    I am a longtime watcher but have never left a message… I adore your videos and think your family is terrific. They have certainly blessed me. Your children are so precious and well behaved. I am 73 year old grandma and you have filled many lonesome times. My kids are away from me. Again thank you for sharing your family with us. HUGS and Blessings to you!

    Our water and electric bills have immensely went up the past few years. Our water and sewer runs 200 a month and was 800 when we started our garden last year😮. Electric has doubled, water quadrupled...

    Enjoyed watching while making applesauce. Our local store had an awesome deal on apples so I got a bunch to make more applesauce with. The cashier was horrified that I'd turn such beautiful apples into applesauce! My thought is, they won't last fresh as long as my canned applesauce will!

    I cut my soap pads in halves or fourths and store them in a plastic jar. You only need a small piece and you don’t lose the whole thing to rust.

    Shops are having a lend of us when it comes to prices. They know that no one is going to pull them up on it so to them it is open slather to charge what they want. Think we just need to alter the way we do things and stop the reliance on the big stores. We have stopped using a lot of products because of expense. When prices go up we cut more from our list. Did not know people did not reuse candles. Gosh I have the same candles I purchased years ago. Nothing gets thrown out in our family until it is unusable or unrepairable. This is for clothing and shoes as well. When something wears out it then gets replaced. We only give one present as well. For Christmas, birthdays and easter.

    The article I read said the 7.00 increase is on 5.00 plus items, and that most things will stay 1.25, with some 1.25 items going to 1.50

    • @mommabear2many
      @mommabear2many  7 місяців тому +1

      Well nothing currently is $5 at dollar tree here everything is $1.25 but if we take the math from last year 5 $1 items cost $5 this year they cost $6 if we go up to even at min $1.50 that is a 50% increase in less than 2 years pretty high inflation. They are also being vague about a lot of stuff so if you are able and there certain items you buy there you may want to stock up.

    Wow! Yeah, my daughter told me prices at Walmart are getting bad, just as high as our Safeway that we have in Washington State. It's getting so crazy out there. I'm trying to keep ahead of inflation too, by stocking up. We really amped it up during 2020 and beyond, because we could see what was coming ahead. My heart goes out to people that are struggling. We're not impacted yet, but it is definitely noticeable, and frustrating when you go to the store and you walk out with a couple bags of groceries and it's like $75 ugh. We do buy beef and chicken local, so we feel good about that, we're blessed that we have people to buy from that don't put all the crazy stuff in their animals. We're actually thinking of getting a couple of beef cows to raise on my mother in law's farm, she's got the barn and stalls. We only have a little over 5 acres, but she only lives like 3 minutes down the road. Yes, bills are going crazy too. I'm so excited (im being sarcastic) our property value went up another $49,000, so we get to see how that's going to affect taxes and insurance. Thrilling. On a happy note, loved the video as always.

    I wish I would have thought of reusing candles. Kids are all grown now and hubby and I don't do b-day cakes. Usually dinner and dessert. I have a feeling if $ tree raises prices, they might close down stores. I use the same toilet bowl cleaner. We too have extremely hard water. I haven't noticed a difference in formula of this brand. I need to go get at least 10 bottles for my stock up before they raise their prices. You found a lot of nice stuff. Happy birthday to your youngest one :)

    The way to look at Dollar Tree pricing change is "How well could you feed your family IF prices jumped by over 500%" because going from $1.25 to $7 is larger than 553% ... but then Dollar Tree had been purchased by the Dollar Store, and it is adopting their philosophy to sales.

    I’m surprised Dollar Tree is raising their prices instead of lowering quantity and weight giving the illusion that the prices are not increasing.
    Dollar Stores are opening in smaller rural communities so that’s why they may be closing some store in saturated markets.
    Many small downtown businesses sadly may have to close.
    When possible I do like to support ma and pa stores.
    I did go go a small town greenhouse yesterday and it is more expensive.
    I bought a few flowers to help support their business but will have to buy more at a cheaper price at a larger store.

      Yes sadly this has mostly happened here. We go to a semi local hardware store. But most stores are gone. We see people try to rebuild then go out of business all too often it’s really sad. We used to run a roadside stand and people wanted homemade organic bread as cheap as Walmart. It’s a tough.
