Happy early Valentine's Day❤️ This is the time to celebrate friendships and love. Please remember that you are our V-Day loves. Have a fun and safe weekend. We have a special recipe for both channels tomorrow😘
Woo- hoo! I most definitely need practice with my Spanish. I used to do well when I did home health nursing. They would laugh at me sometimes at my struggle but, that’s ok because I would laugh at myself too. Love u guys and have a wonderful Valentines Day with a special heart going out to your mama.💜💕💜
I cried watching this today. I swear you ladies are angels!! My hubby’s favorite and I never knew how to make them. Thank you! Tonight our Valentine’s Day will be perfect because of you gorgeous ladies
You are a good teacher! Teaching younger people how to cook is so important. Little tips and tricks along the way are so helpful so they don't have to reinvent the wheel, ( I'm more self taught so I re-invented the wheel many times, lol). I have always wanted to learn how to prepare these tasty foods so thank you for sharing. I'm 65 so this is exciting to me to finally be learning.
I'M an oldie of 60 plus years and this takes me back to being a little girl when my mama used to do gorditas with beans and cheese, so yummy! She also used to do them with flour gorditas. Of course she did tortillas every day for a family of ten. This was economical for me to make for my own family.
I'm 21 years old and I have learned so much from you. I constantly use your recipes, I am in a new relationship and I have never cooked for two so your recipes are so helpful!!😊
OMGOODNESS...I made these yesterday and they were Delicious!! The favor of gordita by itself, brought back childhood memories!!! So good!! First time ever making them and they were not to bad. I gotta make them a little thicker next time. I've been a silent viewer for a while, BUT No more!! Shout out from Refugio TX. Right between Corpus Christi and Victoria TX. We Love you and Claudia!!!
I recently discovered your channel and I love it. I'm learning "how to" for so many recipes. My mom passed away 5 yrs ago and there is yet so much I didn't learn in the kitchen. I'm also a big believer in keeping our traditions alive and will share with my 22 yr old daughter.
I used to make these with my mom as a kid now showing my daughter! We're snowed in today and she was craving them so I enjoyed your video as a reminder how to make them ❤️❤️❤️ thank you
Hello girls 👋 yes I know all about the measurements some of my family and friends ask me but it is sometimes difficult cause I just cook n know already lol I try to tell them,so I m going to try this it looks great, thank you n blessings, Happy Valentine's day for all n thankful for all the love u put in my kitchen 💓
You and Cloud are a treasured part of our German family - I am the American so I am of course! the one who knows Mexican cooking (which my family loves, jawohl!) Your rescue me over and over plus teach us all the BEST recipes. A cup of love is my favorite ingredient.
I still use a cup. My grandma used to use one and taught me so I don’t use anything else. I do allot of my measuring as she did so thank you for doing the same and being a safe place
Made this for dinner @viewsontheroad! You're so blessed you have a mommy who taught you these precious recipes! Thank you for teaching me how to recreate favorite foods Doñas, DELISH👍🍽🥰
My husband is a halfer; 1/2 Mexican (mom ) and half white (dad), with a Japanese step mom. Needless to say he has a very colorful taste pallet. He was raised by his mother, so Mexican cooking was the usual. He is second generation, I am California bred, 4th or 5th generation (Mexican). I was raised on not so traditional Mexican cooking and Rice a roni a can of Green giant corn or peas with a piece of salted steak. I have learned to cook over the past 28 years I've been with my husband from his mom. (She is a great cook!!!) So, I have all the basics down; caldo, frijol, arroz and one of his favs chile rellenos. Gorditas are his other favorite Mexican dish. We drive around trying to find a good gorditas and I thought "Views on the Road" I bet Steph and Claud have the best recipe and I was right!!!! I have been so happy with your teachings master (so is my hubby)!! Lol I have made your version of chile rellenos, flan, huevos rancheros, pozole and a few others. I told my sister who lives in Oregon with her wife and 4 yr old twin daughters that are total foodies. They LOVE to eat and are not picky. She made your huevos rancheros both kids style and adult and they love it. She was making it again the other day. She said the ask for it all the time. She has made your tortillas and a few other recipes. She is hooked now too. You have such good recipes and I love that you put a twist on them some times. I really do not like to cook (I'm a baker/dessert maker), but when I find something that looks delicious and fun to make, I get excited and actually want to cook. And girly, you make me want to cook. Hahaha
So, no oil on the comal? I love gorditas but have never made them. I love that I can watch you cook with my grand daughter, thank you, we learn so much.
