EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO MPT SOUTH HUB AND HIVE
Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) is the Philippines' largest toll road developer and operator, and one of its subsidiary is Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), which is the company behind the operational Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), the partially operational and underconstruction Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and the in development Cavite-Batangas Expressway (CBEX).
We at Metro Cavite and Beyond, via Progreso Pilipinas, is honored to gain exclusive access to MPT South Hub and Hive - the corporate office of the company that is located in Barangay Alapan II-B, City of Imus, Cavite.
MPT South Hub, or simply, "The Hub" stands right beside the alignment of CALAX. The modern four-storey building received a green certification and a 2022 gold award from the world's most widely used green building rating system - the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) - for incorporating sustainability practices in the design and construction of the building.
Their green practices involves using solar panels that are installed on the roofs of the parking area and main building to generate 97% of their electricity requirement. Speaking of their parking area, it is equipped with an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging hub, to charge the patrol, security, and utility vehicles of MPT South. Meanwhile, the main building reduces their energy consumption by utilizing glass facade for natural lighting in their offices, such as the Executive Room and the Traffic Control Room. The Hub also includes a pantry with alfresco area for employees to eat, drink, and chill during their break time and off hours.
On the other side of The Hub is MPT South Hive, or simply, "The Hive", which is also a 2022 LEED Gold Awardee. The Hub is a recreational area that promotes wellness for the employees of MPT South. It features a wide dual-purpose indoor court for basketball and badminton, and an air-conditioned indoor gym, coupled with separate male and female toilet and shower and changing rooms. The Hive can be used by the employees during their off hours.
Overall, MPT South, exemplifies a commitment to sustainability and employee well-being through innovative practices showcased at the MPT South Hub and Hive. Once again, thank you to MPT South for giving an exclusive access to their corporate office.
