Hey so I hooked up the oil pressure gauge in the exact way and tried hitting vtec but it stayed at 0psi and ecu and all electrical is good what could be wrong ?
Hey man! I’ve got a engine swapped V6 6 speed 04 accord, it drives normal and hard (up to 7k) for the first 15 minutes, but after that it fails and tops out at 3k. Should I try a new screen/solenoid? Not many people have info about the v6 models, so any extra tips appreciated! Thanks for the video!
RCautoworks Believable. Im guessing the owner got scammed. I’ve seen it happen more than once, and backed out of purchases once the kid came off for the same reason.
Having the same issue gsr engine. Have 12 v to solenoid at 45000rpm new solenoid. If rockers are bad will gauge show 60psi? I suspect my rockers are not locking I'm going to replace them and report back.
I havent checked oil pressure, but i had 0 issue till like 3 days ago, my vtec kicks on for like a second then cuts out for a second or so then back on and so on, i checked the screen on the solenoid and its clear, my oil level is fine, stock ecu. Ive looked online everywhere but i cant find anything, any idea?
Any luck? I recently purchased a 02 civic no check engine light but going to emissions it failed for vtec malfunction. Now has been 2 months still have not been able to clear this damn code each time I fix something else the same code pops back up with something else. This week gonna try to get it down the last code that came up was the thermostat. It could be causing my overheating issue. But al we’ll vtec won’t kick in if not at the right temperature. Hopefully someone here can help me. New to the Honda scene. Hopefully I this fixes my problem.
It's weird how my b20v ran fine before I had my friend weld up my header that was cracked and leaking. After bolting everything back on, check engine light came on and VTEC was not activating. What's the issue? Before, it was leaking but running fine and VTEC was activating normally. Now after fixing the leak, bam CEL and no VTEC engaging😩
@@RCautoworks I'm not sure. After welding up my cracked header, and bolted everything back. I turned on my car drove it down the streets for a couple mins and then CEL came on and VTEC didn't engage.
Currently working on a swap they brought into the shop, Vtec isnt working on the s300, on the test output i can manually engage vtec and it will engage and switch over to the highcam maps, but on a dyno pull when it reaches the set vtec rpm of 4800 it immediately cuts fuel and ignition. Vehicle is also boosted
@@livindaunderground yes, since it a stock ecu moddified with hondata s300 it did not like the override errors i clicked in the settings and made it basically go into limp mode when you enabled Vteck. I had clicked the override for the Idle Air Control valve, since there wasnt one actually plugged in at the time. After installing the IAC valve back onto the intake and pluging it in and removing the overide error it was able to go into Vtech itself. Even tho u would think with error box checked it should allow it to bypass the limp mode it doesnt. Probly a stock ecu thing, others might have luck with it.

Hey, its been a while since this video came out, but I just recently assembled an lsvtec engine and my rpm as well as vtec do not work. It is stated in the video that such thing is a problem, but how do you fix it? Thanks in advance :)
@@RCautoworks Thanks for answering! So I just tried connecting the blue wire that comes from the distributor to the tachometer testing wire(car is an 1998 integra so car harness is different) and got 12v on every connected wire. I don't know where to go other than that, maybe fuses or relays?
@@edbladex3316 that's gonna make it harder to diagnose. Could be something disabled in the tune causing an issue but if they disabled the check engine light it will never tell you. Such as an ECT issue, possible ecu not seeing mph so it won't activate cause it things it's just idling and not moving. You can also check solenoid wiring from ecu to solenoid. Hook up a test light and see if it activates when it's suppose to. It could be pushing the signal out but the lack of oil pressure is not activating it.
after i try and hit vtec (k20z3) it doesn’t seem like it hits and it smells after doing pulls i have a check engine light for cam sensor i replaced the sensor and still the same code
RCautoworks no it’s a P06 but’s it’s been mapped and chipped and a basemap on it. I’m not tuned yet. My VTEC is set to 4800rpm tech said my car will be a bit faster but VTEC won’t be as loud. I told them it sputters they said can be ignition issue so I changed coil, cap, rotor. Still sputters

Hey man. Do you think you could tell me what silinoid valve you were holding was.
No clue, just pulled it from our shelf.
Okay so I don’t have rpm gauge but I have vtec from start up until about 5 mins than it quits working the rest of the day?
I have this problem.
Any tips?
Same here....any solutions found for VTEC quitting after 5 minutes?

It always amazes me that people miss the triangle of goodness for VTEC: VSS, oil pressure, RPM. Without all 3, no zoom.
We have seen it all missed....We saw an ecu that the outer case was a vtec ecu but the board inside was switched out for non vtec board....

Is it possible my VTech selonoid is plugged up if I go to punch the gas and it rev bounces at 4k rpm ??
mine also bounces at 4k any gear other than first. looking for a fix.

Buy a cheap power probe on Amazon and activate it while the engine is idling. The results will help you narrow up down to the next step.
i replaced the vtec solenoid but still the same code, still jerking on a 3000rpm, any possible issue? thanks..

Diagnose the issue first before doing any more pulls. There's multiple cam sensor codes, gonna have to properly diagnose the issue first.
my rmp doesn’t work and colant doesn’t go past the 2nd line
Is that a question you needed help with?
What about bearings being too loose?
Loose bearing clearance will result in lower oil psi. If its that's loose causing low oil pressure you then have bigger issues then just vtec.
Ok I think I know my issue. The last guy swap the motor to v tec version but left the stock non vtec ecu
Why would VTEC sound like it’s sputters when it engages and cut in and out real quick on 2000 GSR?
Is it on a stock ecu?

You would need to diagnose it, sounds like vtec isn't kicking over but possible engaging high load fuel table.
