Attitude is everything in white water. Jackson puts out quality and you pay for it! Love seeing the kids out on the water instead of the Xbox/Playstation. Man I have hiked so many mountains in the day but I just can't eat a Cliff bar they are nasty I will eat a Nutri-Grain bar or cheese peanut butter crackers instead. I would love to do one of your river-runs maybe one day it will happen before I am 70 and that's not too far off. Thanks for teaching the people it's a really good profession because there is nothing better than being outdoors in nature weather hiking kayaking fishing hunting if you are going to eat what you kill.
Pete, you do such an amazing job at organizing these big groups, teaching everyone all the while keeping everyone safe. Your video content, as well as your dedication to beginner paddlers, is off the charts. Just wanted to let you know that it doesn't go unnoticed by this community. Happy paddling from Baltimore, Maryland. P.S. Do you happen to have a video on the camera gear you use, and maybe some tips to a new user of getting good footage/camera settings? I think that would make a great video, if you already haven't. Your video quality is superb and is very much appreciated. Thank you for all that you do!
Thanks a ton Kerry! It means a lot! I dont have a specific video on that, but I will soon! That is a fantastic suggestion! Thanks and thanks for the encouragement and kind words!
Big crew and another good day on the water. Congratulations Liz on marking off a bucket list item and Pete i feel your pain Spirit Brother and just maybe one day we'll grow up Lol!
AWESOME job, Liz! Way to keep those paddles moving though Radio Wave. Evan and the young guns are all killin' it too. Those rapids looked like a blast.
Looked like lots of fun! Bro you have for sure made a huge impact on kayaking and many of folks lives just by doing something you love. We are all honored to know you and the rest of the River Kings! Keep up the awesome job!
And to think that less than a year ago Liz had "issues" even getting her head underwater due to fear....and now she is a world famous yakker youtube star inspiring folks to conquer their fears. I feel privileged to know her. :)
A fantastic group of people. Great video Sir. Went out on sunday for the first time in 8 years . Really enjoyed it. I now need to sort out my rigging .
That looks like a fun river, and what a great group! The largest group I've ever been part of was 7. 19 would be a blast! A lot of folks for you to keep track of though. I wonder if with large groups it would be wise to break it down into smaller teams responsible for each other.
Right on Mike! There is a lot to think about. Smaller groups are def easier to manage. This particular river is wide open and straightforward without hazards. There are rivers I would never consider such a large group on. On this particular trip, we had a dedicated safety in the rear as well as two others of us that were continually counting and monitoring. A max span of control on a river would totally depend on the paddlers in the group, the river, conditions, etc. While there is no perfect way to determine this, considering all factors is a must.
Another awesome video! Side note, do you use a polarizer filter on your go pro? If not it may help cut some of the glare. Can’t wait to get a new boat and run these types of rivers.
Not yet, but I have noticed with the GP8 that the glare on a sunny day at lower frame rates is pretty high. Been looking at some options...Thanks for the tip!
Nolichucky Gorge Campground to Jackson Love Bridge Class 2/3. We went down a couple more miles to the New River Lumberyard takeout just below the Pyranha Campus.
Looked like a great trip and the river looked amazing! What part of TN is this section of the Nolichucky located?! I tell you I don't know how you keep up with all them people, but you seem to handle it in stride. Fun video! Thanks for sharing Pete!

@@RiverKingsKayak Your channel is a great source for learning about safety on the water.
Nice video! Thanks! Do you know the flow that day? Embreeville gauge for Sat 10/3/2020 was 1220 - is that close?
I really have no idea. The video was released likely one weekend after the run...
Swimming in fast water is it better superman style or on back with feet up, I've done both ways.. lol
On back with feet up and in front of you.
