You should see what Living Traditions Homestead built for his pigs. Seems to work well. You'd have to look through his videos, it's back a ways but seems to work well. Why is your feed so fine? Most others I've seen is more pellets? Maybe that's why you have so much waste? Are you going to start feeding the pigs corn now since they only have a month or so left? I've heard others say it makes the meat much better... I'm not a Homesteader so these are just questions because I watch a lot of homesteading channels....
I seldom to that anymore. The food gets wet from rain sometimes. It works just fine. I've actually drilled a few holes in the wood to help it drain. The tire came off the wood when I initially did it. I screwed it down again with scrap 2x4 pieces and that has held up for several years now. Way less feed waste now.
What do you not like about them? The pigs ripped this tire off in about a week. I reattached it by screwing small pieces of wood holding the tire to the board on the inside. That worked just fine.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 It happens. I think it's better than flipped feeders and food on the ground. Here's a link to my IG post with the repair. instagram.com/p/CGNRDVhgpv6/
Gives them a new feeder Pig uses it as a scratching post lol Pigs are so weird. My fathers pigs do that rubbing thing against my leg too when I go in to feed them and whatever reason especially when you are petting one and then the other two come up and start pushing on you and rubbing against your leg like your a tree or something lol
So I get alot of food waste from different businesses. I was hoping to find a diy to make a type of food processor instead of just using a knife to slice everything up. This is bulk loads of say cabbage carrots and so on. Thanks
I did at first but they ripped it off in weeks. I solved this problem by using a small block of wood and screwed that down with the tire between that and the bottom piece of wood. Does that make sense?
Your piggies are so big compared to the jackolopes I raised. I lost some to the chupacabras last week. Jackolopes are super expensive so don’t look at buying one.
Very good one
Thanks, man. Of all my videos, this one was actually good! Haha.
Those rubber feeding bowls fit right in an old tire perfectly.
Not a bad idea! I lose some feed in the bottom of the tire, that might make it even more efficient.
Haha. This is Dan. I'm just signed in to my other channel!
Great video y’all!
Thanks! The best video on the channel! Haha.
Man that was a good idea those pigs won't be able to flip that over now great work God bless you! 👍🇱🇷👌🐽🐷
Thanks 👍 It lasted a week before they ripped the tire off the board. Check out my Instagram to see how I fixed it!

This is definitely revision 1. I went out this morning and they ripped it off the board! Haha. It lasted a week! I have a new plan!
Tnks I'll try
Did it work?
Hello. Thanks for the video. In the video, you mentioned you wet the feed sometimes. how does wet food handle on your tire feeders?

Nice job
Thanks!😃
The best cheap idea for feeders pigs cows possible chicken too
Great idea going to have to make one tomorrow for the girls
Do it!
If you wet the feed down that will eliminate all the powder being compacted into the soil.
Yeah, I am walking a fine line between time spent on chores and waste. This tire has helped so much!
I love your chickens! They are so white and fluffy. Since you feed your piggies 2-3 times a day how much do you think they weigh?
Thanks! I think these pigs are pushing 300 pounds now.
May i ask what you feed your pigs as well. Nice video
We feed them soy free grains from a local farm here in MD. Homestead Harvest.
@@DanielRizza Thank you for getting back with us.
Great invention
Thanks, man!
How did it work out? I like the tire feeders but there is a lot that I don’t like. I’ll be building some soon.
What do you not like about them? The pigs ripped this tire off in about a week. I reattached it by screwing small pieces of wood holding the tire to the board on the inside. That worked just fine.
I guess that it. Ripping them off, feed getting under the edge of the tire on the inside. Maybe I’m crazy! I’ll find out soon.

Awesome! Thanks!
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 You got it, buddy! Thanks so much for checking out the video and the channel!
Check out the version of this tire feeder that Jordan Green posted on his FarmBuilder channel several years ago. Tim
That's where I got the idea. His stuff is great!
Gives them a new feeder
Pig uses it as a scratching post lol

They do like you when they get used to you.
What type of fencing do you have for your pigs?
great job
Thanks!
Hi Sir ! I'm a Indian. I love to do so
Great 👍

That's cool! When I get food waste from a local grocer, I just dump it in there on the ground. I don't cut anything up for them.
What kind of breed your pig is?
Berkshire/Poland China crosses.
Why did you just screw those feeders to the wood
I did at first but they ripped it off in weeks. I solved this problem by using a small block of wood and screwed that down with the tire between that and the bottom piece of wood. Does that make sense?
Why not just screw the rubber feeding bucket down to the board?
I didn't want to ruin the feeder, plus the tire has higher walls and was free.

Yes they are!
Good try
