This video reminded me of the old commercials for toys like Rescue Heroes. Full sized playsets like the aquatic command center was just a giant navy rescue ship which you can have other toys like the rescue jet, helicopter and boat interact with.
@@MrMetal-xe8lg I got christmas gifted a Power Pack Rocky Canyon (basically it had a threaded climbing hook that could pull itself up when powered up) The cassette that came with it was basically my introduction into Rescue Heroes
1. I’ve never really seen these two big boys in action, so it’s pretty cool to see something more in depth with them, even if they are a good chunk before my time 😅 2. Speaking as a Transformers fan, no, we don’t understand the Godzilla Collaboration Figures either. Most seem to believe that the two figures were rushed out repaints in order to be released for Godzilla’s 70th Anniversary. I’m personally disappointed with them because of how well they’ve handled other Collab figures. Maybe one day we’ll get a better one someday as I am also a bit of a Godzilla fan.
I’m not too picky about my transformers and I don’t mind partsforming, but I think these figures really show how the main toys have kind of lost something special. The play factor, the dumb gimmicks, we rarely see projectiles on mainline bots now, let alone big toys with walking and lights and sounds gimmicks. Heck even if you go back to just dark of the moon or transformers prime the toys were still designed to have gimmicks while also looking nice, and now it feels like everything is for just being looked at on a shelf unless it’s a half assed tv show or movie line. I love modern toys, but older tf toys with fun gimmicks like these just feel really special! Also love seeing you do a transformers video :)
The level of excitement then disappointment I had seeing there was a Godzilla crossover and then what it actually was gave me whiplash so bad I'm still in the hospital.
My grandma has the dinosoaur, half the parts are missing and it cant even walk on its own, but it was still a centerpiece of my childhood, just like it was for my uncles before me, and still love playing with it when i come over to them.
Yeah, the Transformers franchise has focused more on the Action Figure side to the detriment of them being toys. The last lines that really had a focus on great toyetic gimmicks were Armada, Energon, and Cybertron. As someone who's been alive for the entire franchise, I definitely recommend looking those up. (Armada Scavenger/Energon Treadbolt is a mold that I think would be right up your alley, it doesn't walk on its own but the feet do stomp as you push it along, and it has all kinds of sound effects in both modes.)
Tbf I think it was Animated that was the last hurrah of the toy first mentality. It was the last show and/or major Transformers line I remember that had toys designed to be fun, not designed to be accurate to the screen and cheaper to produce. Early Prime had some of the same sauce but after the first edition toys it started leaning away from that pretty quickly. Is really noticeable how much more fun the UT toys are though lmao, got an Armada Hoist and Cybertron Dirt Boss recently and it's so funny how much more fun they are to play with than basically any modern Transformer I buy, they just _feel_ like better toys, even if they're more simple.
"5 Unpacking Experiences" makes me cry and puke and cry some more. Seriously, I will objectively say that a toy you can play with more than once is objectively better than one that merely replicates the play pattern of 'finding the prize in the cereal box'.
I don't know how you always manage to blend toy/media retrospectives, economics, and stand up comedy into the same video haha. Definitely not a mainstream genre but a genre I am apparently quite fond of!
For me personally, I would say the most FUN toys were made 40 years ago. Most transformers are well designed and look great these days, but they lack the pizazz the old ones had. That’s just my take though.
As a Transformers fan, NONE of us know why Grimlock has a Megatron head. I think it's just that, whenever there's a crossover figure, it's always gonna be Optimus, Bumblebee, or Megs. Because sales. :/
Despite being a huge collector, I've never ad a complete Omega Supreme. He's just a bit too Lego, and too expensive, and too hard to store. If I'd gotten him as a kid, I'd treasure him, but now it's just not quite worth the price to buy all his bits. TRYPTICON ON THE OTHER HAND... :D
You perfectly put into words, why my favoruite genre of transformers are baseformers, still hutning that generation 1 fortress maximus for this exact reason
That's pretty good, I do sometimes want to collect stuff i used to own from my childhood so that I can feel nostalgic about it, overall 10/10!on the video
something that’s been nice to see is the huge rise of third party figures that do a great job of capturing the magic intricacies of transformers while also appealing to the adult collector
Reason why the Godzilla transformers crossover uses Grimlock as a base for the mold is simply because it's a low cost remold. There's not a modern trypticon figure they could use instead, and even if there were, they'd probably use it for the mecha godzilla one that Optimus is being used for.
@ИванВасецкий-л7е is there one newer than the 2017 Titans Return one? 2017 isn't exactly modern still. Besides that, it's massive, and that's probably too much for this crossover. Using Grimlock assures that it's affordable still.
They didn't want to recolor/retool a titan for a crossover figure. Plus the size difference between the molds they used is drastic enough. I got the new remote controlled Optimus Prime a bit ago and he's fun. Sure he's one of those toys that doesn't actually turn off and he looks like he's been binging to many energon goodies but he's fun. It's his ridiculousness that makes me love him. Plus $40 is a steal for something that towers over most of the line.
The Transformers X Godzilla Collaboratives Megatron doesn't even have a Megatron head, it's the Dinobot Sludge. They weren't going to make him Megatron originally. That was a last second change of plans.
For the godzilla crossover, I think they should've made a two pack, being the 1998 Godzilla (Remoulded from Kingdom Megatron) And a King Kong (Remoulded from Kingdom Primal) If the come out with a concept art version of Predacon Megatron from Rotb, maybe the could remould him and Rotb Primal to make 1998 Godzilla and a Kong
Yeah that’s cool n all but what about TF Animated Omega Supreme 😎 But dude a multi component robosen Omega would be so cool and require so much creativity to pull off
2:48 hasbro has nothing to do with how bad it is, it has to do with the fact that the company who owns godzilla is an absolute pain in the rear when it comes to thier licenses
Gran vídeo! En ese entonces, las figuras tenían parte de metal por lo que eran más resistentes🤩🤗😎no como ahora que son puro plástico🙄 y de la nada se rompen😒

Hi
Can l have all your nova Bakugan for free
Who do I have to sacrifice to get into the toy share discord call with Jett Kuso so I can show off my walking Sky Lynx that still works after 40 years
Wacthing it walk is like a baby walking for the first time
Whenever Omega's driving around the track, the tank looks like he's nodding.
"Uh-huh, uh-huh, yeah, uh-huh. Uh-huh, uh-huh, yeah, uh-huh."
He’s on the phone, and he’s a good listener.
How dare you upload this as i am in a transformer lore binge while ignoring my final projects

YES. I was soooo envious of kids who had a ton of rescue heroes.
Man, my preschool had one of those sets and I played with it every day I could get to it. Good times.

Years when I was between five and thirteen years old also happens to be the golden age of toys, what a coincidence!
Is there perhaps a pattern here…..? No, it’s the children who are wrong.

It sounds like you’re looking for the Transformers Animated toyline, where each toy is pretty much its own thing

Hasbro should go back into the way they transformed the Transformers toys from 40 years ago
You should check out Takara Tomy's Zoids kits or the old Hasbro releases. I love all the motions they could get out of 1 motor in those.
You should take a look at the original beast wars figures!
The undertale music really set the message clear 😊
