This game is honestly best with the nunchuck. At least that's the way I played it. Also, you guys should play the single player campaign. It unlocks the characters & is good practice.
Batting is better with nunchuk outfield is better without
i have played with both styles, and the Wii remote (by it's self) seems so much better for fielding even though batting becomes more difficult.
I've never played with the sideways version. (Like how they're playing; or atleast that's how they play in challenge mode) but I find vertical a good mix and you actually bat and throw (make motions) and it lasts long if you keep playing on different fields with different teams with your friends. (At my birthday party we stayed up until 5am playing)

I think I only played the GameCube version but it’s been forever since I played it lol.

Here are some tips.
1. Play the practice
2. Vertical Wii mote is the easiest
3. Play the challenge to unlock characters
4. Understand how star, error, and the buddy systems work.
You should play challenge mode cause it unlocks new fields, characters, and it has a "small" story. Thanks for playing!
It also unlocks a night mode to play games at night

Its funny how in their brawl lets play,they said "we should do super slugers".And then their next lp they do super slugers.

A little tip, have three characters that works well with each other on the outer field so you can do buddy moves like Buddy Jump to catch home runs. And Buddy Throw to attack the ball to your Buddy and throw at fast speeds. (24:26)
You can unlock every character in the story mode, which I highly recommend trying out. It's fun, and really helps you get acquainted with the game and it's controls. You can also play each other in versus mode, and that would be fun to watch. Can't wait to see the rest of this LP!
I hope Tyson is Wario and Daisy and Spencer is Yoshi, DK and Peach. Who wants this to be a full series like Smashing Sundays?
Pro Tip: Challenge unlocks the characters, try to do that 1st and then exhibition. And if you want to choose the players but think it will take too long, cut the video and "we'll see you guys in a second" and you filled the characters.

Mario Sluggers tips: Throw/swing when the charge circles connect. You have to do it right when that happens.

When you choose the positions in the field it would help if you have players that have chemistry (the pink note) in the outfield so if someone hits a home run you can do that super jump to get them out

Yes! I remember I tried to LP this game back in 2009, but I was too young and didn't have any equipment. Now I'm a senior in high school and... I still don't have any equipment. You guys will definitely do this game justice though.

The game is way more fun once you unlock all the characters. I also think it's best with nunchuck in all situations. The controls in my opinion are waaaayyyy easy to grasp.

FYI boo is the BEST pitcher in the game as well as king boo so I prefer to use them and wriggler cuz he gets out of the park home runs easy

When me and my brother played this together, my brother always took Toadsworth and made him outfield. And every single ball that went outfield, toadsworth caught. And don't forget, he would always say, "Toadsworth does it again!"

Man, how did the Wii fell so backwards in the graphics, the GCN baseball looked so much nicer
