Authority Zero - PCH-82 (Live from the Andiamo Stream)

- PCH-82 from the album Andiamo (meaning Pacific Coast Highway at 82 beats per minute) started off as a smooth groove and something of a jam track. The name stemmed from a late night cruise with Bill and I on the PCH listening to a demo of the track that we’d recorded without vocals. Working with Miguel (Sublime, Long Beach Dub All-Stars etc.) at the time on the track while hanging out in the L.A. area, it started to morph into something more. Lyrically it stemmed from the “blame game”. Corruption in relations within society as well as within the government for that matter. Expressing the lack of taking responsibility for our own actions and in turn blaming anyone but ourselves for negligence, unlawful acts, wrong doing and otherwise. It’s something of an awakening or an epiphany within and throughout the song. ~ Jason DeVore
In some countries, even today, police officers may search a person's home or office for evidence of wrongdoing, seize his property and arrest him whenever they see fit.
In the United States on the other hand the Fourth Amendment protects the individual and his property from unreasonable search and seizure by officers of the law.
Double Jeopardy, the Fifth Amendment also guarantees the individual that he will not be tried before a federal court more than once for the same crime.
A knock at the door whether by day or night, as a prelude to a search without authority of law but solely on the authority of police, is inconsistent with the conception of human rights, enshrined in the history of basic constitutional documents of English speaking peoples. Although the sanctity of ones privacy against illegal intrusion is one of the most important basic rights in our Constitution, experiences show that such intrusions occasionally occur, at the hands of overzealous police officers.
Freedom of speech and freedom of press; the right to speak his mind is close to the heart of every American, the constitution prohibits most forms of censorship over the press and speechmakers. The argument against censorship is clear: no government official should be permitted to dictate what ideas or beliefs we are entitled to hear or believe. Both good and evil should be averted by more speech and not enforced silence.
Similarly while a person is free to make speeches on public streets he may be prevented from doing so when he uses a loud or raucous amplifier, which disturbs the public tranquility.

Man, I remember seeing you guys in Norfolk Virginia with Sun 41 way back in the early 2000s. (Matter of fact the venue is behind me in my profile pic) One of the best shows I've ever been to and remember the time with my friends that night fondly. I can't believe it's been so long... Got kids and a wife, fucking house now, crazy. Uhhg, where has time gone? Thanks for the awesome memories my dudes. Helped my childhood be pretty badass.
Ya we remember that tour! Insanity!! And we all have grown up since, but doesn't mean we cant still be fucking bad asses!! Thanks for the reminding us of that tour!