no oil amiga. if you like a subtle fry crisp you can. If I oil my great grandmothers comal it takes a long time to tame it after. It seems to have a temper LOL Thank you for letting us know we still have little ones watching. #viewsclubjr ❤️
Made these a few days ago and they turned out so good! I liked making them pre-stuffed, just quicker to serve my husband and kids. I made them a little smaller, we had extra and they were wonderful warmed up. Would be good to put in the freezer too! 👍❤❤ Thanks Steph and Cloud for bring us a delicious recipe!
Just made these tonight for my family. Thank you for the instructions and most of all the tips. I used oil on my hands instead of water when making them and I feel like it helped keep them from cracking. Muchísimas gracias 💜
How about a capirotada recipe? Mine is always soggy! Btw wish you were single. You and my son would make a beautiful couple. No disrespect to your husband though. Love you you two!
Oh my goodness, I love pupusas and didn't know that gorditas are basically the same. Thank you for continuing to teach me the foods of your culture. I am 80 years old and still learning and loving it. Thank you, thank you!
When you incorporate the filling before it cooks it's called a papusas. When you cook it first and add the filling by cutting a slit it after cooking for filling it's a gordita
@Bell Garcia So, what your saying is if im in El Salvador and make a gordita its actually called a papusa for being made in El Salvador? I think, in USA, i can make a papusa or a gordita without being in either or country
Mom said as a little girl the only ones that got sopes were the dogs, after they made tortillas in the morning she was told to make the gorditas , let them cool and give them to the dogs, that is what they ate.And that was her practice at making tortillas. Later when she was old she made what you call gorditas and she shared with me, they were wonderful. Now that I am old and can no longer make tortillas I have made "gorditas" and they are a wonderful meal. Not as dainty but just as delicious as a taco. Thank you. I share your channel with my boys, they love to cook and much easier than writing down all the recipes for them. I never measure so I thank you for the measurements for them. (They are foodies like me) I used to eat 12 tacos :) Now I can't eat one, so enjoy while you can! Steph, you are the salt of the Earth and your sister Cloud is the spice.
I just like too see that there are women that still do this I was brought up this was when I was a child but because it it is a lot work and you can buy them at there that just needs too be heated but I like the home made one thank you ladies for these Videos 👍
I love you cook from you heart and soul! It taste better that way. I have the worst time giving recipes because I don't measure the same way twice lol. Plus I am forever changing even my own recipes. Thanks for being you
I made these with the refried beans, the tamales filling, queso fresco cheese, onion and cilantro, cabbage and sour cream, then heated them again for a couple minutes in a cast iron pan and yellow rice on the side... everyone loved them... thanks for the ideas...
You have taught me so much especially the adult drink I love them. My husband is Mexican and he loves when I cook his food and I owe a big thanks to you.. thank you so much..
I had these as a kid in Mexico at my aunta and they were so good ! I've been dying for one and couldn't think of the name and I'm so happy I found this video I'm definitely going to try this thank you!
O my gosh, thank you so much! I watched my mom make these as a kid but never learned how to make them. I look forward to trying your recipe tonight for dinner and teaching my daughter's and granddaughter how to make these. God bless and keep them coming my families hungry for more!
The INSTA POT IS A GOD SEND! esp. for gringos LOL! thank you for sharing all your wonderful recipes! its like what I grew up loving! KEEP IT UP! soooo good!
