We run our program on a very small budget. It is possible to be competitive in this sport without deep pockets -you need to be resourceful and know the technical side but totally doable
as his manager and friends with his parents (see below) i can attest to the merits of succeeding without being rich. he is lucky to have great supportive parents and sponsors that help defray costs.
@@mattmeyerson76 let's be real shifter carts are not cheap some are 2000 bucks sure u can build it but all the parts fuel Nd traveling expenses cost alot it's not a cheap sport upper middle class people can afford it. It's like any sport if u can afford it and practice enough u can get really good at it. But most sports cost money. I would've played football in hs if it wasn't so expensive. But I had to work ND if I'm working there is no time for practice or games.
@@mattmeyerson76 as if it's easy to get sponsors sure small businesses will sponsor but even that it still cost money for repairs parts fuel tires hotels traveling helmets driver suit ND all that stuff gotta be replaced at some point if the kid outgrows it. Like I said upper middle class people. ND if the motor breaks gotta have a backup and spare parts.
I raced for five years.. i won 212 trophies and I'm in the Talladega Hall of Fame.. hes no hall of Fame driver... when he said "you get heavier so you learn to put more weight on the tire in a turn". WRONG KID... your kart doesn't have a differential so it creates oversteering.. you use your weight to stop the oversteering.. kids that have the talent show it immediately.. they have this natural talent to feel the car in their butt.. in all my years of racing only 3% of all the drivers possess this talent.. and anyone who's raced against a person that has this talent knows when he's in a real dog fight of a race.. the other driver seems to know what your going to do.. and he's at your side the whole race.. that's when you really have to turn up your game, and you make no mistakes..
Dane It is a pleasure to see you grow as a driver. Each year you move forward and up towards your goal. It brings me huge pleasure in supporting your race season through Overbeck Machine. We look forward to 2023 ! Go Dane !!!!!!!!!
I'm the same age and I recently did it for the first time. it was one of the most enjoyable things i've done and i want to somehow continue if I start later then others
@@mattmeyerson76 first Dane has to actually win something major, like a FIA world or European title, then maybe he will have a chance. Right now he’s just racing local races and not evening winning
Rib protectors are for people with weak abs. Driven karts for over 10 years never broken a rib or needed to wear a rib protector. If your actually fit you dont need one
Yes this kid is never going f1. He's gonna get a normal job by the time he hits 18 ND then not do any racing anymore cus then his parents won't support it anymore cus it's too expensive

so cool. karting is a blast and i'm sure we will be hearing more about dane in the future.
I would like to see him in CIK-FIA environment going against the top karters, plus he drove a KZ shifter which is an added bonus in itself
Any kid that has rich parents that can afford the sport can get good it's just not too many kids have parents that can support this kind of sport

I drove against him in formula 4 and he was 5+ seconds slower per lap
probs just started
you cant be that much slower unless he had problems or was just breaking in a new engine or something
I want to son to be happy doing exactly what i did soI I can relive my life thru him!

Not late at all, but if you're looking to get into F1 one day it's a bit too late
to get into f1 your like a decade late. but there are many other options and things you can do in motorsport😀
I’m 14 love F1 but don’t have the money to do it but ya no going to keep trying 😂💪
WOW
How does he financially support racing with big teams like this?
daddys cash
Unless he's got a boat load of money or finds someone who does, he ain't going nowhere.
literally the same as any other driver.
