Leah Remini (King of Queens) was born and raised Catholic. At 9yo her mother joined the cult of Scientology. When she escaped the cult a few years ago, she returned to Catholicism and her daughter was baptised in the faith.
She is a brave and amazing woman. It’s very dangerous to call out Scientology. They follow and harass you. The wife of the head of it has been missing for at least a decade. Good for Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes to take children away from Tom Cruise and the cult.
The RC Church lost a great deal when it did away with the Latin Mass. It swept away a universal commonality that the very word "catholic" meant. I'm ashamed to say I gradually lost interest in public worship when it stripped away the signs of mystical connection. The Latin Mass gave me prayful connection with saints of the past. Maybe that makes me shallow, but I can't help feeling it's as though something critical was removed and nothing took its place.

The second commandment prohibiting making "graven images" emphasizes the word "graven." It's all incorporated in the First Commandment, "Thou shalt not have strange gods before me." The statues in our church are not strange gods, neither are they graven. Lil Wayne is a Black hip hop musician. Long story, but when I happened to see a video of him receiving an award at the latest Hip Hop awards, his speech made me think he was Catholic. He has great spiritual strength, plus is full of life. He's often acknowledged a white cop who saved his life when he was 12 years old. Especially when they do it for more votes or popularity.
My mother lives in a small town in Ohio (5,000 people), and Martin Sheen on occasion would be at mass. His grandmother lived in an assisted living facility in the town. He made attending mass a priority in his life.

I'm steadily educating people out of that practice in our international community in Poland. It was imported by people from other countries. We're also not supposed to raise our hands in the 'orans' position during the Lord's prayer. That's the gesture of the priest, who is alter Christus, extending his hands like Christ on the Cross. It's not a gesture for the laity. Basically, folks, don't make up gestures that are not in the Missal and not prescribed. Learn what the ACTUAL gestures of the Mass mean, and then use those gestures to enter more fully into the Mass.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up a man was standing there and he said to me (keep in mind i told no one but my friend who and why we were there) "I want to pray with you for peace for your dad Howard" we prayed together for my dad and he said "these are for your dad" and handed me a padre pio medal and prayer card both of which my dad was burried with as well as accidentally my rosary with water from Lourdes...as much as i was like ahhhh my rosary i didn't have the heart to go "ummm he's not supposed to be burried with my rosary". but as i was leaving a lady stopped me and told me that if that guy prayed for or with me it was coming from God, that he was always there everyday praying and he just seemed to know things from God. I was like yeah never told anyone here no one here knew me and he knew my dad's name.

I used to do it myself - until I found out a couple of years ago that it’s a Protestant-inspired spirit-of-Vatican-II modernity (and thus NOT CATHOLIC). 18:37-18:41: If Bp. Sheen and Martin Sheen ever meet, I think that Bp. Sheen will say that he’s flattered by Mr. Sheen’s name change...and then rebuke Mr. Sheen for being on the non-Catholic or anti-Catholic sides of so many issues. 22:59-23:37: Mr. Springsteen’s Catholic faith is intertwined in his music? Oh, REALLY!? I’ve heard more of his songs than every other non-fan whom I know, and haven’t detected that. Dave Morrison of Blue Collar Logic (on UA-cam) compared a Chuck Berry song to a Bruce Springsteen song last year, and Mr. Berry’s song was hands down the more Catholic of them. 23:43-24:28: All of those Hollywood types who are “trying to make a difference while flying under the radar” should follow Jim Caviezel’s lead. Mr. Caviezel has made a difference by NOT “flying under the radar”! 24:29-25:13: Mainstream news media reported (last year, I think?) that the Friends of Abe disbanded.. 25:52-26:19: Mr. Banderas said in a 2006 interview that he”s agnostic, and is a two-time divorcee. 27:24-29:28 / 31:07-32:10: I’m a nitpicker, but the purpose of my nitpicking is to deflate unwarranted adulation. It’s been my general observation in the last two decades that the publicly “better” Catholics get condemned, and the publicly ”worse” Catholics get lauded and celebrated (which seems contrary to what you were saying as a group) - that’s crazy, and it drains me! 33:59-34:08: Ummm...have you heard what Church Militant has been saying in the last several years? When discussing prominent Catholics, it isn't nit-picking to call out when their actions and beliefs strongly contradict Church teaching. We are called to be HONEST. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira call themselves Catholic, but both of them nearly stripped naked last night during the Super Bowl halftime show. Practically every celebrity discussed in this Catholic Talk Show episode supports abortion and gay marriage. Gwen Stefani says she wants to marry Blake Shelton in a traditional Catholic wedding, but until they can do that, they're going to shack up. Martin Sheen now plays a gay man in a relationship with Sam Waterston in "Grace and Frankie". I could go on. Believe me, as a writer myself, it pains me to bring up these things. There is no doubt that the vast majority of the people discussed in this episode are very talented. But to listen to those presenting this episode, every single one of the artists discussed are ready for canonization. The hosts of the Catholic Talk Show owe it to their audience to be more honest with us.
I was thinking almost the same way. Are they really Catholic? By name only or practising? Nowadays, people don't want to hear about hell or sin because of the false mercy.

