So 102 days is contact to 1st flight…in which case the boomerang. So on that measure, the Boomerang was 99 days (close for sure) But I referred to design - which was 5 months for the boomerang vs 6 months for the mustang
@@allancarey2604 Putting a bigger engine and a couple machine guns on an existing design is nothing compared to designing the whole plane they are worlds apart!!
@@lambastepirate I think your being a more than a little simplistic there…the only commonality between the boomerang & Wirraway (Not to be confused with the Texan to Wirraway) was the wing center section& maybe the tail…..so your argument holds as much water as saying the Cobra attack helicopter isn’t new because all they did was shrunk the cabin and put winglets on it.

Considering the Boomerangs origins I wouldn't be suprised if that were true
