They make it very clear through announcements beforehand, that anyone recording during the concert will be removed by security. I can't say for sure how much they enforce that in reality, but at the Berlin gig I saw years ago it made for a great, phone-free atmosphere. In the end, Maynard usually says something like "You've behaved well enough until now, you phone addicts, so now, for this last song, do what you have to and record your stupid little videos."