I made a mess 😭 so frustrating because I'm hungry but it's ok Im not giving up every recipe that I've learned from you is delicious and I love cooking because of you love u Steph ❤️
I just made these and didn’t have the yellow corn masa just the regular one but decided to give a go anyway I struggled a little bit but I made it work. I wanted to add some kind of meat but didn’t have anything fresh so I used some chorizo I froze a couple weeks ago and mixed it with some potatoes & scooped it before adding my toppings. I LOVEEE queso fresco but because Im pregnant i can’t have it ): so I used a shredded Mexican blend of cheese and they came out so good! I’m a silent viewer but have made several of your recipes and haven’t been disappointed. Thanks amiga!
Thats soo crazy! I started cooking at the age of 4 as well. Under different circumstances, of course, but STILL- the 'hungry' aspect was ALL that mattered and that I had MORE than just the "how-to", thanks to my German Grandma. My nana use to make these for me when I was little. Thanks for making these ☺️. I definitely need to make these for my family. Thanks you for all your recipes
Oh no I’m watching this at 11pm and my mouth is watering! So simple but you made it look delicious. My girlfriend always talks about her late grandma’s gorditas and I am going to channel her and think of her as I make this for dinner tomorrow. Thank you so much for the tips and tricks!
I love how you are so detailed with how you explain every step as you go, that is greatly appreciated. the bean and cheese combo is wonderful. I will make this soon for my family. Happy Valentine's Day to you Family. Please recommend so good pots and pans. te amor amigas
I grew up in Las Cruces NM and goditas were one of my favorite meals. Once I moved to California... people looked at me crazy when I would ask for them at any Mexican restaurant. I always assumed they were a Mexican staple... I was so wrong! So thank you once again for sharing a tutorial that is a game changer!!! I missed gorditas and I finally can make my own🎊🎊🎊💖💋
It's been a while since I have commented on you channel, but you just made my anxiety level go down drastically! I'm making gorditas with a carne guisada filling, but I had NO idea how to make the pockets. In my head it was a good idea cause I was going to look for a basic gordita recipe and when I searched it was very overwhelming. Thank goodness I'm subscrided to your channel because you don't give exact measurements, but instead you explain in detail how food should feel, tase, smell, etc. Just made it so much easier for dinner tonight!
Now that I learned from you, how to make refried beans I know how lovely the taste is. It's so easy too! Bought the Maseca. So will be making the gorditas today. Many thanks. Gracias! Oh, also, I love watching you eat the recipes. You obviously enjoy good food. I also enjoy well prepared delicious recipes.
Thank you so much for this! I love the combined cooking with the beans inside! I used to try to make the gorditas the second way, but I could never get the inside to cook, and then the outside would just break and crack. So I am going to try your method.
I just watched your video on how to make homemade Tortillas!!! My goodness it’s hard work. I can see why we all love tortillas so much because of all the love that goes into it making them!!! Unfortunately my hands won’t be able to handle rolling them out but it look good!!!!
Ladies, can you guys do a Sweet Corn Cake recipe? Since I was little I had it almost every Sunday at a restaurant called El Toritos. It's so good and since, Steph, I know you always make your dishes so flavorful and take pride in it, I know your recipe will be amazing. Thank you! Love you guys!
Hi this is Veronica from Barstow this is my first time making gorditas my family is from Albuquerque New Mexico we may call me tortillas sopapillas green chili but I love making my husband Mexican food but he is from Hawaii and he loves green chili God bless you and take care from Veronica
En Venezuela hacemos arepas y son casi lo mismo. I'm going to adapt my arepas with the beans and queso fresco, although I had a similar variation with black beans and queso. Gracias por brindar estos videos

From India Started to learn Spanish now a Spanish delight delightfully taught by loving sisters. Bravo.
Indian and Mexican are the best, in my opinion. Many vegetarian options and I never get tired of either.

My mom would make these for us as kids. When I go back to Cali I still ask for them. So good. Thanks for the childhood memory.
