Well, I'm twice your age and it has never happened to me! Sometimes you get to the end and think "That wasn't too bad." For me, that makes a moment. You are already experienced enough to know that two weeks after you finish something you have already ceased to notice it anyway.
The honest simplicity of your endeavors are the magnetic draw! It's not the destination but the journey, and the beautiful mistakes that we remember when we reach the end! Such a beautiful enigmatic couple building their dreams and incredible future...one task at a time! Blessings to you and future escapades in life!
Hi guys they are pulling alot of trees near us and planting olives in there place alot of the farmers near us are say there just isn't the market to sell them at decent price anymore the lemmon grows around near us they are literally picking them straight on to the floor and plowing them in 😢 your doing a great job
Oh, interesting. Thanks for sharing Andy! It’ll be interesting to see what they put in their place. Lots of new olives and almonds gone in around here in the last few years.
"Bodge" - definition: using a non-traditional approach and materials to achieve a results that would leave a craftsman wincing and you relieved that it is now done. And never forget that you are now a practicing worshipper of the Greek god Mediocrates. (motto: "meh! good enough!") NB tile drilling. Masking tape approach is fine, but the arrow-shaped drill bits are definitely worth the money.
Danny & Kate, great bodge, sometimes it’s the only or best option, whatever you choose or plan to do with an old house always allow for the “can of worms” whatever you estimate the cost to be, make sure you have double, if you don’t have any problems fantastic roll the money on to the next job, no one said life was easy but with all you’ve got going on your making a very good fist of it! And you can garden and grow all your life and not stop learning, no year is the same and that’s what makes it interesting? You’re doing great! Best Andy. (If you have a post box I’ll send you a set of tile drill bits, better than masonry bits and tape, made for the job and a set will last you a lifetime)
That’s such a kind offer 💚 Thank you, Andy. Although we don’t have a PO Box or anything set up to receive packages. But it’s messages like this that make us feel quite happy with our level of amateur reno 😁 Thanks for your support!
How sad that the mature trees are being removed. Bare ground is a no no in area that is very dry. Perhaps replacing random trees might be the answer while the mature trees provide shelter and shade. I have never been there, but i abhor the deliberate creating of naked ground.
DIY DISASTER POLL
What do you think? Will we ever have a renovation project run smoothly?!?
YES or NO? Cast your vote in the comments 😂
No renovation ever goes smoothly, but you'll make it without any doubts 💪
Just like life, it's a journey of overcoming....

Haha we like that definition 👌🏻
@@SmithsdaleFarm Hope you would. Here's another. Craftsman - someone who isn't subject to time pressure. Bodger - someone who is.

Will be great having fresh produce to eat
Can’t wait for our first harvest of our own veggies!

It’s such a shame to just rip everything out! We always look at the old groves and think they’d be great to run chickens or ducks under at least.
How are the fruit trees that were attacked by insects doing ?
Recovering a bit. Thankfully! We’ll show an update in the next video ☺️
