Cliffjumper's chromed bazooka specifically has me tempted to go for him alone, something about translating a cartoon weapon into the exact aesthetic of a G1 car bot toy weapon
This is genuinely one of, if not the most intriguing niches Transformers has ever done. It’s so genius and always stop motion animators to do many things
The irony to Bumblebee being officially licensed by Volkswagen is that Volkswagen also owns Porsche. So in theory they could have approved a license for Jazz ages ago, but they don't.
6:20 Thats technically more accurate, as the G1 toys of them were based off of the Penny Racers, and they had that slot for, well, the pennies. With the G1 toys they didnt need that so it compacted all the way, if you look at the G1 toy, the flap isnt perpendicular to the gruond, but with the missing link, and the penny racer, it is
2:14 Bumblebee and Cliffjumper taking on Makuta is my favorite shot in this video. Amazing Honestly, I've already got 86 Bumblebee and I'm of the opinion that 86 Bee is way better because cheaper and bigger. But these little guys do look pretty sweet, that price kills any chance of me wanting them though.

The size and proportions of their robot modes are great, and they've been smart in how they added articulation.
No. Hasbro knows that the market for these is going to mainly be adults and hardcore collectors, but that doesn't excuse how little you're getting for $40, chrome or not.

Yeah, the value proposition on this pair makes it difficult to pull the trigger. That and the widening gap between the Canadian and US dollar, plus the postal strike limits the economical shipping options. Not to say I'm necessarily stingy, I bought both the C-01 and C-02 Missing Link Convoys, and I do plan on getting the Sunstreaker release. Now I wonder if the port on the back of these Missing Link Minibots are action figure stand compatible like the Missing Link Convoys
I got Bumblebee not too long ago, since I have a bigger attachment to him than I do Cliffjumper. Bee's fun, in fact, I think he's a better toy than ML Optimus. That being said, I do agree with the $40 price point being a major hurdle. The C-01 version of Optimus was expensive, but it had a lot of value in it. Bumblebee only has his pistol, which doesn't really make up for it. Still a good figure, though.
I'd love to see an articulated g1 punch/counter punch. While I do have the vintage of him I just would love to see him in today's standard articulation.
4:50 but he can kneel (if you put the feet all the way pointed) and ss86 Optimus can’t 😂long thighs shorter calves work way better for movement, that’s how we work mostly
I was hoping they would make a Bumblebee version based off that one Walmart reissue where they adeed extra painted details and gave Bumblebee a more cartoon/comic accurate face. Kinda like how they made that one Cartoon inspired version of Missing Link Optimus Prime. I got the Missing Link Optimus Prime with the toy accurate details and trailer and I love how much more detail they put into him compared to the actual toy. They painted and modeled all the sticker details to make him look more realistic, so the fact that BumbleBee and Cliffjumper dont even have painted on lights is honestly inexcusable, ESPECIALLY for those prices. Until they make one akin to the Walmart reissue Bumblebee, I think I'll just stick to that one instead of getting the Missing Link Bee.
Aww, these guys are so small and cute. But I grew up in the 2000's and I'm in my mid 20's. So I'll wait until the new toy line Age Of Primes start next year.
I think it's best to transform the arms last on the G1s too. I bought both Missing Link Primes but yeah they priced these wrong. I probably would have bought both at $30 each but for $40 I bought neither.
Takara should give the missing link treatment to g1 Inferno and Grapple. I saw a video review of g1 Inferno, and he looks great for a g1 figure. The only thing he is missing is articulation he is one of the few g1 toys that looks great in vehicle mode and robot mode and one of the few that looks like the cartoon
I have these on order from Anime Export. Theyre in the post so should be delivered any time! More expensive than I'd like. I have ML Optimus too, and ML Sunstreaker on preorder. I decided not to preorder ML Cordon being same mould as Sunstreaker and not one of the original G1 gang. (He was just a diaclone release, I believe. Looks great though!)
He never should've had that stupid Raisin Bran Sun/Gerber Baby human face. Why the fuck do all the Transformers need to have human faces? Now all the cool original *ROBOT* faces from G1 are stupid "battle masks". And did you see how absolutely ridiculous Optimus looked in Rise Of The Beasts? Just keep the damn mask over his mouth. OMG! He looked so stupid! ☹️😮 What the hell were they thinking???
That look so good but if you don’t want to pay over 30 dollars just get the 86 studio series, bumblebee sure he’s not as cool but he’s still really cool
I would love to have these missing link toys, but they are so expensive… I have to pay the 40 USD, the shipping to europe, the import tax… so they probably go well into the 100s of euros :(
Some people seem to misunderstand why people would want this, and they're speaking as if these things will be on store shelves in general retail spaces. No, they're not. They're novel collectibles designed and made for a decidedly *not* general retail market. I still wouldn't pay that much for them, for comparison I love building Gunpla and 40 bucks is literally the price of like, a Real Grade (1/144 kits with insane engineering and detail) or Master Grade (1/100 kits with insane engineering and detail), so these tiny little guys don't hold any weight to me. Not to disparate them, die-cast construction, licensing for Bee from Volkswagen, designing an entirely new toy from scratch *using the original toy* as the constraint with articulation… but yeah. I would feel bad buying one and having them somewhere on a shelf.

well they are recreations of 80s toy molds, and G1 reissues are expensive as is (I think the Optimus reissue from 2021 without trailer was like, 60 bucks?) the reason why is because of Die cast, which is expensive as shit, hence why you never see it in generations, and they have to keep the die cast because the point of the toy is to be like the G1
