Great video 🤘 When it comes to bosses and mini bosses, I think it all comes down to personal preference. Take O'Rin Of The Water, for instance. She’s definitely worthy of top spot, but by the time I met her I’d master deflecting and took her down first try (maybe I got lucky!) Whereas the likes of the snake eyes in the poison pool, the armoured warrior and, of course, the mist noble had me struggling for hours.
Without a doubt the most noble, his music is so mesmerising that he puts you in a euphoric trance, hindering your ability to fight back relaxing your muscles to the point where you can’t even move far surpassing the headless means of that. Not to mention it’s the only boss to haunt your emotions from beyond the grave ;_; …. …fr tho I’d have to go with snake 🐍 boi even tho he’s a bit more of a puzzle than traditional boss fight. ^_^
I actually think the Mist Noble's memetic status can be used to justify it being #1. It's certainly the most iconic miniboss (for the wrong reasons). Yeah, the Mist Noble is a complete joke and can't really be considered a boss, but the sheer hilarity it brought to the community makes me respect it.
Honestly, if you consider the fact that the boss isn't just the Mist Noble, but the entire level surrounding the Mist Noble, it certainly goes from bottom of the pack to fairly respectable.
It's stronger then most even the dude who goes crazy after you beat genichiro as it takes 2 deathless he'll even stronger then the false corrupted monk
Honestly I view the entire misty forest as the actual boss fight, and getting to the Mist Noble is the victory. It basically turns an entire zone into a miniboss fight
Before the second Seven Spear's fight you can puppeteer the general next to him. Shigekichi wears a armour you can destroy with the spear. Ps: As you didn't put the mist noble at 25, but instead the second Seven Spear, I was really worried about which position he gets.
Before I even started my Dark Souls rankings in February, I knew at least once I'd pull the "1st place goes to the easiest boss in the game" joke, and Mist Noble was the perfect candidate.
Here's a better strategy: pop a stealth sugar (forgot the name) crouch and sneak to the ashina samurai so you can take him out instantly and focus entirely on seven spears
14:42 It's funny you say this about Enshin, because I didn't have the Mikiri Counter at this point in the game. I spent a solid 30+ tries trying to deflect his multi stab combo. Felt like a god the first time I did it
For anyone who is struggling with the endgame Seven Ashina Spears : You can use a gaachin sugar and stick to the right wall. Crouch and move towards them sticking to the right wall. When you are out of their line of sight move towards them and stealth deathblow the normal general behind the SAS. You can also use the puppeteer or bestowal ninjutsu for added advantage. Then its just a 1 v 1 battle. Dont try to use the bloodsmoke ninjutsu
A bit of advice for SAS #2, there is an unlockable move in the Prosthetic arts skill tree that paired with with the Whistle Prosthetic to let you throw a soundwave some distance away. Aim for the right wall, let the sound fly, and the two will turn to look at it, letting you sneak up and Deathblow his friend letting face Shume Masaji Oniwa alone.
I haven't been able to successfully do it, but apparently, you can firework the sakura bull and if he's positioned right he will run into a wall and knock himself out giving you a free deathblow.
For the second Ashina Spears, I popped a Gachiin’s sugar, snuck around to his buddy, puppeteered him, and proceeded to turn the gank back on him. Good times.
Yay 😆 so agree, O’Rin is so so so good and interesting in design, she’s a queen👑 and Sekiro has a lot and good mini bosses and I love how the game “force” you (in a good way) to fight them because is the only way to improve your health bar.
I'd swap 17 and 18; on no charm+bell demon the Ashina Castle one's entourage was far harder to clear, whereas taking the bonfire on the other side of the Outskirts one gave a great opportunity to take out all of the minions.
They are BRUTAL when you're just starting since you haven't really encountered any thrust attacks yet (with the exception of Hanbei practice or Shinobi Hunter) and the timing of his Mikiri counter is so different to any enemy with a sword where it comes out quickly and you just dodge forward right away. Even with Mikiri unlocked, SAS was the bane of my existence for like 20 attempts in a row before I just adopted a hit and run strategy. Now they're one of my favorite minibosses
Chained ogre, use oil then set him on fire as it'll only take one charge stay close and dodge to the left or right you can also deflect any hit outside of his grabs You can also deflect the snake eyes grab
Got to disagree on a couple of these, plus a couple of tipps to make your life easier with some of them: 1) SAS...Oniwa you can use a Gachiin's sugar to steal yourself, walk up "inbetween" the 2 and deathblow the swordsman or even puppeteer him to reverse the gank. 2) Blazing Bull does NOT get desensitized to fire crackers, but there is sort of a cool down period between the times you can startle him. Plus you CAN block him actually, which leaves him stunned for a while, ideally while using dousing powder so you don't get burnt so easily. Chasing him around is dangerous and frustrating. 3) Chained Ogre again: Gachiin's Sugar to sneak up to him keeping to the right side of the stairway and get rid of a healthbar. 4) Lone Shadow Vilehand: use the extra ninja via puppeteering to stack the odds against him.
