So yeah, you do NOT want it to grab you, ever. Because if it does, your death will be veeeery slow and veeeery painful...

In a game that encourages players to be perceptive of their environment, it makes sense the footfalls of enemies be exaggerated bit, allowing more astute players to tell apart the number and type of enemies approaching. But yeah, they need more than canned footsteps for humanoid players/enemies. Hopefully, Fundog will give the SFX/Foley team some more budget for organic walking/running sounds in the future.
Sounds like a mech walking while rattling a cage, and it's the same on every surface. You would think the cracked mud would be quiet compared to concrete or metal.

I think even if every footstep is supposed to echo because of where you are, it still shouldn't sound like that.
Um no, you arent the main character in the game. You are no threat compared to the enemy soldiers in the eyes of the ai. Theyre supposed to (for the most part) ignore you.

Look at the Russo-Ukrainian war for example. Most of the local population near battlefields are eliminated on sight as potential spies. I don't say that it is a good thing. But that's how it is.
