I hope many more genuine artists/ hard workers will get the recognition they suppose to be getting.

I think Just one day really pushed me down the rabbit hole. I was blown away when I saw it for the first time during Armypedia performance. I love this song so much, still in my top 5.

I knew Liam before he interviewed BTS. He's always been very professional and very friendly. Celebrities and artists in general feel comfortable with him.
It's normal for him to not get nervous meeting famous people, he's good at this partially because he's grounded and sees them as people.
Liam is so real, he is so open and honest about bts. His interviews are always so detailed and informative and he's right you can't duplicate with any other artist how he treats bts, they are something so special and different.
I remember this guy….he was so precious to BTS back then even Taehyung was playing with his hair in their interview he is really chill 💕🇫🇷
This was great! It was fascinating to hear those behind stories about what it's like interviewing artists and how the BTS interviews differed. Also love that Just One Day is Liam's favourite - an iconic classic! And you can't go wrong with Anpanman, Go Go and 21st century girl hehe
So happy to see both of you together (I admire you both). I saw Liam at the Vegas concert I was at, swarmed by "Liam fans" 💜. I am always appreciative of interviewers that do research and ask thoughtful questions. I can understand that these groups want to be prepared (given the language barrier) for questions that are going to be asked, but I have a hard time thinking that they want to be asked over and over about collaborations...you can almost see them trying not to roll their eyes "out loud" 🤣. I once saw a very well know American interviewer express shock to find out they danced and all I could think to myself is he might as well have put a sign on his forehead saying "Yes, I did absolutely zero research". I also have mad respect for RM. I feel like he and Suga (and very shortly after, J-Hope) had the weight of the success of the group in their hands in the very beginning and they were just teens at the time. RM always tries to find a way to include the rest of the members in the interview process, even if it means twice as much work for him in the translating back and forth. Thanks for this enjoyable and thoughtful video.
Brooke I missed you I love sincerity and it is no secret to anyone that many companies not only want to copy marketing but even the personalities of the boys but BTS is special you can't replicate it

This was so insightful! Appreciate you sharing about how publicists give interviewers questions to ask, hence why there are the same questions asked!
But as Liam inadvertently revealed, by researching and asking your own questions, journalists can and ask their own questions (which Liam says he does.) But also reveals the difference in quality of journalism-Liam is on another level! Everyone is given the opportunity to research and have quality interviews but Liam is the only one who will shoot his shot!

Loved that you guys talked about bts so genuinely which I think is rare. Was disappointed but not surprised to hear Liam say that other artists want to recreate the bts interviews. It’s clear a lot of kpop artists are watching bts very closely bc I’ve noticed too many similarities with things bts has said or done. Pretty soon we’ll be seeing “anthology” albums in kpop. Anyways this interview was so enjoyable from beginning to end, thank you!
Well it's already happening in k-pop with few groups..we could see they are trying so hard to replicate "BTS"
It’s not surprising. You have an extremely successful group and someone is going to try to figure out a “formula” and recreate them. Even their own company wants to do it, but the thing is there isn’t a formula. It’s just one of those things where all the stars aligned, everything clicked.

This reminds me of the difference between influencers vs models. Brands love influencers...but, as for me, I'll still choose the model to model clothes because they've been in the industry, they have the experience. And I get how both of you felt with brands doing these. The situation with tiktok....itdoesn't make sense at all.
After watching Brooke's podcast with Tetris and Liam, I want her to do a podcast with Sakshma Srivastav as well.. Sakhsma is also a huge KPop enthusiast and interviewed lot of big groups and solo artista including BTS, TXT, Kai, Aespa, Twice etc.. I really hope it become reality.. 💜

Brooke. I just want to thank you for acknowledging the fact that not everyone has biases. It’s just as simple as asking “do you have a bias?” instead of “who is your bias?” Like the amount of times people have told me to choose is way too high! It’s a simple rephrasing of a question but it’s much appreciated!

When it comes to interviews you can always tell who took the assignment seriously and who doesn't. Why ARMY respect Liam since 2017. We saw he took opportunity seriously. Brooke you also work hard and genuinely take your job seriously.
