Mark is the most passionate skater of all time. Here he is, getting up there in years, and he still does nothing but skate and art. The same stuff he was doing as a kid. Many of us said we wanted to do what we did when we were young forever. Mark actually does it...
This exactly how interviews should go. I could watch and hear him talk about boards all day. FUCK i want to get a blank deck right now, router it, sand some shit into it, paint it, and skate the fucking thing! Great stuff tommy! Keep up the great show! Love it!
Thankyou TG! ... for everything you have done for skating. ... for still standing, rolling and pushing the same awesome way you always have. ... for being a leader and integral part of one the best and most consistent crews out there these days.
Two of my all-time favorites right here. TG and MG used to kill them streets. These dudes are legends, y'all. So awesome hearing them reminisce about the past. I'm really digging these videos and like that Tommy interviews skaters from the early days as opposed to the pros of today. It seems to me that a lot of today's skaters have no idea how much of an influence these guys had on skateboarding. Anyway, I just subscribed to this channel and am looking forward to seeing more of these videos in the future. Good stuff right here.
bluetile SC totally is a mistake. 2 people musta dropped their phones and it hit dislike. It's the only way it could happen because no one could hate this
I watched this as if I was in that room. Quiet and in awe. What a great way to present this interview. Its just two dudes shootin' the shit. Great job with this one.
Oh . I too would love to see you do a kick flip bs grab again TG :) Thanks for the great inspiration you where on me when I was a kid back in the 90s and late late 80s. Great channel too, such a great atmosphere you create
I love the vibe on these vids. It's all about hanging out and talking about whatever. And when "whatever" can cover potentially 40 years of history it makes for engaging viewing. Keep it up!
I remember skating with Gonz when he was doing his thing with the ATM Click back in the days growing up in southern California. Living Legend, all love all respect.
If it had fallen out of the window, the chips or cracks in the deck would only add to the art and the story. I feel like that’s how Mark would see it anyway.
I traded mint 1986 Gonz deck for a complete Guerrero Light blue Flaming Dagger back in 89. I just picked up an Identical 86 Gonz reissue the other day and am now looking to get the light blue Flaming Dagger next. So cool to see both of you guys together!
There’s only a few sports that the legends, innovators and pioneers are still around. Skateboarding is one if them, enjoy them, learn from them and suck in all that energy they still spread.
I never about this, i played skate 1 and liked Mark Gonzales’s style and eventually gained an interest in him, and I listened to Tommy Guerrero’s music. I never knew they both met.
fuck yea Tommy keep putting episodes out man I love this stuff.. I learn some much I really like to watch max Schaaf skate around with the 4star crew I prolly would have never known of him if it wasn't from you and what his story was on bs with tg. REAL inspiring man!
I need that TG Dagger reissue with a slight nose concave. That was my favorite board as a youngster. I really dig what he's doing now as a musician also, great guitarist. Maybe do some pop-sickle shapes with the album art? I would buy.
you know it's crazy to me hearing TG say stuff like "that was a long time ago, i can't do that anymore" and "just riding down the street without falling would be pretty cool too" I was never any good at skating you know just doing a few tricks here or there but skating was my life for a big part of my adolescence and young adulthood. then you know life takes its toll so many new things pop up and distract you from it. but not coming back to it i still struggle with the idea of not being as good as i was back then or not as flexible or not as elastic as i was. getting hurt easily and all that. hearing TG say those things makes me feel better about it and about just finding the join in riding your board down the street and finding the fulfillment in that. not having anything to prove to yourself or others. i'm still having that mental battle (which also ends up manifesting in physical battles with injuries as i am recovering from a pretty bad ankle roll right now just doing a bs 180 ollie) but if TG feels that it's good enough to just cruise and not fall then it should be good enough for me!
Haha man i remember Scott Gomez was my fav hockey skater and Gonz was my fav street skater. Time flies so cool to have guys like him Tommy G and P Rod to look up to 🙌🏽
I really like the idea behind this board, it's classic skater (gonz) version of the do anything setup (norcal style), while the longboarders are going from downhill and working to skateboarding to make the all arounder...such as Bonzing...what needs to happen, is you guys need to get together, share ideas and designs and techniques and get this all around setup dialed so the best can start making it work..
Hey TG, thanks for the content and giving the world more Gonz!! Hella stoked, I started to build a jump ramp for my six and five year old's... and myself. It's a Wisconsin winter and a balmy 10 degrees so we're goof. Where can I find decks (shaped or blank) like those found around the 3: 45 mark? I saw the Anti Hero box but I've been unable to find anything. Thanks and keep em coming!
When I was a kid I thought Gonz was just acting for the camera. You know, to get some attention and promote "the scene". Seeing him now, I know he is just batshit fucking crazy. Makes me smile....
Man this is exactly what it was like working at DXL warehouse and printime in the late 90’s. Those dudes are the best, super cool! Until Micke came around! 😂😂jk that dude rules too!
I'm here after watching a Christian Hasoi documentary. Then I watched a dope hypebeast gonz interview and now I needed more lol. Here I am. Dope a$$ channel. I'll subscribe! More people need to see these. Maybe link up with a bigger UA-camr and get more followers?
I stopped skating at 17 cause I wanted to drive girls to parties in high school. I was at an opening in Chinatown for glen friedman and this guy thought I was tommy. I told him I wish!!

well said.
you can do it...
The GONZ!!
He’s worth 10 million he can do whatever he wants.
Longest anyone has ever kept Gonz in one place?
These 2 guys were my only positive latino role models when I was 16 🤘🏿
What about limp Larry and dirty dan

Thankyou TG!

I think gonz just wants to talk about everything but himself.
humble
It's exhausting for some reason.

Gonz still rips
Dude my first board was a Vision Mark Gonzales in 1987 and then in 91 I bought a Tommy Guerrero TG SF board. The best boards I ever had.
Those "ollie over the pool" stills in that old Thrasher are still lodged in my mind after all these years. Blew my mind!!!
First Thrasher I bought. I never stopped and I still kill it.
holy shit. dude. like... holy... man. shit dude. man. what. who the hell thumbs down this video?

etho98 your such a degen, you think all the 'mainstream' skaters don't respect and understand underground or skaters like mark, but they really do
I watched this as if I was in that room. Quiet and in awe. What a great way to present this interview. Its just two dudes shootin' the shit. Great job with this one.
I swear i can watch Gonz skatin to Trane all day. LONG LIVE The Gonz!!!
Badass dude when I’m this age I want to still be skating it up! I’ll still try to bust a handrail too!

Dude this is fucking amazing listening to these two talk about old school skating.
I wanted to be these two when I was a teen. Great videos, TG.
Deck on the window was stressing me out.
Haha. I was waiting for it to get bumped.
If it had fallen out of the window, the chips or cracks in the deck would only add to the art and the story. I feel like that’s how Mark would see it anyway.
But I mean... besides the danger to the people below. 🤣

Tommy kept saying he could afford a good set up as a kid, but he had a P.K. Ripper..?
That’s an expensive bike.
Perry Kramer would probably agree with that statement
Getting a good bike for your kid is more beneficial
Tommy looks like Robert Downey Jr.