How times have changed. Back in the 50’s many well known actors and actresses were proud of their Catholicism. There was a TV show where they would say the rosary! Too bad the media has turned so anti-Christian.
The problem is that there are lots of “Catholics” in Hollywood and Politics who we don’t want representing The Catholic Faith because they support things like abortion and contraception and gay marriage etc. we don’t want people to get the wrong idea about The Faith. Now I pray that these men and women live out their faith authentically and believe all the doctrines of The Faith but there are many who at the moment do not and we don’t want people to get confused who don’t know better about what The Church teaches. That’s the only problem with certain celebrities being held up or advertised as Catholic. I knew the late Paul Newman personally. I used to race against him. He feigned atheism when he was young, obligatory for a pseudo-intellectual in Hollywood. He was no atheist at the end, and was developing a curiosity about Catholicism. He got very emotional when I told him I was praying rosaries for him a few weeks before he died. I have faith he was not beyond the reach of God's mercy.
@Steve Bull Well I am Catholic and I think a man like Newman would not lie till the end on a matter like this. Newman was a Jew, but more important he was a good man who did a lot of charity. @Life Simply the Catholic teaching is against abortion. If you support abortion you are going directly against God’s teaching and you believe that child is not worthy of life. You should do a lot of introspection on why you want to rejoin the Catholic faith, and by you believe abortion should be freely available and then learn about why the Catholic faith is acutely against abortion. Only you can decide if you want to join but you also need to learn about sins and why taking communion when sinning is a mortal sin and that you don’t get to justify your choice in doing so on judgement day

I became a Catholic at an early age and the latin mass is one of the reasons why I converted!!!

Even God instructed the Israelites to build the Ark of the Covenant with images of two angels on the mercy seat, with their wings touching. Would you say God violated His own commandment?

16:41-17:27: You’re kidding, right? The whole holding-hands-during-the-Our-Father phenomenon has been around for at least 15 years.
In my diocese, the bad priests get a pass and the good priests get stiffed somehow - and my bishop hasn’t even been criticized by Church Militant.
I tapped out in minute 35. Please pray for me, a sinner.
Thank You Sir for saying all of this !!!
*applause*
I found this hour segment relatively strange. From the list and their comments. They didn't list two Catholics that are arguable the most devout of any listed: Mel Gibson and Jim Cavazeil. Their commission has led me to question the thought process of the writer who wrote the article. Maybe the list was made to attract more readers hence more well-known or more popular actors/comedians/musicians.
The comment made by the priest when he said that celebrities are being torn to pieces by the media ... uh what? The media tends to kiss celebrities butts especially if they're an actor/actress
Love being catholic such a gift!!
So do I!!! ❤😊
The greatest catholic in modern art, through his entire work, has always been Alfred Hitchcock.
The most brilliant catholic in terms of thinking and putting those thoughts in stories.
I wouldn't never guessed he was Catholic, that's amazing
@@thecanadianmacadamian3018 Alfred Hitchcock was Jewish but he married a practicing Catholic. He did not practice Judhaism.
Hitchcock never converted to Catholisism but he didn't practice any religion.

