stephen morris is a humble man because when i listen to his early work with division and pretty well through low life is some of the most intricate and complex drum patterns you're likely to hear.

@@zippymufo9765 Then why doesn't this clown do it? And covering stuff is fine, but writing music in his style is a whole other ballgame. I would have been far more fine with it if they had Gillian come back in the band and had Phil step over to play bass. Phil was an official band member on Siren's Call. He would have been able to step into the role and not piss nearly as many people off. Instead, this clown is here.

I've loved New Order since 1988. I'd always thought of them as equal parts of the whole. Without Gillian it was a bit weird. But without Hooky it just feels incomplete. Stephen looks great though. Being a drummer probably helps.

Rather ballsy not to include Peter Hook despite the jackassery between the band and him. He was pivotal in the success of the band. Very sad adults can't move on from old baggage and work things out for the love of music and their fans.

I really don't think we'll get a transformative moment in music again, the internet has ruined that possibility, we've all dispersed into thousands of little sub cultures and nothing penetrates like it used to do when we had about 3 ways of accessing music. There's loads of original music today, too much it frankly and none of it penetrates the mainstream, I just can't imagine a band like Nirvana or similar, revolutionizing the music industry in the same way unfortunately.

      1) Hooky, wanted to make a decision about DJing, playing & touring with The Light
      2) It was an interview with Hooky, he said he had enough of it, without the other band members
      3) I met Peter Hook in 2010, he was doing a chat with some fans after a book signing
He was so happy about being able to do is own creative things, he was really nice bloke, who had been through a lot of hell
      4) He was still keen to keep the hacienda & Factory stuff, which he had to use some of his own money in too
      5) Read the books by the members, Bernard, can't remember much about anything
      6) There is a lot of things that went on that the media will never know about, only fans can make their decision on what they believe is true
      7) I expect Hooky, as a little input on the lost sirens material, the way it was dealt with was nothing to do with a democratic band, they had become a Pop band
      8) Bernard, had told Stephen Morris, take a cut in wages when Grace, daughter was seriously ill
& Gillian, had to leave the band for a few years , for cancer treatment

Not a promising start, with an older bloke trying to act trendy and the resulting cringe factor. The theme continues with the interviewer, someone who's more than old enough to know he should've ditched the absurd hairstyle and footwear in those far off days of his youth, back in the last century.
Still a chance though to provide an illuminating discussion, however the subjects of the chat radiate the vibe of three teachers or social workers attending a low-key retirement gathering, regaling/boring those present with not very interesting anecdotes. You'd never guess that behind this dreary natter there lies some of the best and most innovative music of the 80s.
Airbrushing Peter Hook out of the picture also leaves a sour taste. Of course Hook is relevant - those three wouldn't be sitting there if New Order hadn't existed and Hook arguably contributed more to New Order than one or two others in that band - and trying to pretend otherwise is the kind of tactic which belongs in the realm of the politician who introduced this poor excuse for an interview.

@@eboethrasher Sure, people can wear whatever they like - it's their choice. It's just that you see older guys wearing skinny jeans and older women wearing short skirts and it doesn't seem to work for them, which I suppose is why most people reject certain looks, however much it impacts on their individuality.
