- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- Chris and Tulsi Gabbard discuss the political left's view on God. Why does Tulsi Gabbard believe the political left is anti-God? When did the left stop believing in a higher power according to Tulsi Gabbard? Why does Tulsi Gabbard think the political left doesn't agree with people with strong religious ties?

@Chris Willx, Since you didn't know what the ''Knights of Columbus'' is all about and never heard of it. This is what it is about--The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization that focuses on charity, education, religion, and social welfare. The organization's mission is to help Catholic men live their faith in their community, parish, workplace and home. When I was a young child we had one of the ''Knights of Columbus'' in our Italian neighborhood. Friends, parents, neighbors could rent out their hall for the people who where having a wedding, or any occasion that was of the day. It is a very respected organization, it's been around for years. Mostly in Italian/American neighborhoods in New York City and the surrounding boroughs. I hope this helps you now know what ''The Knights of Columbus'' is all about.

I have been a knight for 24 years. Nothing mysterious or menacing. It’s a community of Catholic men who do charitable work and who take care of the physical needs of our brothers and others in our community. If you are friends with a knight you have at least one man that has your back.
There is a group of "knights" near me, it's just a bunch of older men with cars who host and donate to charity and a bunch of other things
My father, before he passed, was involved with the Knights of Columbus. And I'm rewinding the clock to the 70s, so I'm happy to see that the KoC are still helping people. ❤ 💯 ✝️

Government NOT QUALIFIED to teach theological ideas.
This is silly. Less than 5% of the US population identifies as atheist. The only faiths where Republicans are a majority of adherents are Evangelicals and Mormons.
Democrats, (and some Republicans, I swear we exist) just understand that we need to respect EVERYONE'S right to worship. And as a necessary component we shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion (be it Christian, Jewish, Muslim or otherwise).
Church is for the governance of your soul and spirit. Government is for the governance of citizens and contracts. The Founders intended for them to remain seperate for good reason.
I wonder if americans can imagine that in some countries faith is only a personal thing, that has nothing to do with the Constitution or election (France for exemple). This is the easiest way to deal with it ...
Well said
@@LionHeart567Americans live in a bubble.
ya know, if people actually read the constitution and all of the old politician journals that were our forefather's, they generally believed in a government needing to be religious openly, most of them were more traditional than people want to adhere to today in pop culture writing.
if you read history, you'll come to realize very quickly how fast an empire falls to secularism.
the reason why our forefathers accepted that they didn't want religion and state to be unified, is because they explicitly left england because they didnt want to follow the english forced doctrination, so they didnt want to inforce such control on others.
However that being said, Thomas Jefferson was a staunch deist which is basically just cowardly atheism, made the quote to seperate church from state. Thomas was just one man of many, and most of the men in the government were religious.
Let alone the fact that english and most of europe was stuck in its oppressive ways. the new america was bold and original in trying to establish some kind of form of freedom from a king or queen of some sort.
but the reality is, i dont care about religion and state forming or never forming, I dont care as long as people can still be themselves as long as its mature and respectful to one another with dignity as a human being.
Ive found myself being less and less of a patriot in the last few months simply because my faith in a clearly human social construct that isnt claiming to be divine is entirely without hope for a purity that is also lacking in spirit. America will fall someday, scholars believe this easily, historically and scientifically.
I would argue the government shouldnt be utterly secular to the point of being neutral on morals. because morals afterall derive from religious and deep story telling spiritual influence.
If the government had 0 theological ideas ingrained in its sediment, youre better off tossing the whole thing in the fire for what its worth, because most post modernists dont want to accept that every nation that abandoned its god/s fell to pieces not long after due to a lack of harmony and morals in the culture. post-modernists like to think morality and ethics, sin, good deeds, and our thoughts dont come from anywhere but themselves randomly as if its a personal experience of being blind and scribbling circles of blue and red on paper unsure what color youre using at the moment.
There are two principles that MUST be upheld: freedom of religion/faith & and the separation of church/religion and state. We must respect The Constitution.
100 percent
For the record... the Constitution only mentions religion twice. The First Amendment prohibits laws “respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Article VI prohibits “religious tests” for public office. The concept of a "wall of separation between church & state" is not in the Constitution, but rather simply in a letter Thomas Jefferson sent to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. Since then, the concept has taken on a life of its own.
@@bunbun3000 Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Time to read up on this I think. I don't actually have any skin in the game as I'm born and live in Sweden. I just was hoping to spark some debate by incuding points from both sides as I think it's a quite fascinating subject to view from across the ocean. I was surprised when I learned of the strong trend towards secularization in the US as I had previously thought religion had a much firmer grip there. I guess your're becoming more european in that regard. Sweden is the most secularized country in the world actually.
@@rasmuslernevall6938 It is indeed interesting. I'm guessing even most Americans no longer understand that a "wall of separation between church & state" is not in the Constitution. The founding fathers of the US simply wanted to make sure that two things would never happen: 1) the government establishment of a state religion, and 2) religious requirements to hold public office. The strength of a common faith shared among most of the population began to shrink in the 1960s and 1970s when atheists began using the courts to remove even simple references to God from all public places. The result is a schizophrenic application of the concept, where Christianity is portrayed as a free society's Kryptonite, while Islam is taught in many schools in a "historical" context. This coincides with the slow deterioration of the western values that built the country.
@@bunbun3000 It seems that lutheran countries generally do quite well as they seqularize though. Like the nordic countries, who are widely regarded as among the best and happiest in the world. And even though we are not very religious (there are religious people here of course) a lot of people are spiritual and have simply left religious dogma behind. My best friend, for instance, is exploring orthodox christianity while also being an astrologer. I myself am deeply spiritual, but I have never been drawn towards any religion. I just want to try to figure out reality while being unburdened by centuries of dogma mixed up with culture, tradition and misunderstandings. But it's still interesting to learn about it all. I had a good friend who was a quite esteemed theologian and christian. He had written several books, many of which I read and we had fascinating discussions about all of this.
I don't vote for a God, or someone’s concept of a God. I vote for live humans. Who hopefully can be held accountable for their actions.

