Hey Justin! Fellow South Carolina resident watching here. Im in Charleston, but rock on man! Killer playing! You definitely have a bluesy/country style that is just awesome! Beautiful new guitar too man. I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
This was very cool! Thanks for showcasing the possibilities for this guitar. I've been debating whether to grt the dgt se or 594 se, so far I'm slightly more attuned to this. I would definitely love to try the neck on this soon.
The Neck is a bit chunkier than my pattern reg on the Vela and the CE-22. It's both thicker and wider. It has been a little to get used to, although im a smaller guy with lady hands! lol
Hey Justin!…. Thnx for the answer about the floating trem on the DGT SE… Ive always been a strat guy for the most part and always found Les Pauls to be a little muddy sounding.., so its great to hear what you have to say about this subject! Bless you m’brutha!
I have a Goldtop DGT se, after a few weeks, not sure its a keeper for me. I can't pin point it for me but its just not happening. I think that tha PRS se 24-08 which I traded in for the DGT was a better sounding guitar, I might do the exchange again. I don't like these DGT pickups, always seem to sound dirty, even on clean channels. Just my own thoughts.
All the greatest pickers play Tele's! That aside, I am just about decided on the PRS SE Starla, simply because it has the best soundimg pickups I have heard on a PRS.
I highly recommend the Vela if you can get your hands on one used. The Starla pickup should be the same, but the bridge and single coil pickup really set it apart from the other PRS line. Great sounding guitars!
Totally different vibes… the DGT is very clear and articulate while giving a very High Fidelity experience. The Vela is more vintage and simple. Feel is very different. Vela is shorter on the body and stricken you in a different place. Get one!
@@prsfan01 I have a Vela. My understanding is that the DGT neck is closest to the Pattern Regular, which is on the Vela. I changed the bridge humbucker, and it is more like the one in the DGT. I just think the DGT would be very similar at this point. I love the Vela.
Hey man, I have an SE 24-08 and a DGT SE on order. I am looking forward to comparing them. I love my 24-08 and grab it over my US Strat and LP all the time. The mini toggles give you that added tone option of one pup split, one not - I use the bridge split-neck full humbucker combo A LOT. They are very accessible switches and you can readily see where you are at. Love using the volume to travel across clean to just breaking up to crunchy, high gain on this thing! That said I'm keen to see what the DGT will bring given all of the hype in terms of quality and tones, and hope I can get the same sort of versatility at least using those two volume knobs, 3-way toggle and splitting - maybe a bit of a learning curve! Would be interested to hear of your experience whichever way you go (or went hopefully by now!) 🙂
@@prsfan01 Thanks for the reply, Justin. I'll check out that video right now. I was considering getting mine 'pleked/plekked' is why I asked. Nice playing by the way.
Nice job! Not a lot of people get too much into the split tones. Thanks!
One of the best things about this guitar is the split tones!!!

Love the shout out to your church !
Great review!

You’re welcome, This is very strat player friendly….
Great playing!
Thx!
Great stuff!! I'm also getting used to a PRS custom 22 SE i've recently bought, sounds nice (coming from many years of playing strats and teles too)
Mighty fine pickin there
Thx
Love the insight of your applications of the DGT and, like you said, where it sits for you tonally. You sound great on it!
Thanks friend
Myrtle Beach is my second home. I absolutely love that city.
Fantastic review and demo. Thanks for doing a lot of uncolored tones.

I love my Vela. Getting one of these DGTs would be a bit redundant, wouldn't it?

Did you try a SE 24 08 ? I’m sorta stuck in between the DGT SE and the SE 24 08 unfortunately I can’t find a DGT to try anywhere 😐

Nice review. Do you think this to be more versatile than a telecaster?
Yes… based on my experience. Just having the humbuckers and a good split situation is twice the available tones on call.
I have the same guitar on order. How was the setup out of the box?
Not bad, playable, but needed some attention. Watch my first video on the DGT se to see my initial thoughts.