Phillip Rivers from the San Diego Chargers is a practicing Catholic.
He actually came to our Catholic mens conference here in Phoenix. He is a serious Catholic, like Harrison Butker of the Chiefs and Greg Zuerlien of the Rams.
Philip Rivers is a true example of how a catholic sports star should carry himself. You’ll never hear him swear on the field.
Bug Hall & David Henry are also very proud of their Catholic faith on social media 💗
Tom Brady is a very humble, amazing guy. There is a video of him speaking in his HS. I read his father was going to become a priest.
I won’t say I used to be Catholic, but I lost interest in the church with all the bad priests around, but I do love you guys, you make me feel like I should maybe go back to church, thank you all for your great show
One should never leave the Catholic Church because of people, stay for Jesus in The Eucharist ✝️🛐 🕊️listen to God, The Holy Spirit. 🙏
I cannot imagine not receiving the Holy Eucharist, the food for my soul , my spirit and body.
Priests come and go, good Priests, bad Priests, fat Priests, skinny Priests, black Priests, white Priests, tall Priests, short Priests, but at the Holy Eucharist at Mass , the Lord Jesus is always present. Come back to Catholic Mass for the Holy Eucharist for Jesus.
You need to do some research. I think it was in 2021 that over 300 educators were arrested for crimes of abuse against children…and not one of them was a Catholic. Found this on the internet.
I loved the Latin mass…that is what I grew up with and have always missed it.
Donaldakosior.... so do you feel better after leaving the Catholic Church because of bad Priests:
So why did you punish yourself because of bad Priests.
Ed Sheeran is Catholic , he's one of us Cool!
Yea, but his song "Shape of You" might make John Paul II cringe. 😁
@@aci. lol yes i think most entertainment these days is total cringe 😂😂😂
It's great to hear of our Catholic celebrities and other great personalities who are exemplary . Would have loved it and it would have helped if their photos were flashed momentarily just to quickly remember them and would just make it more significant. Could it be done for the future talks, please? Thank you. This is really inspiring! 👍🙏🌹
These Catholic celebrities need to witness to their faith and speak up for the unborn. They could change hearts.
Patricia Heaton is very outspoken about her Catholic faith & conservative values. If anyone doesn't know by now that she's devoutly Catholic they haven't been paying attention.
I think her sister is a nun.
Yes, she is lovely. She joined AA not long ago and shows such joy. She has a sister who is a nun.
Patricia Heaton is very vocal about being pro-life and her career has sometimes taken a hit for it. She is a warrior for the truth!
Number one message I needed to hear this Lent season. Peace and Joy to all this show helped me grow in a mist fruitful lent God is good
You're mind may not understand the Latin words but your soul understand the Latin Mass.
C'mon guys, it's Lt Dan! Not Capt Dan LOL. "Lt Dan, ice cream!!"
As for not mentioning Jim Caviezel, I think the title says it all. Jim is fairly well known for his faith. This is about those others who we don't know about.
Thank you for your awesome videos, Love from Oman 🇴🇲 !
You guys are awesome! Our Church definitely needed something like this!
Thank you for this amazing show. So light and uplifting. I love all your podcasts❤😊

I really had my eyes and my heart opened watching this episode of 20 Catholic Celebrities. Thank you for redirecting my judgemental heart
Being a Catholic you will never be alone. Why? Because we have so many saints and beatos/as we can talk with in our prayers. We have a mother of all nations, Virgin Mary, to protect and guide us whenever and wherever we are. Bonus, so much miracles in Catholicism. ❤
I love the English mass it's such a joy to participate in the mass. And the homily I look so forward the homily.
You talking about Gwen Stefani following Catholic traditions about getting married to Blake Shelton. Do you honestly think they are going without sex in their relationship? Where is it listed which rules of the church we can follow and which ones we can ignore?
Respectfully and NOT pearl clutching, but *bobble heads* are for baseball players; not Jesus Christ.
Agree. Those are hideous.
I agree but they probably don’t mean to be disrespectful
@@megan8832 I would have agreed with you but they STILL are using those disrespectful bobble heads so now I know they know the objectiions and they're continuing. It looks like an atheist channel or meme where the image of Jesus is reduced so shamefully.
Eileen D I completely understand what you’re saying and I agree but I would pray for them to realize that it could be disrespectful
I agree with you. It just seems wrong.
Jacqueline Burkepile says that we shouldn't be nit-picking about every little bad thing that people do.
We LITERALLY started this episode by saying none of the people were saints... and if you went into the episode with that mindset this episode would not be for you.
@@CatholicTalkShow
I stopped watching in the first 2 minutes. Lots of celebrities were raised as Catholic but have abandoned the faith or stopped practicing or simply became light Catholics.
Yikes. Pretty sure they admonished their unorthodoxy at least three times throughout the show. Besides, this episode provided a great spiritual reminder to not judge. Not only can it push away someone who is in the body of the church (possibly on the path to orthodoxy or triumph over their vices), but it is also a tactic of the enemy to distance ourselves from God.
@@johnlowkey359
Two videos I have found close to what "do not judge" actually means and about lukewarm Catholicism (light Catholics, in other words):

Another bold in his faith Catholic celeb is actor Neal McDonough who is awesome in living his faith, even through his choice of projects& roles!
He has turn down roles that involve sexual scenes and kissing.
Right! I couldn’t think of his name. He lost roles because of his beliefs, had to sell his house, many struggles to stay faithful.
After reading the comments. What is the most annoying?
1) atheists bashing Christians
2) Protestants bashing Catholics
3) Catholic elitists bashing “unworthy” Catholics
RamManNo1 it’s a toss up between protestants and fellow Catholics
Magnitude of annoyance in reverse order.
Thank you

#3 as in my area they are so unloving & elitist also think their interpretation of the Catholic Faith is the only right way, they are dividing the church, God have mercy!!!
We should support them where they are correct and lovingly teach where they are not so that they can be that light set upon a hill for the world in a very special way.
By the way HUGE fan of Mark Wahlberg he is a great Catholic man to look to.
May Kobe Bryant and his daughter Rest In Peace under the perpetual light. My prayers go out to their family and their souls.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
O Lord, your sorrowing Mother stood by your cross; help us in our sorrows to share your sufferings.
St. Philomena intercede for them!
St. Jude intercede for them!
St. Joseph intercede for them!
St. Michael intercede for them!
St. Raphael intercede for them!
May their guardian angels intercede for them!
well said.