I'd be fine with this if the left also held themselves to the same standards, but they do not. The left has their own controversial and dogmatic beliefs that they would absolutely like to enforce. They simply think that because their beliefs are secular that means it's not a form of indoctrination or coercion to make people adhere to them, because they equate secularisim with inherent truth. For example, If the left wants religion out of schools. Fine. But don't then try and have gender theory on school either. As a life long atheist, I find all this pearl clutching about "god" very amusing. Keeping the word "god" out of politics is done for many very good reasons.
It’s literally in the Constitution that our rights come from God, not the government.
Keeping the word “God” out of government may sometimes be done for good reasons, but also sometimes not for good reasons. There’s a reason communist regimes suppress religion.

I’m a Jain and I would probably vote for another Jain that was running even if I didn’t like that person over anyone else running. Regardless of circumstances.
It’s just the nature of religion. When a person is a member of a religious group we know for the most part what that person’s values are.
Tulsi is a Hindu so since Jainism is similar to Hinduism I feel safe assuming that I understand the values Tulsi holds. And likewise would vote for her over a republican (even though I am republican myself). The religion trumps political affiliation.
So in this way religion serves as a communication by giving me information about someone. And I also feel maybe that leftists don’t have this same sense of belonging and community? They maybe don’t understand it.
Three Polls show democrats to be 80% atheists, 70% atheists or 51% atheists (this being the outlier i would disregard this poll). So the average is 75% of Democrats/liberals to be atheists, then there are 5% Muslim, 5% Jews and some Catholics and agnostics comprising the rest.
Those numbers don't make any sense. Democrats are roughly half of the US population, so, assuming that all atheists in the US are Democrats, that would mean that 50% x 75% = 37.5% of Americans would be atheists. However, the number of "nones" (the category of people that say that they are part of No Religion) is estimated to be 20-29% of Americans and, of the Nones, 72% believe in a God or a higher power -- they just don't claim to belong to a religion. Hollywood productions/media/education system is highly influenced by the DNC, how far can you go before it’s manufactured consent to abandon God. Of course free will is free will, but media and our education system aren’t “secular”, rather anti faith and religion, specifically Christianity as it is the most widely adopted religion amongst Americans. The moral code must be demolished to destroy principles that would make manipulation and indoctrination harder to implement.
And they wonder why their lives are falling apart
They’ve abandoned sanity
She's not telling the truth. I'm a Democrat I'm very religious. Like I said in one of my posts I'm Catholic. And we are more live and let live. Don't push your crap on me and I won't push my crap on you kind of thing. I don't particularly believe in abortion but if you do that's up to you. A man's a man's a woman's a woman but if you want to be that then you be that. Nobody has the right to tell anybody else how to live. It's not what she's trying to say. You think you know us but you don't.. Right before we went out to campaign for Kamala. The whole group set a prayer. And the ones he didn't want to didn't I think everyone did but if you don't want to you don't have to. But if you want to you can. It's called inclusiveness. Republicans don't know what they're talking about.
Saying that someone has abandoned God is making the assumption that God exists. The fact that lots of people believe God exists doesn't make it any more than lots of people believing aliens built the pyramids makes that true. I guess you could say that someone has stopped participating in religion.
If God doesn’t exist, kiss your God given rights goodbye.
I think that's just semantics, it's colloquialism. It's like using the word "weight" when you truly mean "mass", or calling a trans woman a "woman" when biologically is a "man", or calling a white tanktop a "wife beater". None of this is inherently "wrong" because people understand their meaning.
@@newme1589 So you think almost everyone uses "God" and "Religion" interchangeably?
Because He does!
Short answer: Yes
Christ is King.
I am hoping trump has tulsi gabbard as the head of intelligence or in charge of parlay/ in charge of foreign policy. She is awesome

It’s a strategy from Marx. Subvert authority from God & the family to consolidate it with the state.

About Fifi
She is a teenaged female variation of the Looney Tunes character Pepé Le Pew. Her fur is purple and white, as opposed to a normal skunk's black and white, and she keeps a ribbon tied to her hair which causes it to fall over one eye, giving her a sultry, coquettish look.
The biggest grifter in politics, smh 🤦🏻♂️
I think it's a good thing, explicitly stating that we must take responsibility. Why do you keep trying to mix religion and politics?
Because we the people are the conscience of the government. We’re seeing the effects of letting Satan run our government.
Chris, the Knights of Columbus are always at my Church. ✌🏼🤟🏼👊🏼😎👍🏼🤌🏼💯
In response to the title:
No.
Just as those on the political left lay no more or less claim than those on the right to the symbol of the American flag or the moniker "patriot," those with either left or right political leanings cannot claim God as being on their "side" any more than the other.
As Jesus stood in judgement before the Roman procurator of Judea, he himself terrified that the kingdom of God has nothing to do with the powers and dictates of men with regard to human governance.
It would be wise to follow his example, and to stop drawing false equivalences to divide the people.
I love you two. But it’s kinda funny how none of this is surprising to any lifelong conservatives. After all, they’ve been “paranoid” about this topic since Reagan
The people who seem most concerned about the "separation of church and state" are the ones most slavishly devoted to their leftist beliefs. And are more religious about those beliefs than "the religious" are about theirs.