I really like #18. You can clear all the enemies out in a minute if you rush them all. And when you do it's so dang good. It makes you feel like a comic book character. 100% badass
Tokujiro is there because everyone who attacked the Hashira estate are ghosts in that Area, and you don't technically kill Jozu the first time cos it's just a memory, so its possible after what happend there he left to go join everyone in the village being left with only the Monkeys to entertain him
I think this is the first ranking of yours that I disagree with a lot of the placements, and that’s what makes these videos so interesting. Also the mist noble bit at the end was amazing. Great video as always!
Fun fact about the Seven Ashina Spears fight you ranked last: if you use a Gachiin’s sugar, you can quickly sneak up and stealth kill his buddy so it’s a 1v1 right from the start
Ive usually fireshotgunned the bull because he usually is one hit burned and he does gain fire resistance but it really helps and he is hella weak to fire damage
With chained ogres, it's all about dousing him in oil and then flame vent to light him on fire. Keeps him stunned long enough to whittle the health bar quite a bit and take care of the posture bar a few times.. And too bad for the Shichimen warriors that they can be trivialized by the mid air death blow when they due that long floating attack launching terror balls.
Imagine if mist noble is Just a really well prepared illusion while real one appearing later is like outrider knight from dark souls 3. That would be nice concept, that turns joke miniboss into total world destroyer as many players describe him (yes i know, putting enemy with outrider's fight style in sekiro is terrible idea)
The thing with both Jinsuke Saze and Ujinari Mizuo is it seems like their AI is designed to fake you out at times so you end up deflecting early and dying. It could just be my imagination but they like dash then double slash strike and when you deflect it enough they sometimes dash wait 1-3 seconds and THEN double strike, or double dash into your face proceeded by a sweep attack. Almost as if they’re learning…That could be me just copeing tho lol. Also I hate the blazing bull with a fiery passion 🔥🔥🔥 ‘ba-dum-Ching’ 😜
Completely agree with you about adds in a fight. The game is hard enough as it is. Don’t make people do boring stuff repeatedly just for a single shot at a boss that they might die to in 10 seconds. On my first playthrough I thought the entire game was going to be as ganky as Hirata Estate and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. That’s the only negative thing I have to say tho. A lot of the minibosses in this game stand on even ground with a lot of the major bosses in other Fromsoft games imo. They have full movesets that are rewarding to learn. Honestly? Even a lot of the *regular enemies* in this game are super fun to fight one on one.
first time player here. The chained ogre took me some time but i searched a good bit and didn’t find any fire abilities or maybe i’m not understanding the item descriptions enough either way, i grappled and baited grabs for about 10 minutes before he finally went down
Yeah, the fire prosthetic can only be obtained by getting the bell from the old woman in a ruined house back in the level, and using it at the hub area to access the Hirata Estate memory. That being said, full props to you for beating him legitimately. I couldn't imagine doing it that way.
Ι really think sekiro has the most annoying mini bosses I would seriously put mist noble at 17 because I appreciate him being a joke + technically the boss is the journey my top 10 would be 1 o rin 2 armored warrior (still not sure which of the 2 is my favorite) 3 the 2 bulls 4 the red eyed samurai I forgot his name 5 chained ogres 6 the white serpent 7 the great carp 8 the guy before genichiro 9 giraffe centipede 10 red drunkard
Just fought the seven spears and his friend, gaachin sugar to assassinate the samurai, blood mist and the then empowered mortal blade of the spear, easy win
I was on my way to the final boss of Sekiro just today and bumped into this piece of work Seven Ashina Spears. Not only did I get PTSD from the first fight against its counterpart (which I recall being one of the hardest overall imho) now he's got company. The arena also sucks because limited space, ledges, obstacles and fire damage while this thing has attacks the range of football field. No thanks. Just like you, I believe this game's combat excels on one on one and the overreliance on gang fights towards the endgame started getting a bit old.
Also not a fan of everyone who says "Well just use the puppeteer jutsu on the friend", because while that's a valid strategy, it feels like it's really the only viable strategy aside from cheesing it completely.
@@BillySYT oh honey, I gobbled up that gachiin sugar like it was some party favor. No regrets. If the game wants to pull a fast one we'll do it on my terms 💅

Bro you can sneak deathblow the general in the second Seven Ashina Spear fight or puppeteer him to turn it into a 2v1 in your favour. Did you forget stealth, gachin sugar and ninjutsus existed. I mean no offence but it grinds my gears when people say certain sections are unfair while ignoring the mechanics intended to be used in those situations to make it fair.
oh its easy to defeat SAS oniwa the one u put at the bottom all you have to do is use a gachhin sugar and backstab his pal general then use puppeteer ninjustu to get him at your side and beat his ass to a pulp i suggest also using the ceremonial tanto for extra spirit you coud do the same for snake eyes and the longsword in the dojo maybe also try it for the headless ape fight on his wife i am not so sure if it works their.
the second seven spear fight is quite easy tho, u can use gachiin sugar to sneak in and have free 2 deathblows wiht smokeblood or make the sword dude your puppet
You putting 7 ashina spears at last is so dumb. It's not worse than blazing bull or the ogres. You can just use stealth, or just take 2 of them head on since you're pretty op at the end of the game.