@@TheWrensHouse you should love those who are wrong but it is hateful to allow them to persist in their wrongness in silence
You have a duty and obligation given by God to tell them they are wrong.

I totally agree with you, Sean.

Hi, you're making some of us feel so old 😅. Martin Sheen being Catholic has been well known in the public domain since the 1980s. Love the show.
Jack White has mentioned several times that he was going to enter the priesthood, he was an alterboy in Detroit as a boy, his mother and father both worked for the Diocese of Detroit.
How do most of these celebrities support pro-choice politicians?
Kathy Carpenito No priest and no religion has the right to tell a woman what to do with her own body!
If a woman killed herself, it would be her choice but that’s not at all what she doing. That new life is a whole complete person from the moment of conception. That runs contrary to natural law.
If anyone, be it priest or religious, has to tell somebody what is antithetical to the natural law should recalibrate her moral compass. Think about what you’re gonna do with your body before murder become the decision.
@@teenherofilms But God said "Thou shalt not kill" that's include the unborn which happened a human liked you! And for the record that unborn has their own body, it wasn't the mother's body that they're want to kill. Just bc the unborn cannot talk it's ok to kill them...where is your conscience???

I knew the late Paul Newman personally. I used to race against him. He feigned atheism when he was young, obligatory for a pseudo-intellectual in Hollywood. He started to turn when he played Frank Galvin in The Verdict, a personality that actually was closer to his own rather than the cocky types he played earlier in his career. He was no atheist at the end, and was developing a curiosity about Catholicism. He got very emotional when I told him I was praying rosaries for him a few weeks before he died. I have faith he was not beyond the reach of God's mercy.
Interesting. I remember a quote that he identified as a Jew because it was "more of a challenge". Jewish father and Catholic mother right?
Paul Newman was Jewsih and his father was Jewish. His mother was christian Science, but he identified as a Jew.
@Steve Bull Well I am Catholic and I think a man like Newman would not lie till the end on a matter like this. Newman was a Jew, but more important he was a good man who did a lot of charity. Some of his movies might have promoted non Christian things like abortion, and that I condemn, but only God knows what's in person's heart. All I know is that when someone dies we say RIP.
Thank you. I am thankful for the update. Not all Catholics are good but with the practice of the Catholic religion, people would have a guideline & moral compass to being a friend of humanity.
You guys teach me so much about my faith.
I’ve just watched Cliff Richard in concert here in London. Cliff is one the biggest stars here in the U.K. over the last eight decades and still packs out venues whenever he performs, e.g. The Royal Albert Hall. The U.S.A. is about he only country he couldn’t break into. Cliff is not a Roman Catholic but he is very open about his Christian faith, and howit helped him through his ordeal when he was accused of horrible things and successfully sued the B.B.C.. He received moral backing from many friends including Elton John. He Has released Gospel albums and is open about his faith. He now lives in comparative anonymity in the States. I think he would be a great guest to have on your show. God bless. Great show.
I miss Bernie Mac who never missed an opportunity to tell everyone that he was Catholic. Lord God rest his soul in peace.

Wow Bill Murray loves the real mass. I have new respect for him.
Real Mass? They are all real.
I love your channel. May more people be called to go back home, ROME. The talk is done in a very casual manner and fun. Catholics need to have more of this. Our brothers and sisters who don't know about Catholics will learn from this. Catholics has EUCHARIST that is so sacred. The presence of Jesus in the feast and unite with His people in the Mass is amazing.
It is good to attend a Latin Mass once in a while but since I don't understand the language, I prefer to have it in my local language. In Indonesia we sing KYRIE, SANCTUS, and AGNUS DEI in the Mass during ADVENT.
I was born Catholic, and strayed away for YEARS. Now since I found your channel and with this new pope, I want to get back into the church since I know in my heart is it the true church. I remember feeling so peaceful at church and love how traditional we are and how mysterious it is. I love Catholicism BUT I am pro choice and pro LGBT. Can I still be catholic? BTW, I’m 27
If you believe killing a baby is ok then you can’t be true Catholic. Loving people who may chose to live in sin Is a Catholic but being ok with gay marriage is different
Only you can decide if you want to join but you also need to learn about sins and why taking communion when sinning is a mortal sin and that you don’t get to justify your choice in doing so on judgement day
I can’t say, I’m for or against. The judgement, I leave it up to God.
