It is best to live in Russia, and work remotely (online) in some international company. In this case, you get a good payment for your work, and at the same time pay for all services, food, housing, transportation, for educating children ... in short, for ALL you pay 10 times less than in the United States or Europe. For a very modest salary by American standards, for example, $ 1,000 a month, you will live in Russia very well off. In addition, Russia has very low taxes - 13%. As for the weather, do not forget that Russia is the largest country in the world. On its territory you can find places with almost any climate. And if you don’t like the cold winter, you can choose Rostov Region, Krasnodar Region or Stavropol Territory as your place of residence, and the same Crimea, after all - there are generally subtropics there.
Although personally I can’t live without a winter. What Christmas without good frost and snow ?! Deers cannot drag sleds on asphalt. How will Santa come to you ?! It's just ridiculous! But I'm Russian ... :)))

Yep, Russia is not that bad as many people think of it. Of course most rural places and small towns look depressive and 3rd worldish but you can still find nice places and enjoy pretty much everything they have in America as a customer. When I was a teenager moving to America was a thing for me but as I grew up I realized there are pros and cons everywhere now I got 2nd citizenship and European residence permit so I can have some options if my country suddenly goes completely kafkaesque and turn into Venezuela/North Korea/Iran level bad. I think if you are a risk taker developing markets are better for getting rich than developed places where you face a lot of competition from people more talanted and more hard working than you.

I think you two are young and versatile enough to be international. I heard one thing you both said about your own birthplace, “more comfortable in my home place versus US for Fedor or versus Russia for Victoria”. But, you met at a University, so if you both had not left your comfort zone you would not be together now. Why not pick a place foreign for both of you yet where English is spoken, where you both can channel your gifting and be a success in an all inclusive environment? Someone here on this site posted places that might work for experimenting. I don’t like raining on anyone’s dreams, but my question is for Victoria? Have you put any thought into producing and directing versus acting, similar to Ms. DuVernay? These days it seems more actors than creators exist, but in thinking I know it is probably a matter of funds available to make it happen. Anyway, your thoughts on the culture here in America were very in insightful. They were on point! I wish you well in all things and all the places you may venture! ✌🏾

South of Russia like Sochi etc. does have a quite good climate too though :P
I mean, I went to Russia last summer, only to the European side this time so I hope to see the Asian part too in the nearby future, but I loved it. It's not at all like it's often portrayed in the West. There are large differences between regions and also between cities and countryside of course, but hey, that's in all countries and Russia is huge, it's impossible to improve all those spaces in the same pace, and as in any country the cities will get the first attention.
The people yeah, I agree about that, I'm from Sweden and the same thing about "once you get to know them" could be said about us but I also feel Russians are less materialistic and often more genuine than many in the West. Just generally speaking of course, not everyone are the same.
But Russians were generally really friendly, welcoming and hospitable.
I'm from a cold place but prefer warm weather and sun too, so yeah that would probably be the biggest con for me as well, with the exception of the southernmost parts of Russia which, okay, might not be warm all year around but at least are warm for long and have decently mild winters.
Food, hmm, yeah depends what you like but there are quite many options in the big cities of Russia too I think, but I can imagine America with a huge diaspora has lots more options. The best food for me is in Asia, and Mexico :p But Russian food is not bad, some parts are a bit close to Swedish as well, like pickled herring. I really like pelmeni and stuff like that. The only thing is that I really love spicy food, which would be harder to find.
And I never went to America so cannot really compare but I do feel the racism is a bigger problem there, as well as here for that matter. It's a real shame.
Lastly though, any country has their pros and cons, after all.
But you seem to be a great couple, hopefully you'll find somewhere where's right for both of you!

Victoria you can try signing up for the acting training program that МХАТ university offers for English-speaking foreigners. Actresses Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Olsen did it. It is a summer program, so you can live in Moscow for the summer and see it for yourself if you like it or not. Plus you'll get very good training from the best masters of acting who still follow the Stanislavsky method (after all, he was Russian:))

No mention of free healthcare or better and cheaper Education(free higher education if you are a good student) in Russia?
Student debt is unheard of in Russia and taxes are low it would actually be better for you to work in Russia because you might only need to pay a 13% flat incom tax and 6% tax for self employment!
Russia is actually the best country to work from home!
I live in Yekaterinburg and we have a decently sized black(mostly Cuban) community mostly working in a gym i go to,But Yekaterinburg is a more international city then your home city of Novosibirsk i guess by the reactions you have experienced...
So if you are black its better you go to cities that have more experience with people from other countries like Yekaterinburg moscow and Saint petersburg and Sochi!
Far east and siberian cities only have experience with asian people Black people usually go to western Russia

Hi, Fedor, I think that it is part of L.A. culture to be nice to people just because you may benefit. That is probably due to the film industry being there. I'm from San Francisco, and that was never a problem when I lived there more than 12 years ago. Who knows, San Francisco's population has changed so much that maybe it's like that now, I don't know.
I have lived in Asia and now I'm in Europe and although there is a lot of racism and classism here, the U.S. is a lot worse in terms of those two issues.

Yeah I'm kinda getting worried for them both. He seems like a proud Russian. And she's obviously a proud American. They've been talking a lot about this in numerous videos as of late. I hope they continue to fight for their love and relationship..

As a European who grew up in America, I would love to live in Russia. It is true when they say that cold brings the warmth out of the people. I 🤍💙❤🇷🇺. Love its people, love its culture. Love the Russian tea. I never feel free when I am in America. Freedom in America is a hoax. The sunny and warm weather can become miserable if the people are cold, brainwashed by Hollywood, the media and the failed American education system. Cold weather is still beautiful when you have people living in it who are warm, enlightened, lovely and interested to know about others.
America and in fact no place in the west compare to Russia. Not even close. We may have more junksumer goods and more conniving laws and corporations, but Russia has the best of the things that matter. I mean just look at their leader and listen to the way he talks: Vladimir The Great Putin. That is all you need to know. He says everything about Russia. I wish he was my president. 🙏🙏🙏🤍💙❤💌🇷🇺 Z