Im currently on juzou and i hate tbis fight so much. Constant archer shooting and badic enemies interupting the fight and killing the helper npc. I hate with artificial difficulty such as basic enemies. The blazing bull was quite gun because you csn parry when he charged and lowerd his horns which would stun him
The general in 18 spot almost made me quit the game honestly just with how tedious he was Then I decided to skip him and go fight gyoubu Came back and stomped him in 2 attempts after I had the chance to practice against a boss enemy without wasting time doing enemy clearing every damn attempt
Man the bottom is the Seven Ashina Spear just because they gank you? Dude, just chomp some Gachiin to sneak kill the buddy first and you got one of the best mini boss fight in the game.
It's purely just a me thing. I don't really enjoy the set-up that you have to use outside items to make the fight manageable. It rewards Gachiin usage, but I dunno, I feel like it'd have been more impactful just having the one Seven Ashina Spear & giving him a more advanced moveset. After all, I have the original Seven Ashina Spear right near the top of the list.
@@BillySYT why not? It certainly far more fun than kite them to the branch and do chip damage little by little with mortal draw. It makes no sense to not using things that's inside the game and call it an outsider And you second Juzou the drunkard fight, you complain how there was nearby lone swordsman that make the fight hard and you can't stealth kill it. Funny enough you use Gachiin in one of the attempt. Dude use your finger whistle. Bait him to the tall grass and sneak attack him. Ceramic won't work because it's too far so finger whistle it is.
@@dmaxwell910901 No, he said that you'll probably use cheese or something like that, so obviously then you won't feel like you've mastered him, but if you fight him normally, parry every attack and dodge Kanji attacks then you will feel like you've mastered him.
😂 First on the list isn't even a gank you can take out his friend so easily there are no enemies you have to take on more than one at a time. guardian ape maybe but if your smart you can still seperate them.
Theres a way to instant kill the sakura bull. You need to go on the roof and stealth behind him, when he starts walking out of the corner use firecrackers and he will knock himself out on the wall
I don't actually now what is "official", but I consider all these "minibosses" in the same group as the main bosses. The biggest reason being that in all the other games the bosses are the ones that have a name and have a health bar on screen. This is why I consider Chained Ogre to be a boss, and the Wyvern on the bridge of DS1 to be a miniboss. I think this is important, because to me Sekiro has many recycled enemies, and usually this is justified because they're "minibosses", but minibosses or not, they made my experience of the game less enjoyable.
Lone shadow bosses are utterly useless they are terribly designed and they literally ruin the combat of the game for me are pathetically over the top villain that don't need to exist
There's 10s of comments on this video explaining that. I just always struggled to actually sneak up on them (even with sugars). It's a skill issue from my part.
Which Sekiro Mini-Boss is your personal favourite? Let me know down below, and tune in next week where I tackle the Sekiro Bosses!
The Lone Shadows have more differernces to them than the Drunkards in Hirata and Fog Forest

It makes no sense to not using things that's inside the game and call it an outsider
And you second Juzou the drunkard fight, you complain how there was nearby lone swordsman that make the fight hard and you can't stealth kill it. Funny enough you use Gachiin in one of the attempt. Dude use your finger whistle. Bait him to the tall grass and sneak attack him. Ceramic won't work because it's too far so finger whistle it is.
i love how different everyone's experience is with this game/soulsborne games as a whole. O'Rin would be in my bottom 10 for sure
Pretty nice :)))))
12:25, why not? I mastered him, just because you're skill less doesn't mean everyone is
I think you just missed the point. It clearly wasn't just about it being difficult
@@dmaxwell910901 No, he said that you'll probably use cheese or something like that, so obviously then you won't feel like you've mastered him, but if you fight him normally, parry every attack and dodge Kanji attacks then you will feel like you've mastered him.
There arent enough mini bosses in sekiro 😢
O’Rin 🔥🔥🔥
Also, with the Chained Ogre, there's a mist blocking the way out, that's definitely a Boss for me.
I'm just going by the wiki, and community consensus. I can't control how other people think of the game, I can only go with what the majority says.
Minibosses annoying af in sekkiro somany of em have buggy mechanic and shitry camera bugs i fking hate them they are no fun
god your number 1 was cringe, i watched 30 mins of your video i couldn't drag myself through the last few mins
Lone shadow bosses are utterly useless they are terribly designed and they literally ruin the combat of the game for me are pathetically over the top villain that don't need to exist
Bit dramatic there, ngl.
@@BillySYT that's your opinion and after watching this list I'll tell you you can be a bit dramatic yourself
Lone shadows are great enemies. You can have some great back n forth by just doing 1 swing then parry
You know there is a small enemy you can mind control right next to the last ashina spear fight?
There's 10s of comments on this video explaining that. I just always struggled to actually sneak up on them (even with sugars). It's a skill issue from my part.
